I think Nigel Adkins will have secured at least a couple of bosman signings and kept them under raps, hopefully we will find out tomorrow 1st of July is usually when these signings officially go through. Can't wait for this season to get underway COYS! {Ed038's Note - Good to someone positive!}

Believable8 Unbelievable2

I was hoping to see a new player in the kit unveiling but hopefully we have signed to unheard beauties, like a new Akinfenwa or something

Agree1 Disagree7

No striker is needed ^

Agree8 Disagree0

Try not to get too disapointed

Agree3 Disagree2

We need a we centre bak or 2 and a winger whos got class

Agree5 Disagree0

We need a goalkeeper we have only got kelvin Davis . If kelvin Davis is injured we have no goalkeeper

Agree3 Disagree0

^ We have Tommy Forecast!! :/ Hopefully getting Butland though COYR

Agree1 Disagree1

We need a GK,LB, RM and a CAM. A bit worried we've only signed a striker so far.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't that tell you a new GK is on the way?

I want your opinions on this i mean everyone! people say we need a RW, well i don't think so we have Steve De Ridder! Nobody thinks he will play well in the premier league but NC & NA brought him because he will only improve as he's still young! we have front men and LW & RW players all we need is CAM, CB (maybe two) and a RB that's all i think IMO but what do you guys think and who do you think we will get?
Spoon ;)

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Think even if De Ridder does step up, we will need cover in RM. Guly is to lazy and will be found out in the Prem and we will need to stiffen up the defence. Fox and Hoivield are the only 2 cut out for prem in our back. Need Butland to for Davis gradual replacement

Agree9 Disagree4

Nigel Adkins rates Steve De Ridder! Guly yeah i agree but he could surprise and as for our defense i agree again! it needs to be made solid but again i think Nigel Adkins knows what he is doing and will surprise a lot of saints fans with who he actually gets!
Spoon ;)

Agree6 Disagree0

I agree we defo need a centre back, possibly two. Fraser did Ok at right back but time will tell if he is prem class cause he does get caught out of position a lot but he is great going forward. De Ridder is gonna be class but the prem may have come a little too soon for him. My main concern is lack of pace in the team. Morgan is quality but lacks that extra yard to take him away from people. How quick is Jay? I'm not sure. A pacy centre back is a must so that is where we need to looking in the transfer market. Probably 2-3 more out field players plus a goalkeeper obviously and I think we will do just fine. COYR

Agree6 Disagree0

I think De Rids will be a very dangerous player next year, but lets face it - only when attacking. He has the defensive know how of a prostitute guarding her honour. As for Guly, how the guy above you can slack him off for being lazy I don't know. Lazy is not the word becuase he runs around and tracks back like no ones business. The word is frustrating because while he has the ability he seems to be very hit or miss going forward. That said the guy was a striker and a Brazilian at that, who was being made to play in RM and not as a winger even. He was out of position and forced to adapt to a physical style of play. He will be useful for us in the premier and is clearly held in high regard as a main player due to the fact that he is one of the few who modelled the kits. Also I trust the oppinion of our scouts, coaches and manager over those who slag him off with no actual football experience.

Agree5 Disagree2

De Ridder's final ball is absolutely atrocious. If he sorts it out he'll be a solid asset. Until then, we need someone better than him and Guly.

Agree3 Disagree5

De ridders final ball is poor, and it seems to me he is not comfortable at the moment in a rm position, but sees himself more centrally in attack. he will get better but we need more strength in the rm position. guly tries his best there but is more of a central attacker and to get the best out of him, this is where we should play him. it was oc leaving that caused the reshuffle and it now needs putting right.
morgan is class, and if we can get an attacking cm beside him, i think he will surprise a lot of people next season. we have great depth in defensive cm but a good attacking one-no.
defence is obviously going to be strengthened otherwise why let a gk go and put a cb out on loan? must have at least one more for each position and that leaves right back where i can see the interest in clyne being believable.

Agree2 Disagree1

De Ridder will be used from the bench. I see him as nothing more than an impact player. As we have seen during the Euros every successful side needs a playmaker and someone who can do that something different to change a game. We have Lallana and Guly who fit this mould. As for our back four, I agree that Outfield will be fine, but fox will get murdered for pace and needs to be replaced.

Agree2 Disagree2

To be fair to guly, although some games were awful he was our third top scorer behind lambert and lallana, and although I agree that two or one cb's are needed I think fonte will be able to cope in premier league football! De ridder will be very good, the only position. I think really needs strengthening is right back! And obviously a goal keeper as back up, along with the two sub cb's!

Agree4 Disagree0

It's not that de ridder is not good enough it's that he doesn't play with the team. He doesn't follow the team orders, you can see this all the players go into the enemy box and he cuts in not crosses ewe need a team player with class

Agree2 Disagree0

Clyne for RB

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with most things that are being said. I think Steve will come good. He just needs to work on crosses and perhaps a bit more attention on when to pass and when to go it alone. He was starting to track back last season but initially he clearly struggled with that! I also think that he may have been a bit of a victim of his own success. We all saw the youtube video and perhaps over-hyped him in our heads. Then when he wasnt banging in goals from 30 yards each week, we got a bit disappointed. I have faith though. Guly, not so much. I think he struggled at championship level. Given his age, I dont really see him making the step up to premiership. He has been great for us in the lower leagues, if not really lazy..., so we should thank him for that. Cork and Spidy are both becoming great players, but both lean towards defensive CM roles, though its clear they are working hard on playing further up the pitch. Cork put in some great crosses towards the end of last season. I would guess that Adkins will be looking for a player similar to Lallana. Someone good with both feet, who can cut in and cross, swap sides with Lallana, giving that extra attack in midfield, leaving Cork and Spidy sat behind. So I think we need a RM (Butner?), RB (Clyne would be amazing, but I doubt we'll stand a chance), cover for CB (mariappa would be great, loads of potential and it'd really upset the Reading fans!) and a cover goalie (Butland, but I dont think we should spend 6m+ on him). Bar that, I think most of our players will make the step up. COYR's!

