According to reports we are after Jordan Rhodes. He currently plays for Blackburn and last season he scored 29 goals in the championship. Could be a good buy especially as he is 23 - so he still has plenty of potential. What do you guys think? Would he be a good signing?

Always been impressed with Rhodes when I have seen him. Scores all types of goals and would be a strong addition imo.

Are we letting Osvaldo go?

He's a very good player and should be tested in the prem, but by a team that needs a striker and as we have 3 we're fine for now he should go to somewhere like Hull who need strikers

We haven't got three strikers, just two, Lambert and Jrod.

Good long-term replacement for Rickie Lambert. I keep reading that Osvalsdo wants out, and i'm guessing this is due to a lack of playing time. My thoughts are that if RL continues to play pretty much every week, a player like Rhodes as potential replacement on the bench is the way to go.

I know there are rumors about Osvaldo wanting out, but the player himself has come out and said that the rumors are untrue.

Surely there is no point getting any new strikers in until we get this final third linkup in place to get our current strikers scoring?

Saints in for Diego from Wolfsberg. Sort of player would suite us pretty well & get us a few extra goals. Could see him being the Ramirez replacement.
Rumour on twitter about us being interrested in Iker cassilas. Not saying its true but check it out before you jump down my throat. Thinkit was posted on the talk sport account about a week or so ago

On TalkSport, QUOTE "Southampton have great organisation and discipline and big talents like Adam Lallana. But again there is nothing concrete. Playing in England is a very attractive option at the peak of my career but I'm focusing on helping Wolfsburg get to the Champions League. "
– Diego on possibility of joining Southampton.
To What question this answer was given, I have no idea. If you were interested? Are you interested? Will you be moving to? etc

Diego move would be amazing. One of worlds best players in his prime. Great control and ability. One of best free-kick takers in the world. Would be spectacular if he signed - he's only 28

Pochettino has shot this one down today.

Heard today about a deal which would see Alex MacCarthy become a Southampton player. Apparently the offer from Southampton which is looking likely to be accepted involves £4.5million, add on clauses based on appearances and performances over his first 2 seasons, a small sell on clause and Billy Sharp becoming a permanent Reading player.
Alternative offers have however been received from Newcastle and Cardiff. But currently Southampton is looking like the most likely destination.
If anyone is interested I was also told about Reading supposedly being interested in some Dutch league full back 'Schilder' of FC Twente.

McCarthy is another Paul Smith - a half-decent keeper who had a couple of outstanding games in the Premier League which briefly got everyone all worked up, only to return to his natural level of half-decent keeping (at best).

On the subject of ex-Saints keepers, I saw that Tommy Forecast was dropped by Dartford at the weekend - he played 1 and a half games and conceded 8 goals.
