Burnley have enquired about taking Danny Fox on loan

Believable6 Unbelievable3

We should look into a deal which sees burnley take danny fox and us get ings but we pay some money aswell

Saint Hodgy

Agree9 Disagree4

We should look into a deal where we pay ANYONE to take Fox off our hands. The farther away from the starting XI he gets, the better!

Agree10 Disagree9

There is also an article on Notts Forest looking at Fox after giving up on Wallace from Rangers.

Hamble Chris

Agree6 Disagree1

He won't leave he'll run down his contract I bet you

Agree5 Disagree5

We won't get another left back of his quality for a similar price on his wages. We should keep him and wait for Targett to progress

Agree5 Disagree7

Quality? are you high? we should be phoning other teams and inquiring weather they will let us drop him off to them

st stuie

Agree4 Disagree4

Sell him! He was a good championship player, but unable to cope in the premier league. Clyne can fill in should Shaw be injured and hopefully Target will be ready next seson

Agree7 Disagree0

Some opinionated Saints fans, enthusiastically slagging off our own players.

I wish we could transfer some Saints fans, for the ones from Yeovil for instance

Agree8 Disagree2

As a Forest fan. is Fox a decent signing for us? Bit of negative feedback from a few of you!

Agree2 Disagree0

Forest Fan - he's not as bad as people make out. He is one of our players, like Guly, that certain sections of the crowd love to hate, so no matter what he does he isn't good enough in their eyes. I bet you can name a player for Forest in the same mould?

His problem is he is back-up to Shaw, so that is who he gets compared against and the top half of the Premiership is probably one step too far for him.

In the Championship he would serve Forest well. As far as I know he's a good squad player and doesn't whinge when he doesn't play [publicly anyone] so a good professional.

He's covered in tattoos so he fits the stero-type perfectly as a bonus

Agree5 Disagree2

Cheers. got to be better than Harding. See you next year

Agree5 Disagree1

Harding was decent at Saints.

Fox is good at championship level. His attacking play is premiership standard, he has a wicked left foot which fed Lambert during our championship season. Defensively however he is terrible. If you're challenging for promotion though you can probably sacrifice defensive capabilities because you won't be under pressure from other teams so much. For that reason Fox is a very very good top championship player, but the defensive requirements in the prem are too much.

"See you next year". ambitious bunch aren't you. My money is on Leicester, QPR and Reading but best of luck!

LondonSaint

Agree5 Disagree0

That's funny! I work with a Forest fan and he says the same thing about Harding. He was brilliant for us.

Agree1 Disagree0

I can't see Reading going up and I pray for not having to have QPR in the Premier League, they have a small ground and a horrible owner. And their manager is a financially irresponsible moron. I liked QPR before the takeover by their current lot.

ssn reporting Juventus want the thug that is Osvaldo. Take him away. Possible swap deal with Mirko Vucinic, or perhaps loans for both with end of season full transfers?

Believable13 Unbelievable3

I'd do a swap for Vidal any day even though he's not a striker

Agree10 Disagree0

I love Vidal but I think he's truly happy at Juventus and it'd take more than Osvaldo to persuade Juve to replace him

Agree5 Disagree1

Tbh I think that milko vucinic rumour would not be good because he is not exactly young and I would rather see some one who will keep growing better in the future

Agree5 Disagree3

A thug? There was an incident & he reacted. Big deal & hardly makes him a thug. Anyway juventus are apparently interested however have also stated that tnry must sell before they can buy so unless that happens before friday then ossie is with us until summer

Agree9 Disagree3

We have good young strikers, age doesn't matter right now as long as they have 3 or 4 good seasons left in them we should be willing to take a striker for their finishing as it will hugely help the young Rodriguez and Gallagher as well as getting us many more goals.

Agree3 Disagree1

Yes but it would be nice to see someone a bit younger than 30

Agree2 Disagree2

Gallagher has outstanding potential although we need someone of a proven goalscoring record right now to finish off those vital games. Gallagher could have scored a hat-trick v arsenal but was under so much pressure

Agree3 Disagree0

Gallagher could of scored a hat-trick? absolute personic statement, he had one clear chance that came at him very quickly and the keeper was on him like a ton of bricks, wake up pal, he played great but no way did he have anywhere close to that many clear chances.

Strange merry go round occurring
Osvaldo Saints to Juve
Vucinic Juve to Inter
Guarin Inter to Utd
Hernandez Utd to Saints

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Not happening, Hernandez to us is a big no no.

Agree9 Disagree0

Why not, I think Hernandez would be agreat signing

Agree5 Disagree5

It would be a great signing for us, which is why it won't happen. Utd can't afford to let him go.

Agree4 Disagree1

Utd would want Shaw in exchange, let's stick with young Sam and count our blessings.

I have it on reasonably good authority that Osvaldo is set to fly to Italy tonight in preparation for the completion of a deal.

