Southampton have received an offer deemed 'good enough' to allow an unnamed Premier league rival to talk to Steven Davis. Recently Davis said he wanted more first team football with Southampton but if he can't get it here he will consider the offer from the other Premier league club.

It's Palace.

Davis had a good game last night, I feel that this season will be hard on all our players to sell a player of Davis quality to another premier league would be mad. I think he will required more often than he thinks.

The most under-rated player we have. When he plays, we always play well. Would be a starter in my eyes. Hard worker, proper player. Lightweight when he doesn't play.

Agree8 Disagree2

He scores a couple of goals and he is going? He is going nowhere - good solid lad that has just been called up nationally again. Wants to be here and is happy to compete for his place :)

Still can't get my head around these posts about non-starters moving on. We need a quality 22 not just starting 11. We need to keep hold of him as he adds depth to the squad.

Agree8 Disagree0

Really hope this isn't true. I agree with the poster above that Davis is a quality player and is unlucky along with Cork to not have had more playing time in the first couple of games. I'm sure there will be plenty of opportuites throughout the season for both though!

I doubt this will happen, as it's getting so late in the transfer window and Davis is a very good option for us, and will do an extremely good job when required. Only way it could happen, is if MP believes youth can step up and cover the gap left. I guess he's seen enough of the 2nd string now to know that.

Davis is really underrated plays well when picked scores goals and tackles well. Are you reading this Gaston R. We would be crazy to sell him to Palace where I suspect Holloway will put him straight into his first 11.

Agree4 Disagree1

I suspect the only team he will go back to is Rangers & probably only when they have returned to the SPL

Agree1 Disagree2

Gaston is not reading this

Agree5 Disagree1

Oh?! sí, yo soy.

Agree1 Disagree0

My hunch would be that Gaston does not read much at all. Point being made is that he should start wanting to play for saints or ship out.

He has talent for sure, let's hope he kicks in for us.

^ gaston hasn't been anywhere near as bad as some make out. He had a few nagging injuries and some family problems, now he"s settled and we'll see much much more than the flashes of brilliance we saw last season

Saints are reportedly looking at Porto and Senegal defender Abdoulaye Ba, 22, on loan. Villa also interested. £400,000 loan fee.

Why would we need him?

Hmmmm. 5'5" player scored with a free header in the box. just an observation.

Agree10 Disagree4

Back up for 'injury-prone' luke shaw? Danny Fox doesn't have half the quality required

Agree7 Disagree5

Seen it, its in the paer. They make up stuff. Cheers for posting it anyway.

Agree6 Disagree2

Targett and Clyne are enough cover for left back, comment about the 5 ft 5 player scoring, mistakes happen, no need to change the defense around because of it, just learn from it, don't see us getting another defender in, especially on loan

Agree5 Disagree1

Nah we don't need him.

Lenny

Agree6 Disagree3

He plays centre back!
