Agree1 Disagree6

Biggest load of rubbish ive heard so far on here regarding southampton, midfielder who was injured for most of last season, hes a 22yo scotsman

Agree6 Disagree3

You wouldn't be disappointed he's a class act. Went with Fergie int to PNE now all Poshies would love him back!

Talks are in a preliminary stage between Saints and ex-saint Wayne Bridge about a possible return to the club. It is believed Adkins wants Bridge to bring some very much needed experience to Saints' back line. Bridge said when he left the club to join Chelsea that he would love to return to the south at the end of his career. The biggest problem behind the deal would be Bridge's wage demands but it is thought that he is willing to cut his wages dramatically to return to his boyhood team. Manchester City are keen to offload and it could be seen as a great addition to a Saints squad that desperately requires Premier League experience.

Believable16 Unbelievable7

If his wages are low enough why not? would give a replacement or back up for the back line and experience hope this works out

Agree11 Disagree3

^ Want this to be true, Fox is good; but not good enough defensivly. Bridge would be good replacment

Agree9 Disagree1

Wayne bridge is past it great player in his day was top quality for saints . wasnt even getting in a crap sunderland side !!

Agree4 Disagree9

I agree and he brings much more experience as wll as real talent. hope he or someone like him joins

Agree7 Disagree0

Bridge past it
need someone younger

Agree4 Disagree4

Nc has said no ex-saints players are going to return

Agree3 Disagree3

So the thing about signing YOUNG, HUNGRY players has completely flew over your heads then?

Agree0 Disagree2

Many of the best players from this seasons Prem have been unproven youth developments, Oxo, Hoilett, Welbeck to name a few. So I'm not sure your view carries much value?
The myth that you have to,buy 'proven' Premier league players on fat wage packets and inconsistent performances has been debunked. No idea why we have sent that constant under achiever, Defoe, to the Euros ahead of Sturridge or others

Agree1 Disagree2

Too much. £4m for Kelvin's understudy? Can't see it

Agree0 Disagree1

Maybe as a squad player but hasn't cut it in the Prem to date and is now over 25. What would he add that we don't have better in Hammond and Chaplow?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ridiculous, anyone criticises Fox only watched Saints on telly last season. Class Premiership defender

Agree3 Disagree2

When did Cortese say that? that sounds true enough though

Agree0 Disagree0

Bridge is on £70k+ a week where he is so why should he move to Saints to get around than half that amount, he is happy not playing by the looks of it and just collecting the money.

Agree1 Disagree1

I am a season ticket holder at saints and last season fox going forward was amazing and his crossing and free kicks are out of this world, but as a defender he is found wanting quite a lot he never stops a cross he hardly lifts a leg when the balls come in just look at the reading game 2 of the goals came from crosses from his side he didn't even lift a leg and again against the skates at home Ethuhu or what ever hes called did him every time and crossed the ball, when he is against the likes of valencia, walcott and nani next season how is he going to come up against these players we can't have the we will score 1 more than you attitude the defence needs sorting or we will be taken the piss out of bridge would be quality for us a half fit bridge is twice the player fox is imo.

Agree3 Disagree0

I'm also a season ticket holder and I agree he's the weak link on out defence so bad I don't think it's even worth having him for set pieces

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Lindegaard of Manchester United has been linked with Southampton. With De Gea finally settling and showing more frequent glimpse of his talent, and with Lindegaard aparently being degraded to third keeper for the Danish national side due to limited playing time in the Premier League, it is believed that Lindegaard views Southampton as a way to move his career forward. A price of 4 million GBP has been mentioned.

Believable7 Unbelievable11

Too much. £4m for Kelvin's understudy? Can't see it

Agree5 Disagree9

So Lindegaard is now 3rd choice as danish keeper because of lack of chances.. why would he come southampton where he will also be sat on the bench ? he would go somewhere where he can be 1st choice now

Agree6 Disagree8

There's a reason he's 3rd choice - he's not any good!!

Agree6 Disagree10

What if kelvin goes on the bench or we do what man u did and circulate them it would really f up other teams attacks- they wouldnt know what type of shot to do.

Agree9 Disagree5

Wouldn know what shot to take are you for real...... lindegard is a good keeper would push Kelvin all the way he kept de Gea out of the team it was only an injury made a balls of the season... Look at the stats when he played for utd this season... bar one blip not to shabby. loan him see how he goes

Agree8 Disagree2

What that guy mens is that teams study where different players strengtha and weaknesses and avoid the strenghts and exploit the weaknesses. this would be hard for teams to do if theyd didnt know what goalie would be used.
i agee though hes a quality goalkeeper wed be lucky to get

Agree5 Disagree2

Kelvins getting old and Lindegaard is a brilliant young keeper and would be a good addition despite being second choice for a year or two

According to the Sun this morning, we are buying ex-Saint Danny Guthrie on a free. Would be a fanstatic signing if true. Especially on a free!

Believable14 Unbelievable3

We wouldn't be buying him on a free because he'd be free!
I'd like to see him back though, he was good in his loan spell and he is a decent player.

Agree8 Disagree1

Maybe as a squad player but hasn't cut it in the Prem to date and is now over 25. What would he add that we don't have better in Hammond and Chaplow?

Agree2 Disagree7

I'd love to see Guthrie back at saints! He is a proven prem player after successfully stepping up to replace Tiote and Cabaye when they were out! And that's exactly what he has over Hammond and Chaplow - prem experience!

Agree9 Disagree0

What are you on about 'we wouldn't be buying him on a free'? He's reached the end of his contract so we dont have to pay a fee for him. What is there not to understand?

Agree2 Disagree0

City united and arsenal all interested now in GK Butland. We've started a bidding war - sun on Sunday, echo, mail

Also why buy j rod it's a 7 million pound gamble on someone who's worse than we already have. We can't afford to drop a single point in the prem and youth development = relegation in my view

Believable6 Unbelievable11

Many of the best players from this seasons Prem have been unproven youth developments, Oxo, Hoilett, Welbeck to name a few. So I'm not sure your view carries much value?
The myth that you have to,buy 'proven' Premier league players on fat wage packets and inconsistent performances has been debunked. No idea why we have sent that constant under achiever, Defoe, to the Euros ahead of Sturridge or others

Agree4 Disagree1

I take your point but those players except hooilet are being played by teams in no danger being relegated and as for hooilet Blackburn had no other choice.

The premierleague players that I hope we buy shouldn't be ego driven t**ts but experienced and ready to play. Whether this means buying from lower teams or abroad I'm not sure

Agree0 Disagree1

End of the day its a game of football. As long as you have 11 on the pitch you are only as good as the other team lets you, OxChambo is a great example - if you got the bottle, you'll do well

Agree4 Disagree1

Rodriguez < Sharp and younger

Agree3 Disagree3

Rodriguez is not greater than Sharp? Seems a pointless thing to post.

Southampton to hi-jack man utds bid for crewes 17 year old striker nick powell, no bid he been made by anyone yet, so saints hoping to be the only one to do so

Believable11 Unbelievable4

Simply never going to happen. If we buy J Rod there's no need to get Powell even if we had a chance to

Agree5 Disagree7

Its building for the future, plus the deal for jay rod is not finished, villa and sunderland have shown intrest in the last day. even if we got jay rodrigues, we will have powell 17, jay 22, sharpe 26, lee 26 for years to come. we have to remember lambert is now 30, and no matter how good he is, he will only have a few good years left
