Italian press are reporting that Taider is being sold to Sassuolo for 7 million euros (by Inter Milan of course)

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Well that was short lived, now we will see if les is up to his job, with all the money the squad is desperately thin in areas, 3 days to go

Agree4 Disagree0

Looked a good addition what the f*** is going on

Agree6 Disagree3

Yup loan being terminated after 23 days, shame as we could of done with having a little bit of depth.

Agree4 Disagree0

29 Aug 2014 22:43:01
This may sound stupid but is that possible if he has signed a loan contract?

Agree3 Disagree1

29 Aug 2014 22:56:41
if he don't want to be at saints bugger off back and get players in that do want to play for us. so does that mean we are now after 3 more players? looking forward to Monday for the end of the window think we will be busy

Agree6 Disagree1

29 Aug 2014 23:03:32
Where does that leave Osvaldo deal? Any reason as to why loan was terminated? Certainly going to be an interesting 3 days.

Daniel Agger on verge of signing for Bronby. Would be a fantastic signing for around £3m. plus they owe us at least 1 Signing. Go! ROKO Go!

Agree5 Disagree0

Totally disappointed with Saints board not quick enough or willing to spend what's need to bring players to Southampton.
Maybe the mass exodus has made players think twice.
Or maybe the board were totally insincere in saying we will spend it all on players and wages
If you want top four you must spend top gourmet money. I think tier are just happy to stay in the league which is why they all went in the first place NO AMBITION

Agree7 Disagree14

This is madness! But yes, in theory it is possible. If the club who own him include a recall option in his loan deal. It's not possible if he'd have actually been sold to us to be sold again.

Agree1 Disagree0

We have made good additions to the team, I think they are very strong and lack a bit of pace is the only thing. We still have January transfer window to spend in when it comes. I think a winger now then assess the squad and other players and possibly add more in january. From watching the liverpool game and second half of the millwall game we won't get relegated no way! I will eat my own shit if we do!

Agree4 Disagree3

Dont worry - who wants players who don't care about the club - just their wages - that's cost chelski £500m over the past 10 years - and look at ManU - since they sold or retired the players who really cared and tried to buy their success - Di Maria - what does he care about ManU - nothing. So let's just take a season - rebuild and play the long game - yes I had 3 pints earlier - but this is the model that works - grow your own.

He's leaving because he couldn't adapt to Koeman's training regime. Don't think it's that bad, with A winger coming in, means we've still got Cork and Davis on the bench

Agree6 Disagree2

Davis on the bench?

Agree5 Disagree2

The Echo says that Koeman was not really that impressed with him anyway, which makes sense as he did not even play him on Tuesday evening!

Agree5 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 01:52:54
Gingersaint your spot on. Koeman wanted more from him but he thought he knew it all, typical big time Charlie. Looked a decent player but well I trust Koeman and hear that cork is winning him over. Plus a chance for homegrown reed.
Heard strong interest in Redmond who will be a quality signing and possible centre back which makes me wonder about gadic (or someone spelt like that!) otherwise shopping done.

Agree4 Disagree0

I wonder how many algerians bought shirts.

Agree4 Disagree0

"Ambition" a fans code word for reckless spending. Then blame the Board when the club goes bankrupt.

You can't force players to sign and the club needs to be able to afford wages over the full length of a contract.

Good article on the Guardian site today about Man Utd. Ashley Young earns £115,000 a week. That's £11.9 million for the last 2 years of his contract. Javier Hernandez earns £88,000 a week.

The Southampton squad looks good so far. Nothing to worry about.

Agree8 Disagree8

The board really need to pull their finger outa their ear and business done and stop penny pinching roko has given up one of the best clubs in Holland and a chance at champions league that's more than enough for some managers

Could it be an opening for Claisse? With the distinct possibility of a Townsend plus cash for Morgan happening on the final day. Since we will be in need of a deep lying playmaker, who can also play as a box to box midfielder. Plus we won't need Morgan's tackling and interceptions since Wany is playing up to his potential that he showed against Barcalona The Taider deal always struck me as a way to get Dani off the books and Inter were looking to get rid of Taider and that shi*ty winger. Ronald clearly doesn't rate him that highly so it is really a win win.

Agree0 Disagree7

30 Aug 2014 09:19:56
"Rumour" has it Taider was more interested in practising leg overs than step overs, so I suspect it is more to do with his attitude and RoKo has seen his lack of commitment and decided to get rid quick.

Some of you keep on saying about us reaching the top 4. Be realistic people without massive investment which can't happen under the FFP rules ( apart from QPR of course ) we will never be more than the also rans. Top players, especially foreign players, will only play in this country for the top sides or ones that they grew up knowing about. We can't attract most of the players we are interested in because we won't spend stupid money on fees and wages. Many of the top teams are in serious debt but somehow seem to be able to get the money to buy the status players. Real Madrid at the last time I looked were about 600 million euros in debt but because the major shareholders are the banks in Spain it doesn't seem to apply to them. If we tried to emulate that sort of thing we would be back to 5 years ago and having to play that lot down the road. Taider is supposedly gone, so what, I'd never heard of him a month ago and probably won't remember his name in a months time. The whingeing can start Tuesday morning if we don't bring in the CB and pacey wide man. 72 hours is a very long time in football. Have faith.