Seems a shame to me because he was quite a good player and given more time who knows if he could have turned into a real talent. I guess the squad unity matters more than the individual talent. I would hope we are at least breaking even on him though because he is still a talented player.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

What? Talented? If you want to see talented look at the players coming through the ranks. Osvaldo was a trouble maker, he was never more than a week away from bad press, publicity or a ban! I thought he was a ropey signing from the start, we would have been better off going for someone else in the summer, he has scored one good goal and that was it. Sorry, but our teamwork rate and squad harmony is FAR more important than some pre Madonna Italian that said before the ink even dried on his contract, that he wanted to play for boca juniors!

Agree6 Disagree3

Pre-Madonna? So before 1958 then? Did you mean prima donna? Yes, we have one of the best academies in Europe and I am positive there are more good players to come through but let's be realistic. Osvaldo is a full international and is apparently being courted by some top clubs. I would suggest he is currently better than the kids we have waiting to make the step-up to the first team. Lambert is past his best, bless him, and Rodriguez needs four good chances to score once - a common theme at SFC. We should only sell/loan Osvaldo if a suitable striker can be bought/loaned in. Also, does anyone really know what made him snap at Fonte? Was Fonte verbally abusive? Even the greatest players of all lose it occasionally. Like Zidane in a World Final. Give him a chance if he stays. We are supposed to be supporting the team, not constantly deriding them.

Agree4 Disagree4

Regardless of whatever fonte said or did dosnt condone a headbutt to the face let's be realistic here osvaldo could be in massive trouble in the eyes of the law yeah head is a weapon it's ABH for god sake I love osvaldo as a player but sadly he's got to go

Southampton Make enquiry about the possible signings of.

Mirko Vucinic
Luis Muriel
Davide Astori
Kris Commons

But also the possibility of loan signings

-Lewis Holtby
-Alex Oxlade Chamberlain

What do you guys think will happen in the coming days?

Also do you think saints will sign anyone ed?

Saint Hodgy

Believable4 Unbelievable15

Would love to see any of those permanent deals go through, apart from commons, he would not cope in prem. it's about time astori joined and we need a striker like Muriel or vucinic

Agree9 Disagree0

Would love holtby great player him and lallana would tear s*** up

There's talk of Luis Muriel inside of Staplewood Right now discussing the terms and conditions of his contract in signing for the saints, No one is quite sure at this stage. But there was a photo leaked to the internet of him and his agent in a car drove by what is said to have been his agent

Could this be the move we need?

We also are meant to be back in for Davide Astori and also if osvaldo ends up going to Juventus there could be the possibility of signing Mirko Vucinic

Believable2 Unbelievable12

Where is the leaked picture?

Agree9 Disagree1

I can see the Astori rumours making some sense but, not so sure about the Muriel talk. I thought he signed a 5 year deal with Udinese back in September. Where's a link to this leaked picture? Still you never know. All will be revealed in the next couple of days.

Agree4 Disagree1

All made up rubbish he was at st Mary's last night and not one of the 30,000 surpporters there got a picture Of him?
Jackanory!

Agree4 Disagree0

No business is done at Staplewood or St Mary's, I don't understand why people continue to claim that we do

Agree1 Disagree2

No business done at St Marys or Staplewood that was when Cortese was at the club. things may have changed now

Not a rumour, just read that Lewis holtby could be available on loan,
Would we have have him?

Tonythesaint

Believable4 Unbelievable5

I'd have him quite happily tbh, But is there anymore news on

Luis Muriel
Davide Astori
Mirko Vucinic

Agree2 Disagree0

Thought he was going to Shalke?

Agree1 Disagree0

Lewis Holtby would be a great addition, however Spurs only paid 1. 75m for him and are asking 8-10m, I'd guess he's on fairly high wages due to his initial low transfer fee. My reckoning is that we'll swerve it, with JWP, Cork, Davis, Morgan and Wanyana we're not struggling in the centre of the park. Think we will only trade if Osvaldo goes, another striker coming in. Perhaps an attacking midfielder with flair, as Gaston injured and still not stepped up to the mark along with Puncheon's moonlit flit, we could do with someone like Thomas Ince. I'd like Gallagher to be the striking option and cash in on Osvaldo in the summer.

Agree1 Disagree4

Pocchetino mentioned scouts are working abroad and in England so it's likely a player from the prem or championship would join aswell as from europe

Agree3 Disagree1

Spurs signed Holtby on a free, but paid that money to get him last January rather than wait till the summer. He's a good player but not sure if he's what we need.

Agree1 Disagree0

So. they didn't sign him on a free then

Agree2 Disagree0

Ok fine no it wasn't a free transfer in the end, but initially it was. An injury to Sandro forced Spurs to pay a measly £1.5m to get Holtby there sooner as he already had agreed to join for free in the summer. My point before was that his transfer cost was so low because Schalke would have lost him for nothing in the summer of get £1.5m in January. He would have cost Spurs £5-8m (IMO he's worth somewhere between that). But irrelevant really as 1. I can't see him coming here and 2. We don't need him.
