With the new year comes the fun of the January transfer window. Several deals are rumoured to be completed for multiple clubs. As for Southampton we are rumoured to be trying to get our deals done fast with some big names listed as potential signings.
I've heard of 3 players who have apparently had contact with Cortese and Adkins about moves to St Mary's from a few people. Supposedly Cortese has been busy and Saints could be about to welcome Ter Stegen to St Mary's in a player+cash deal with Boruc moving out. Further rumoured deals are Dejan Lovren being taken and Wellington Nem but the signature of Nem particularly faces stiff competition and his own club are not too willing to let the player go.
Rumoured outs for Southampton in January include Steve De Ridder with a few Championship clubs interested so as of yet we do not know where to but a high likelihood of him leaving. Further rumoured outs include Dan Seaborne permanent to Charlton, Ryan Dickson permanently (possibly a free transfer) to Plymouth Argyle and Lee Barnard may be leaving on a permanent basis to a league one side. Bournemouth are said to be interested.

Several League 1 clubs are very interested in Dickson, he would have left already but his current wages have proved a stumbling block.

Deals rumoured to be completed? Not a chance, the window isn't open yet!

Several deals are completed with just the opening of the window in the way. Admittedly I may have mis-phrased though I meant to be nearing completion.

Everybody knows deals are "done" before the transfer window opens. Paperwork then sorted in January.

Didn't Dickson refuse a free transfer in the summer? He's happier collecting a higher salary and not playing than playing somewhere else but making less money.

Dickson didn't refuse a free transfer in the summer, he wasn't allowed to leave at the time as he was 2nd choice behind Fox, Shaw has since established himself at LB so Dickson has dropped to 3rd, 4thor even 5th choice behind Shaw, Fox, Reeves and Clyne.

Hi forest fan here,
what do you think the chances are of us signing billy sharp? cheers

Pretty good really. I think he's settled at Forest tbh. I'd love him to come back to saints tho and I'm pretty sure 99% of saints fans would as well, but we can't promise him first team football and he deserves that at least :D hope he does well wherever he ends up :)

Lets face it, there is a real chance of Saints getting relegated (and I sincerely hope not), if so high profile players will undoubtedly leave. Billy will then be welcomed back to St Mary's with open arms, hence the need to keep his registration, and review the situation at the end of the season.

I'd say relatively high IF Southampton stay up. I can't imagine it'll happen in January unless Forest offer the full 3 million we paid for him in the first place. But if the saints manage to retain Premiership status this season then I imagine he'd go for less in the summer as we'd be looking to get him off the books to further improve our team.
Does that answer your question well enough?

50-50 mate. Mate is neighbour of place he and his mrs rented down here and apparently the wife not settled that well. Don't think he'll get first team so think he'll want out. I rate him highly and woul love him to feature for saints but can't see it happening.

It could happen but will probably depend on Saints bringing in another forward. Then it could move forward, depending on Billy wanting the move and you able to pay the fee (probably £2m.)
If it does happen, look after him well, he is a smashing guy.

High at the minute, he's come out and said that he dont wanna come back to southampton in January and made sure that a recall wasnt in the deal, and o'driscoll said the owners like him a lot and want to buy him before he got wrongfully sacked.

Should be unlikely. It would be unwise for us to sell in January because if we do get relegated, we'll want him back.

You probably will get him however I think he's better than Rodriguez

If you offered us 5 million i dont see why not

I think he has his price. Was a supprise he was loaned out, and clear that he's not in our first team picture, so you've got a chance

Probably less than they were for signing McLeish?

Pretty high if we stay up low if we go down

I think most Saints' fans were surprised to see him go and would like him back. We are now playing with a different formation, however, and not sure where we would play him if he did come back. Does anyone know for definite the length and terms of his loan e.g. who's paying his Prem wages and whether the £1.8M sell-on clause was also included in his contract with Saints. End of the season when we both know which division we will be in next season seems more likely?Good to see him doing well for you, though, and best wishes with your promotion bid.

I saw billy sharp outside fitness first in shirley southampton as he was getting ready to go to forest and he said he will not be coming back as NC doesnt want him. There is alot more to this story. Sharp was genuinly gutted to be going and he blamed cortese

If he's being recalled, why did he say he didn't want that in the deal? He's quoted as saying it in their local newspaper.

Whoever it was who disagreed with that comment about me speaking with billy sharp outside fitness first wasn't there, and has no clue to what went on down st marys. I will guarantee billy sharp never plays for saints again. 100% guarantee
