Daily Mirror, this evening, reporting that Southampton have agreed a fee of around £6.5M, which could also see Richard Chaplow going the other way

Believable4 Unbelievable9

For who.?

Agree5 Disagree5

Jay Rodriguez

Agree4 Disagree5

I'd rather get someone with prem experience
Lambert sharp lee are not proven in the prem

Agree2 Disagree5

Burnley have accepted 7 mil for Jay Rodriguez

Agree8 Disagree0

I do believe it's it's 7m and chaplows not going anywhere. Heard this in the echo.

Agree9 Disagree0

Burnley fc will this week confirm Jay rod will join Southampton fc on the 1st July for 6.5m - CTS

looks like today or tomorrow this will be confirmed - i did hear that Eddie Howe wants a loan player as part of the deal

Agree5 Disagree1

Please not richard chaplow, more like forte barnard puncheon

Agree6 Disagree0

It won't be confirmed for a while yet let alone today or tomorrow

Agree2 Disagree1

It's a £6.5m deal with Jay Rodriguez to agree terms.

Agree2 Disagree0

I hope im proven 100% wrong but dont think jay is a premiership player. but best of luck to him

Agree2 Disagree1

It's £7m!!!!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Give them guly, barnard and puncheon and we will take jay rod and charlie austen for 6.5 m

Agree2 Disagree3

His not worth 7 mil

Agree3 Disagree0

Lambart, Sharp, Lee? Grant Holt springs to mind! J Rod is agreed, and all 3 names mentioned will do fine in the Prem. In fact I would say that sharp or Lambert would do pretty well in the Euros. And before you all jump down my throat....... I remember people saying that Chambo wouldn't do well at Arsenal let alone the Champions League!

Agree4 Disagree0

Think Lambert will do ok in prem, similar to holt but I do personally think Sharp will struggle, good 'fox in box' but no pace at all. Whereas although Lambert also has no pace his overall game/awareness/shooting ability/hold up play counters this, this is 1 area saints are let down in lack of pace, although de ridder has it but not yet clicked. This is why we've gone for jay rod over hooper, although by all means not a whippet he does like to run with the ball

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but that's where good old lee comes in and he is one speedy nipper

Agree0 Disagree0

Lambert is better than Holt, always has been, so stop comparing the two!

Raffael of Hertha Berlin is on Nigel Adkins' radar. They were just relegated so maybe a cheap player to pick up.

Believable7 Unbelievable11

Oh great, linked with another player that wasnt good enough for their current league.

Agree5 Disagree6

So Junior hoilett wasn't good enough for the premiership then? Get a grip.

Agree10 Disagree3

Or matt jarvis, yakubu, robinson to name a few?

Agree3 Disagree4

Relegated teams doesn't mean every individual player is useless!

Prime example: Podolski was relegated with Cologne and now is playing for Arsenal... would you turn his signature down? No of course you wouldn't!

Muppets on here think that Southampton are too good for relegated players, we need to be realistic and make clever, cheap investments. Not just buy big names already in the prem.

Hey Saints fan Ireland here great to see them back in the big time. Just looking at the rumours here few decent players mentioned. Ince looks like he might be the part alright phillips better in my opinion. Think there is better options out there proven players is what we need for first season back and build on that. As for Hooper I just think its a huge risk id bang a few goals in Scotland :).. Look at McDonald and Boyd really struggled in championship premiership is another step up again. Yak i know an ex pompey but know where the net is 17 goals at a very poor Blackburn side. Lukaku would be decent loan signing I think. Def need a keeper to push davis aswell and a cb with speed think we lack abit of pace there.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Hooper at least managed to score a decent amount in the Championship too....

Agree7 Disagree4

As long as we stay in the premier league Im happy out be it hooper the yak or whoever else....

Agree5 Disagree2

Whats there to disagree with in that comment could ya tell me :)

Saints are set to make an offer of £2m plus Jason Puncheon for Blackpools Tom Ince- source Sky Sports

Believable21 Unbelievable3

God I hope this comes true!!

Agree13 Disagree1

Am I the only saints fan who wants to keep Puncheon, he played well for Blackpool when they where in the prem and in my opinion is our 2nd best winger behind lallana

Agree7 Disagree8

Puncheon has obviously really upset Adkins. We don't want anything to disrupt the dressing room. He can be a very good Championship player, but not Premiership. Get rid.

Agree9 Disagree6

Yeah i agree not good influence

Agree5 Disagree2

Phillips and Ince for 5 million + Puncheon

Agree9 Disagree0

He did not upset Adkins, his argument was with Cortese, hence the remarks on twitter.

Agree5 Disagree0

You are alone.get rid

Newly promoted Southampton FC are looking to beat Swansea City at the eleventh hour to the signing of Hoffenheim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson. He is available for £7million and Saints' chairman Nicola Cortese has authorised the transfer. While Sigurdsson spent half of last season on loan at the Liberty stadium, he is believed to be keen on living near his former home outside Reading.

Believable6 Unbelievable16

All wrong Swansea have aggred 6.5 mil for him today

Agree12 Disagree8

Stop posting rubish for the sake of it, boring as hell and you let yourself down.

Agree9 Disagree6

He's agreed personal terms with Swansea, and the fee is £6.8 million

Agree7 Disagree5

If he was to go back to newly promoted club, Mcdermott (manager of Reading) would want him back mon his side yet again.
