How much did Steven Davis cost? {Ed038's Note - £0.00}

We got him on the free its on the club website

Good player, wouldnt be surprised if NA names him as Captain, good leader on the pitch!

I agree, but kelvin will keep captain for another year. Davis is our future captain. When will NA get that Quality CB, should be our biggest transfer - 10mil+

Davis isn't captain so how can he have it another year? Hammond is captain. David is club captain which is more of an ambassadorial role.

I spoke to a Rangers supporter this morning and said we had got a great player in Davis and that he will do well for us. He wished us all the best. I felt really sorry for him being a Rangers fan.

thats steve davis signed, hopefully buttner in the next few days and we are still intrested in butland. if we do get him whats your thought about him being number 1 or 2?

Hope its mcgregor instead of butland. he's a great keeper, and a double swoop from rangers would be fantastic business!

Buttner already has for 4 million they are gunna announce it tomorrow he came to england yesterday

I'd rather get Craig Gordon on a free, and spend the money on better outfield players such as Jarvis and Scott dann {Ed038's Note - McGregor is better than Gordon IMO}

Butland wil never cost �6m, whatever Birmingham are saying.
They are desperate for money and will take much less with add ons. No one else has gone in for him, and he will want to go somewhere where he has a realistic chance of getting first team footy sooner than later

I agree with you ed, i had never heard of butland until the england call up. was shocked it was a cheltenham town player . and i bet 80% of us reading this, have never seen him play - chris

People are saying butland for 6m plus is a bit much for a player only experienced at lower league level... we got 12m for oxlade when he was only league 1 tested, still i know more than 6m is a steep price but kelvin hasnt got too long left and we would love someone young to fit with the squad. i reckon we should offer about 8m, a high price and a risk but who do we have as back up for davies.... need a keeper as a back up short term and a quality long term, butland suits this perfect

We should get Artur Boruc, he's on a free transfer and is a very good keeper!

I'm interested by Butland, my mate works for Cheltenham Town, and it's local to me so i went to a few games last season and saw him playing, he did look very promising, but I still agree with most people that it's a large step up for the guy, I just hope IF we did sign him that he could make it.

I really don't think we should worry unduly about which GK we sign and whether he will be worth the money. NA was a GK himself so he should be a pretty good judge.
Whereas �6m may seem steep for Butland it would not be bad value if he becomes as good as the pundits reckon and being a GK we could get a good 12 years service from him.

Apparently Everton have a deal which allows them to use the Football Manager database, even though it's just a game.

No I think football manager is evertons db {Ed001's Note - a number of clubs work with SI and use the scouting database from FM, Everton are just one of them.}

Fifa is not something you should base on, falque is rated highely but was cack when he played albeit not for long... cant say i've seen this lad play but if the person who says he watches a lot of norwegian football isnt lying (which 9/10 they are) maybe worth a look in... also no point shouting about it in the rumours page if there isnt a rumour about him....

Steve Davis would be a great signing for you, I'm a Rangers and N.Ireland supporter and this lad is good, to get a player of his calibre for free is a great bit of business, and I hope you get him as you play good football

I can shed some light on rumours and sightings. My mate is on treatment team at st Mary's.

Butland wasn't at Staplewood yesterday.

Buttner medical early next week but the guy is super fit and no complications expected. Fee undisclosed.

Clyne biding his time waiting for best offer but HAS has his agent sounding Southampton out and not out of the running. Said to be "pleasantly surprised" at what's going on at St Mary's.

Johnson talk has no foundation (unfortunately)

Hey WH7. That was all he said mate. Even staff there are kept in the dark until they have an involvement in the process. Buttners medical was booked in for last week but he had to fly back for something or other.

Johnson-because medical team had heard the rumours themselves and asked directly if there was any foundation to which the answer was "no".
Wh7- medical team were asked to look through Clynes medical history submitted by his agent.

Juan Kerr. Do u have to look through Jess Ennis medical record to know she is fit? Have you seen Buttner bomb up and down left hand side touch line for his club and country and still have a record number of consecutive appearances for his club? No?
Buttner is a machine and will fly through this formality on Monday and will be announced mon or tue. If not, then you can doubt my integrity.

Speculation puts it down to a first refusal deal for Shaw to City. When you think along them lines and think how much our youngsters are valued, it could make sense.
Still see no truth in it though.

First of if you look around the deal for Shaw isn't happening as Saints have said "we wont listen to any offers for Shaw or any other young player" if you look around their are articles lying around which state exactly that

Tottenham are going to try and hijack our bid for Butland with a £7million bid, £1million more than we put forward. However it's unlikely he'd get 1st team footy at Spurs so even though BCFC are more likely to agree that fee, Butland will still hope to join the mighty saints as there's the higher chance of 1st team play!

Umm try Friedel maybe, probably one of the best keepers in the prem over the last few seasons!

Look at Friedels age.
Butland would be a great replacement and he would need to be intragrated into the first team over the next season.
He and Friedel would share the starting spot at Spurs, therefore there is no one that could stop him playing first team football with them.