Pretty much agree with the above post.

Agree2 Disagree1

Motherwell FC Chris HUMPHREY ideal R/W with the speed to cause problems. Watch this space.

Agree2 Disagree0

Lightening quick wide man for not much money. If we don't get Sinclair this guy will come in on half the wages. Be ideal for me.

So in Summary, the new kit has been and gone, and still no new signings.... We were promised 2 signings by the end of Friday by people on this board, where are they!! Also the kits, hmmmm, not sure what to say lol. Leaning in the dislike side of things but I may like it more when I see it on. The shirt fabric seems really cheap in the close up of Lee's archer celebration.

Believable5 Unbelievable8

He said hoping for 2 guess they didn't turn out and its just a kit there will be a new one next year !

Agree2 Disagree0

"Promised" is a bit strong. Nigel's words were "I am HOPEFUL of getting ONE or TWO more in before the start of the season, MAYBE even by the time the players return for pre-season on the 28th." People on here and elsewhere left out the 'maybe'.

One or two tho has me worried. I think we need at least 4 maybe 5 new players. And maybe a couple more in Jan. Still, in NA and NC we (have to) trust right? :)

And personally I think the new kit looks great. Nothing wrong with stripes but I like having a new kit for a new era.

COYR!

Agree8 Disagree0

C'mon people. If, after a massive upturn of events like we have experienced the last two seasons, you are even slightly thrown by things like shirt design, shirt fabric, and not signing the players you expect at a time you expect, then you are not real fans. Go back to Football Manager in your virtual reality. In short, get real!

Agree9 Disagree1

How can anyone say that new kit is nice we are saints we play in red and white stripes hate the new kit, whats next a revamp of the badge ? Need to see some major signings to get over the revolting sight of that home kit. {Ed038's Note - Support your team and stop moaning about the kit}

Agree6 Disagree7

Well said, Ed

"How can anyone say that new kit is nice we are saints we play in red and white stripes hate the new kit, whats next a revamp of the badge ? Need to see some major signings to get over the revolting sight of that home kit. " look again, you blind? its thin whit strips!! and our old kit ls just like Sunderlands kit! and Stoke! So you aint a saints fan! a real saints fan follows the club with pride and doesn't moan about something they don't like about our club! Simple ain't it don't like the kit follow Stoke or Sunderland Ok :)
Spoon ;)

Agree9 Disagree1

Look, unless you're Gok Wan, it's got our badge on it and a Premier League logo on it {Ed038's Note - Couldn't post the last bit}

Agree7 Disagree0

Our kit has not always been the bold red and White stripes. Stop moaning!

Agree7 Disagree0

A lot of saints envy on here.had to come back a log way.dont begrudge us our moment

Agree1 Disagree0

Alright Ed Trev ere again any news? i think the new kit is quality and still has stripes! So yeah for the people moanin get back to footie manager i for one cant wait to play Fifa13 in the new 'premierleague' kit rant over up the saints! {Ed038's Note - Nothing new today mate, I like the new kit too and the away one its different}

Agree2 Disagree1

Yes Trev! :D Saints are going to bring it next season!!
Spoon ;)

Agree2 Disagree0

Would have prefered some more white on it but it is a decent kit. I'm sure people can survive the season having to watch Saints crush teams in a red kit.

Agree3 Disagree0

Could be worse; could be blue....

Agree5 Disagree0

Spoon its called tradition i have been watching saints since 1974 thru thick and thin and its been a lot of thin, so if we change our kit to pompey blue you would accept that as well, many teams play in red and white its never been a problem in the past and having stood in the ******* rain in the archers watching my team i resent you saying im not a fan being a fan does not equate to accepting anything the club does, i am not a sheep that follows blindly i follow passionately and do not wish to look like a wishy washy 82 liverpool side ! be proud of our colours and stick to the tradition of red and white stripes ! not pin stripes !

Agree2 Disagree4

^ The kit is not important this year, strength of squad and support will be key, im waiting for a few signings in key areas and personally i like the new kit, it is a matter of opinion so there is no need to trust your opinion at everyone else as i a pretty sure none of the board care about your personal view so keep it to yourself.

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry mate you maybe a passionate supporter but times change and stuff moves on much like our club which is going places and it is red and white! just all red with thin white strips which looks Snazzy and if you truly are a saints fan you will know that we have to adapt to new things under a new owner and manager and tbh i'm glad they changed it because i'm proud to be a saints fan and you may say you follow them passionately but mate a passionate follower doesn't moan about what the club decides to do they wear the shirt with pride! no matter how bad it is
and at least ours has changed, look at the Norwich fans they are buy a new kit which only has one difference the neck of the shirt!
I'm not here to argue i'm here to point out we are a team of supports which should stand behind our team through everything!
Spoon ;)

Agree3 Disagree2

And tradition mate, its time for change :) so Cmon mate we stand together every sat watching our team we should stand as one not argue!
Spoon ;)

Agree5 Disagree1

We need understudy keeper two full backs centre back midfield and one wide man.Until then we will struggle.

Agree1 Disagree1

Spoon, you are a muppet.
And ED, I'm sure your views on kit would very different if Joe Lewis foisted white stars and navy blue on your beloved Spurs kit for this season to attract the US fans?
