Sky Sports app is reporting that Ramirez is threatening to not play for Bologna to force a move to Southampton. Not a great characteristic for a player to have, it shows that he has a real desire to come here! Have to wait and see what this does to the situation!

Believable9 Unbelievable6

So he will join Man Utd then, to be fair to us we all read exactly the same things during the Buttner saga. So if its ok with everyone I won't rush get his name printed on my daughters new saints shirt tomorrow afternoon.

Agree5 Disagree3

Still think he'll end up at Liverpool

Agree2 Disagree6

I thought it was because they could not get a loan from bank not that we never gave them assurance

Agree3 Disagree0

I would expect we have a 'prem survival' clause in there for this second payment which would make it tough for the bank to lend against.. I would like us to get him although is a risky one.

Agree1 Disagree2

"Not a great characteristic for a player to have, it shows that he has a real desire to come here!".... That sentence doesn't even make sense!

Agree5 Disagree0

A prem survival clause? Ok, turn that round, why not give Ramirez a clause in his contract that says he can go if we go down, that way Bologne will get their payments, Ramirez can play at the highest level and Saints aren't left with a player on 70k a week - simples !!

saintlee

Agree2 Disagree1

It does make sense. I think it's a bad characteristic but it does show the determination of the player to become a saint.

Agree2 Disagree2

Then it should read; "Not a great characteristic for a player to have however, it shows that he has a real desire to come here!"

Agree2 Disagree0

It has to happen they need the money, it just means it all goes down to the wire. Expect this to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Bologna want assurances. I would imagine they want to see the clubs bank balance or details of the loan that we will be buying the player with. I would imagine that NC will not want to show them the bank account and we wont be using a loan so the clubs are at an impasse.

We may have to compromise how we do business.

From a very trustworthy source on twitter, has said we are looking at swindon towns Matt Ritchie with a view to loan him back. Thoughts.?

Believable1 Unbelievable12

He isnt good enough !

Agree11 Disagree1

Hope so, then we can start singing "Don't cha wish your winger was Matt Richie? Don't cha, don't cha!"

Agree7 Disagree6

Ummmm no thanks......

Agree10 Disagree1

Absolute rubbish!

Agree11 Disagree1

We need better than we got already that is why it is called squad improvments

Agree8 Disagree0

What a through and through skate who hates saints, very much doubt it

Agree8 Disagree0

My thought is that your trustworthy so is not so trustworthy

Agree3 Disagree2

Torn on that ... decent prospect but is a huge skate.

Agree3 Disagree3

"Ritchie has been involved in Portsmouth's academy since he turned 13"

Apart from the fact above, he does not look good enough.

I suspect this is one of his mates or agent trying to get his name out and about. Nowhere near good enough for premierleague and I suspect that he will struggle in league 1.

Agree3 Disagree0

So we've gone from Ramirez to Ritchie?!?!? I don't think so

Mini-Saint

Agree7 Disagree1

Roll on next week when the
transfer window shuts
what will be will be

Agree5 Disagree0

Lol what a load of garbage
He's a skate and would not be good enough at all

Agree3 Disagree0

Do any of you realise that our latest young prospect Ward Prowse is also from Portsmouth. Does that mean we don't want him either?? If he's good enough and he wants to come then give him a chance. Tut

Agree4 Disagree4

Yeh but Ward-Prowse like Oxlade-Chamberlain has been re-educated. Close the borders i say.

Apparently we have shown our interest in Nicolai Boilesen of Ajax. He's a young Danish centre back, supposed to be highly rated, would cost around £4-6m.

BabySaint

Believable4 Unbelievable5

He's actually a left back. Great prospect though

Agree5 Disagree0

He's a left back...

Agree4 Disagree0

I had him on FIFA! He was really good! That was, until he requested a transfer. If he does come I might have to secretly hold that transfer debacle against him....
mssaint

Agree6 Disagree1

Oops I meant left back, all this desperation for a centre back has melted my brain! But yeah, word is we've made an enquiry about his availability. Wouldn't get too excited though...

BabySaint

Agree3 Disagree0

Would be a great signing as the left back position is our weakest link hence the approach for two other left backs. If this position was secure before the opener against Man City I am sure we would be on 3 points as we lost two goals through this position.

Agree2 Disagree3

I'm always reluctant to criticise a player, but the last Man. City goal was an absolute joke! Even schoolboys playing left back would not head the ball back into the penalty area, especially when you are not under challenge. If that standard of play continues, the position will be targeted by the opposition so one way or another it has to be sorted.

