Southampton scouting 20 year old Lucas Zen from Botafogo. He's a promising defensive midfielder from Brazil.

Where did you hear this and when you say promising do you mean he's crap now or what

We would only waste our time scouting him. i know the work permit rules and there is not a chance of securing a work permit for him. to have a chance he would need to have played at least 20% of brazil games in the last 12 months. and where hes only managed 20 games in the last 2 seasons. we dont stand a chance

He only has 20 apps and no goals, how can anybody tell if he's "one for the future"??

With my knowledge of internationals 20 games in 2 season is pretty good, not many international teams play more than 10 games a year so going by that it would calculate that he's played pretty much every game for Brazil over the past 2 years which means the WP will be granted

Mate he is definitely not a Brazilian international player!

The 20 caps are referring to his club football I would imagine. No chance of work permit at all.

He has played 20 times for his club, never internationally, we don't need another CDM/CM who can't score goals, we have Hammond, Cork and Schneiderlin for that

Hes never played for brazil at any level.. hes played 20 leauge games. dosent matter if hes played 1000 leauge games, he needs to have played in at least 20% of international games (brazil) at under 21 level or above in last 12 months to have a chance.. so this rumor is rubbish as he wont get clearence

The only time Adkins seems interested in loaning players is when it comes with an option to buy.

To be fair off the top of my head I can think of 3 loans in the last 2 seasons that weren't with an option to buy; falque, bignall and some keeper from arsenal so it is a possibility. Would be an amazing signing although would need to be for the year ideally.

Was james shea the arsenal keeper we loaned with an option to buy?

He is quality!

It was Shea! Well done on remembering that I couldn't remember but it wasn't with the option to buy just a cover I think he was on the bench once while one of our keepers was injured.

Dale Jennings scored a cracking goal against us when he was at Tranmere. Looked really skillful and lively. Scored some other great goals there too. Would be an excellent signing - has real potential. Played left wing at the time.
