On BBC Sport website and read on many sites than Cork is in advanced talks with Swansea, would hate this to be true. Although Depay would be a fantastic replacement, I would prefer to keep our English players and I feel Cork was a real fan favourite.

Depay is a winger so wouldn't replace Cork, although I would definitely like him :) Vilhena is a linked replacement for Cork

The situation with Cork is that first Saints didn't renew his contract soon enough, then in the summer, Saints accepted a £3m bid from Palace, which fell through with the departure of Pullis.
While Cork has proved to Koeman that he is a valuable player, Cork feels let down by the club, and also feels that as Saints continue to strengthen he will get less game time.
Where did I hear this? His wife is friends with friends of mine.

I honestly can't see Cork staying unless there was a big contract on offer, but he also needs regular football - something that we seem to be offering Jack less and less these days.

On a personal note, Jack is settled at Southampton, and loves it, but he feels that he needs to move on to further his career, and to gain regular first team football.

Shame. He's a good player, but a squad player. If he wants to be a regular starter - which, at this stage of his career he appears to - then he's probably right to look elsewhere.

He would never be first choice in any of the midfield roles, IMHO.

Wish him all the best. Saints need to replace him, though, as the squad can't afford to be thinned down anywhere.

All Cork had to do was when given the chance then play that good that Koeman would keep him in - unfortunately we have players that are better. This is no disrespect to Jack. Get the best price as possible if he is determined to go. Puzzled as why Swansea is the preferred choice. Reliable sources are indicating Filipino Djuricic (who can play anywhere along the front line and midfield) is being sought to come in on loan as a view to buy at end of season. He will be a very good addition and a good companion for fellow Serbian Tadic. Yoshida and Mane back and could feature on Sunday at some stage COYR's

jack is a good player and it will be sad to see him go but think that st chris has hit the nails on the head and suspect that saints are already thinking of how we will improve the squad as move forwards

Surely if Cork is to leave he must be worth more than 5 million?

Not with a contract that runs out in the summer and can go for free then

I hate to say this, but cork and wanyama basically do the same thing, and wanyama is more physical, so he is the 'better' player.

Cork and Wanyama play in the same role, but Wanyama outshines him in every aspect, especially the key ones in a holding midfielder (strength and heading ability) He has been good for us, but it wouldn't work out for both parties and i wish him the best of luck!

Radio Solent reporting Jack Cork in talks with Swansea City over a permanent move to the Liberty stadium.
Gutted.

Well if its true that puts pay to my rumour that I heard. If he goes he goes. He is our fourth choice DM ( I think RK prefers Reed and/or Alder when Vic and Spider aren't there. He wants game time so unfortunately he wants to move on.

BBC sport are also reporting this, I'm also gutted, we'll need to replace in the window as we'll need the depth of squad to retain our current position

This would be fantastic, although most Saints fans have always thought it unrealistic. I'm off work atm and spend most days scouring the internet for news and I haven't seen it.

It has been alleged by a hit-whoring website but I wouldn't put your front gate let alone your mortgage on there being any truth in it at all. Would be good but don't think so do you ?

Heard a rumour that we are in talks with Burnley about a swap deal involving Jack Cork and Danny Ings.
Makes sense to me as we have Reed coming through plus potentially Targett as cover for DM.

Not a chance. Burnley and Ings himself have repeatedly stated that he's going nowhere thsi season. Maybe in the summer things will change.