Agree6 Disagree1

Fair comment, but I think you are being a bit harsh on Danny Fox. I'm sure he didn't mean to head it back into the danger zone. Looks like he got his feet in a tangle and then got his bearings wrong - just a little :-). He has a very good left foot and is a great crosser of the ball.
But yeah, I know what you're saying and unless he improves his defending, he could soon find himself on the bench with NA bringing in another left back !!!

saintlee

Agree5 Disagree3

I was annoyed with Fox. Watching it back in real time I don't think he expected the CB to miss it and the ball came to him at speed. I think the ball hit his head more than he headed the ball. IMO

Jannersaint

Agree7 Disagree1

Fox is already a target for opposition teams. He is a weak link, a liability. I said this last season, pre-season and, oh look, 1 game in...

The walcott return is back on again.. Money not an issue but The key stumbling block is wenger wanting a 'future option' on luke shaw which NC is reluctant to commit to.

Believable4 Unbelievable9

That wont happen then, the guy has a year left on his contract. Cortese is not the sort to sell the future of a potentialy profitable player (especially an "option")

Walcott wages will eb a problem...I expect him tpo go the same way as wayne bridge ...obscurity via Chelsea

Agree2 Disagree1

If any deal for Theo is done it will not involve Shaw 100%! Gone are the days that we feed the Arse, now the Arse feed Manchester.

Moreover NC has said the future talent will stay with Southampton and that is our clubs future now! Shaw has also been singled out as a talent, and clearly said by NC he going no where.

Agree5 Disagree0

Rather have shaw than walcott thanks

Agree5 Disagree1

Walcott said himself when the rumor started that he wants to stay at arsenal and sign a new contract

Agree0 Disagree1

Cortese wot sell future potential so wot was the ox deal then

Agree0 Disagree2

Ox deal - player and parent pressure after repeatedly saying no to Arsenal. Cortese then made 'em pay every penny of our value but your obviously not a Saints fan or you would already know that. Give me another example... oh, there isn't one.
SaintGazza

Agree3 Disagree0

Love if theo came home. We really need pace and thats all he has so would compliment the side nicely. Id like us to slowly collect our academy prospects back now we're back and financially sound so would be a good start

Agree3 Disagree0

Ox-deal- another example in three seasons how much have we spent on top quality players except j-rod and cline [who needs to prove him self at prem level] and hope they do most of players on pitch were in the league one and we got every penny out of ox deal

Some CB news...

Saints are targetting Japan skipper Maya Yoshida.
Centre-back, who plays for Japanese side VVV-Venlo, and has also been attracting interest from Newcastle, Everton, Stoke and Fulham. Will cost around £2million

Adkins has already made a bid and attempted to sign Yoshida, another Japanese CB.

JJ

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Come on NA & NC get him before the others do

Agree2 Disagree0

Another japanese cb? Btw my prediction is that we agree a fee and wages, everything looks good, he seems like a bargain buy, then his work permit application is rejected.

Agree2 Disagree2

Vvv Venlo are a dutch team

Agree5 Disagree0

Sorry didn't mean to say "another japanese cb" at the end - it's late and I'm exhausted, my mistake!

JJ

Agree2 Disagree2

Looks like we're going to sell a lot of shirts in Japan if this deal goes through, on top of Lee!

BabySaint

Agree4 Disagree1

I dont think getting a work permit would be a problem think hes got nearly 20 caps for japan nearly double what lees got

Agree3 Disagree0

He's in talks with Celtic

Agree0 Disagree1

Last comment re Celtic ... No he isn't, that's a totally different Japanese player....

Agree1 Disagree1

No thats another japanese player otso his name is

Agree2 Disagree0

They are after both Yuki Otsu and Maya Yoshida with the them opening talks with Yoshida already

Been rumoured that we are going to offer a contract to former juventus striker alessandro del piero who is currently a free agent

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Have you been playing lma manager 2002 recently?

Agree6 Disagree1

Was on a juventus forum site. Reportedly said by Antonio conte

Agree0 Disagree5

Why would we want another striker?

Agree3 Disagree1

You been on the mkat again mate?

Agree3 Disagree2

On a come-down today.

Agree2 Disagree0

Why not alessandro del piero! he is experinced and world class quality, if he can come on the cheap, he will give NA the one thing he does not have! a PROVEN world class player, who will give us a different option from what we have (he is always stressing the importance of diff options). This does not mean they are slacking on finding a CB/LB, I am sure they have many targets and are looking at more as they become available. We have stuggled to get some of our recent primary targets due to clubs newly promoted status. It wont be until the closing day of the transfer window will we know which of or top targets will sign. It must be a difficult position for the nogotiationg team knowing that it is not all in our hands, if we have a player tageted that is also wanted by bigger clubs (I assume all are wanted by the big clubs, we are looking for world class players)the player will stall the negotiations until the big clubs make their moves. We will one day be big enough to be the first choice for any player.............march on SAINTS!!

Agree4 Disagree1

Del Piero !! He is 38 years old, you can not be serious.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yer and ryan giggs is 37 and look at him. like he sed he would be an option to have and not a bad one at that

Agree0 Disagree0
