Not sure how reliable this is seeing as the board said they'd prefer no further transfers after Rickie till a manager was in place but there's lots of rumours going around on twitter that Caulker's been spotted on Staplewood.

Unfortunately, most kopites and journalists have come to the conclusion that this means Lovren is signing for Liverpool. Or maybe we just need some depth at CB?

Believable2 Unbelievable12

I hope lovren isent leaving but signing caulker would be a great signing, he's young and English COYS

Agree13 Disagree4

Hopefully just a signing we need some depth there

Agree5 Disagree4

It's more likely he's replacing Fonte than Lovren

Agree9 Disagree4

Here's some wishful thinking.

Koeman has been told he has to integrate Osvaldo into the team otherwise we'll lose too much money on him.

With Lambert gone, and Lallana on his way it leaves Fonte who doesn't like Osvaldo. With Fonte replaced, Osvaldo may be accepted into the team easier?

Osvaldo never looked like scoring enough goals and he hasn't in Italy either.
We needed CB reinforcements and Caulker would give us greater depth and is on the fringe of England recognition.

Agree10 Disagree1

I see hangeland from Fulham has been released, bit long in the tooth but could do a job for us

Agree4 Disagree11

Agree Scriv31. Definitely take Hangeland. We need 4 decent CBs and he could be one of them. Wages would be manageable too.

Agree4 Disagree4

Hope we get him and sign fonte up and keep lovren. Is caulker a possibility ED?

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I would think so.}

Think Caulker's overrated and overpriced, slow and clumsy. But just the mention of Saints actually bringing someone in is a welcome snippet of good news/gossip.

If he were a replacement for Lovren, though, that'd be poor - he's way short of that standard. A few seasons of playing alongside Lovren could be the making of him, however.

As for Osvaldo, if he comes back he comes back. The squad will just have to suck it up. He desperately needs a pre-season somewhere, whether at Saints or elsewhere. Never looked sharp all season, at Saints or Juve.

Agree3 Disagree3

Hangerland was pants when I watched Fulham vs Saints back in April. Certainly no better than Jos Hoiveldt. He always seemd undecided whether to stay and defend the box or come out to meet the attacking player, and got caught in between the two - gave JayRod way too much attacking space.

Only things I could see on twitter about Caulker having medical with us is from Liverpool fans, then most saying 'guess we've got Lovren then'. Prob made up.

Choupo-moting should come to saints?! Any thoughts

Le Tissier should be our new manager IMO or Jason Dodd

Are you Matt Le Tissier's son mitch?

Agree17 Disagree1

No he's a club legend and knows all about the club and it's ideals he and Dodd would be a good duo for us IMO

Agree2 Disagree10

MLT has ruled himself out as Saints manager as he doesn't have the necessary badges and licences and have no plans of getting them. Jason Dodd was sacked as couch for the U-18, and will NOT come back as a manager for the first team. IMO is redundant as you obviously write what is your own opinion, Mitch. Just saying.

Agree6 Disagree0

Yes it is my opinion as everyone has their own opinion. Any way moving on does anyone know of any transfer targets read on ssn app that saints want Hernandez in any deal with Man U for shaw?

Would be great but don't know if it has any substance to it. 25m plus Hernandez? would bite their hand off for that!

Agree2 Disagree0

Hopefully if shaw goes it's worth our while Hernandez would be a great signing and a real show of intent from us! COYR!

Apperently lallana asked sfc to be sold. I for one would be gutted. In my opinion anyone could be replaced except for lallana

Believable10 Unbelievable21

If has asked to go does that mean he waves his fee ed?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed013's Note - Yes if he puts in a transfer request}

No-one is irreplaceable but I know what you mean as he has been huge in our rise from league 1.
If his heart is not with us then we have to make the best of this. But why the rush? Does he not see how much it means to to fans for a Saints player to be at the WC? Also the new manager needs to be in on the process, although they will be well aware of the situation when they take the job. All I would say to AL is to let the club maintain some dignity in these proceedings and go with no animosity.

Agree14 Disagree3

2 goals and 2 assists in his last 14 games for Saints. His season tailed off markedly - especially once Saints' most effective offensive player, Rodriguez, got injured.

I don't think he's irreplaceable at all. Might not get a player of exactly the same style, but there's plenty of very good or potentially very good attacking midfielders/wingers out there.

Agree19 Disagree1

Sadly it would appear Shaw is heading the same way. If they want to leave then let them hand in transfer requests! I just hope other squad members do not follow suit. It is imperative we sort the managerial situation out as soon as possible in an attempt to try and steady the ship. If it is Koeman as reports suggest hopefully he will be able to keep the squad together as he is a big name in the football world

If we can get £30m for Lallana we will be laughing all the way to the bank. As will Bompey. Would be typical Liverpool.

Agree8 Disagree2

I agree - nobody is irreplaceable, and there is always the thought that he may be just reaching his peak as a player now - just as Rickie is probably about 1 season over his - selling at the top of the market is always OK - I think Saints fans are a bit biased by the fee post Saints generated by Bale - but he is probably an outlier.

Agree3 Disagree1

IMO I would rather loose lallana than lovren. He has been immense at the back for us and don't feel he would be as easy to replace. If adam has to go let it be for the best we can get.

Agree17 Disagree3

If AL and LS don't want to stay then let them leave no point keeping them. I think Lamber leaving tipped Ads of the fence to leave IMO. Definitely replaceable just would hate to see him in a Liverpool shirt.

If AL wants to put in a transfer request that's fine. the club will just wait for the right offer. let him squirm for a few weeks, until after the World Cup.If he plays well then he will be a £30m player if he doesn't. then he will still be a £30m player. He seams to have turned into a big time charlie. Clattenburg may not have been wrong after all.

i have just heard lallana has said it should be taken into consideration of his loyalty to saints
he has only recently become an international player
what about all the loyalty and cost what saints have put into getting him where he is now
loyalty is a two way thing
forestsaint

Agree12 Disagree1

I disagree even if their hearts are not in it I still think we should keep them. I don't think their performances will drop. Clubs that sell their best players hardly ever improve just look at Aston villa and spurs and even arsenal the latter have stagnated and villa have dropped massively down the league the board needs to realize that these players will hold their value until next season so might as well invest and go again and look at the situation next year. if we sell lallana shaw and lovren with lambert gone again I can see us fighting relegation then even 30+ mil will look like peanuts.

If its reinvested wisely it will be fine, possibly better as english players are overpriced and we would likely buy from abroad as well as england