Agree4 Disagree3

I do despair at some of our fans and peoples ability to miss interpret a few words. The board never said they would spend all the transfer money on transfers and wages, they said it would be re invested in the team which it has been. All being well further money will be spend taking the spend to well over 50m to rebuild the squad which is much better long term. I'm sorry but spending that amount of money shows ambition, we're one of the biggest spenders in Europe. Let's be honest, this summer has made it harder to attract players but only 12mths ago we couldn't attract a decent striker and had to take a punt on osvaldo and look how that turned out. Fans that would rather bankrupt the club for one good season are insane. Look at Pompey.

Agree completely. Some fans on here try and think of any reason to blame the board. A player doesn't like our training and wants to cancel his loan, all Les Reeds fault! I'd rather be 'penny pinching' and get good deals for players, than spend 80k a week on wages and end up like we did 5 years ago!

My concerns with him going back without kicking a ball for us are a. Was he forced on roko and in which case what else has been. B. Surely the 'amazing' scouting network should have had a basic idea of him. C. That is another player gone. We severely lack depth with little time left

Clasie has signed contract extension a feyenoord

Chrisdownj, clover. Good posts.

The board has done well. Nothing they could do about players wanting to leave.

Sometimes the fans are to blame for unrealistic expectations

Morgan, Victor, Davis, James WP, Jack Cork, Reed. I think we lack depth, but definitely not in midfield

Agree2 Disagree0

First time poster here. I had to register to express my frustration at some of the negative posts here. Commitment has been shown by the board, look at our spend in the last 3 months. Whilst not overly impressed with LR he's made some decent buys in an extremely difficult period.

We do need players obviously. I see that Man City are prepared to allow Sinclair and Nastasic leave before the window closes. No reason why we couldn't afford them (incl. wages). Another striker would be good but can't see anyone decent available. And for those who think Long was overpriced at £12M, Leicester have made an increased bid of £8M for David McGoldrick!!

30 Aug 2014 21:06:29
Wandering Saint, Shane Long was over priced at 12m but unfortunately that is about where it is these days. Very limited choice at anything under 20 - 25 million, the whole thing has got out of hand. Reminds me of a poker player with limitless finance who can just keep putting the stakes up till everybody drops out. I think this is so wrong and there should be a ceiling a player can cost. In that way the player would have to choose who he wanted to play for and in that way show complete commitment. It will never happen I know but in truth the big clubs with all the money can fight amongst themselves leaving the rest of us competing in our own mini league. I think that has taken the sport out of football.

Morgan when interviewed tonight didn't fill me with confidence about him staying. When directly asked whether he was staying at Southampton he replied " I believe I may " to me that sounds a bit worrying. Don't think he wants to which is worrying.

Agree0 Disagree0

Playing it cagey! He would grab a new contract if offered and his commitment to SFC shows he deserves it!

The only time davis will be on the bench is if we've won the game and he fancys a little sit down on the way back to the changing rooms

another big name signing by reed
forestsaint

Agree5 Disagree3

It's such a comically pathetic rumour that it's almost bound to be true. Not even good enough for Stoke - 5 appearances in 2 years, spent much of last season on loan at Barnsley.

Makes perfect sense that Saints would view him as a quality addition to their "ambitious" squad.

Tick tock, Krueger, "judgement day" is fast approaching. The promise of a "stronger roster" is looking pretty hollow as things stand.

Keep raising those ticket prices while greatly reducing the quality of the product - that'll keep everyone happy, Ralph, I'm sure.

Agree7 Disagree12

If we are in for loans we should try welbeck. desperate times. this is what happens when a clueless clown called les reed sells players without having replacements lined up. worst manager in PL history running "everything football".
If this is is the best we can do I fear its going to be a very long lack lustre season.

Agree6 Disagree12

If they was going to leave cortese or no cortese why did they only leave after it was made clear wot the future holds.
I fully agree with u about cleverly though

Hope this is a wind up, surely Redmond or Sinclair are getable targets who will add to the squad.

Agree2 Disagree2

No doubt we will pay 10 million for him because the f***wits in charge at southampton are a true calamitous disgrace.

Agree7 Disagree10

Brek Shea, wow that one is from left field! I had him in my fantasy team, mainly because he was so cheap! this one is "thinking out of the box", why him? hmmmmm. A highly regarded young MLS player, He was drafted 2nd overall by FC Dallas in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft, had several MOM and team of the week honors during his 2011 season, scoring 11 in 31 games. Full USA international ( Jürgen Klinsmann thinks he is good). Came to PL and done nothing to date. So, can we resurrect his career? a full USA intl that comes good would be a gold mine! the USA market is huge and must be in the forefront of Kreugers mind. He will be cheap and wages will be reasonable. Worth the gamble, if he becomes a star he will be worth 100x the fee. North Americans are getting all the pl soccer (i know its football to us). We have been attracting many admirers for our style and academy, new fans are looking for clubs to identify with. Manu are no longer a easy choice, and many like the underdogs with talent like SFC. This "out of the box" transfer may end up as a stoke of genius.

Agree8 Disagree3

So where was he at the WC

Agree3 Disagree1

Lets stop about & bring in Welbeck Townsend & Nastasic, we have the money & i'm sure loan deals can be arranged if permanent deals have to wait until the summer. Pay peanuts you get monkeys. . Tadier seams to have be a master stroke, he's homesick already & wants to go back to italy. . . Who the hell is brokering these deals. oh yes Les Reed! lol. . . COYR

Agree3 Disagree3

This is hardly desperate times, everyone needs to calm down -_-

Agree6 Disagree5

Joking obviously. No way could Southampton afford Welbeck, Natastic and Townsend, nor does the club have that sort of money
