Wilfried Zaha coming to Saints on loan?
Believable5
Unbelievable23
Presuming the question mark means you're asking rather than telling!
Agree15
Disagree2
Too greedy, doesn't work hard enough, wouldn't fit us
Agree15
Disagree2
We don't loan players. Certainly not to help develop them for our rivals
Agree11
Disagree2
I was asking for opinions about Wilf Zaha, yeah.
Just heard from a colleague, West Ham have decided to opt out of going for Lambert. As Saints wanted £6m in cash upfront and another £2m as add-ons.
They'll have to call Geoff Hurst out of retirement instead at this rate!
Agree3
Disagree5
I know that we have a reputation for not taking on loan players but there are rumblings that this stance is about to change.
Agree3
Disagree6
Really doubt that Southampton entered negotiations for Lambert. Selling a fan favourite is the last thing they need to do, especially when he is still vital to the team
Agree9
Disagree1
Don't understand why we don't take players on loan. It certainly hasn't done Everton any harm this season.
Agree3
Disagree4
Why would we build up someone else's talent when we could be building our own? What will Everton do if they make Champions League football and can't get a good replacement for Lukaku and Barry et al? Loaning players isn't for us, unless we have a option to buy them at the end of the loan
Agree7
Disagree2
Prefer Salah of FC Basel.
Agree1
Disagree1
Yeh because everton will be on a right downer if they make it into the champions league because there have silly £££s but there have to replace lukaku and barry, come on lad use your head they won't be bothered if they make champions league there be minted. Loaning players is good if the players are good. Especially if there so good they get you into the champions league.
Agree2
Disagree3
Where does this misconception about saints not doing loans come from? it's been doing the rounds for years but it's completely wrong. We have and will do loans with to buy clauses when they are appropriate. Hoovield was a loan for example.
Agree3
Disagree3
If Everton make the Champions League they ill buy Barry and a striker of same quality as lukaku will go to them ins not ocket sciene

Are Southampton one of the clubs in line for talks with Ravel Morrison?
The rumour mill is buzzing with his name at the moment, and there's supposed to be a "pretty cheap" contract release clause / transfer price clause in his West Ham contract.
He's young, he's English, he's already got Premier League experience, he's come through the Manchester United academy, he's got awesome skills, but more baggage than Heathrow.
Believable4
Unbelievable8
Swap deal plus £5 million for Lambert
Agree7
Disagree10
Get them throw in Carroll, Joe Cole, Collison, Noble, a "buy Lambert back for a pound when West Ham are relegated" clause, an extra £20m and also that laptop Big Sam famously uses, and we'll have a deal! ;)
Agree9
Disagree2
You do know Big Sam is just watching Glee on that laptop. Maybe he should watch when Saturday comes and then sign up Sean Bean to save them from relegation!
Agree2
Disagree0
Yeah, buying Dyer with a broken leg would really make sense
Agree3
Disagree1
Nice "When Saturday Comes" reference there. Sean Bean's 8th best film role.
I have a feeling Moyes will try to re-sign him for Man United though, but pay £10m more than his release clause.
Wouldn't mind Nathan Dyer back either, was a good player in his Saints days, but is too important to Laudrup's Swansea plans, surely. Love what Laudrup's done/doing there.
Would any of you pick Ravel Morrison for the England World Cup squad? He's one of 3 or 4 who I'd consider, but haven't quite decided on, myself. He didn't impress me much in their Forest drubbing. Awesome talent though, and in many ways reminds us of Gascoigne.

Dyer has ligament damage not a broken leg. but yes he is injured for the foreseeable future

According to Adam Blackmore, the West Ham offer for Rickie Lambert is a whopping £2m.
I wonder how many of you are saying let him go now?
Believable9
Unbelievable2
£2m or £3m was the initial figure. Then the London press got carried away, and tripled the figure to £8m or £9m. Which is good money for a player who cost just £1m BUT is not enough for a player who is, let's face it, THE best striker in the world!
Rickie, Rickie, Rickie Lambert!
Big Sam should go for Torres instead.

Does Rickie Lambert play for Saints?

I've been told about a training ground bust up between lambert and another player whilst training for the FA cup game.
Believable0
Unbelievable13
The other player was Jos Hooiveld. Apparently Rickie thought it was an imposter on the training ground cus the guy had no ability therefore rugby tackled him to the floor. It wasnt until closer inspection he realised it was big Jos.
Agree16

Gonna have to use that dreaded and cliche text-talk phrase for this hilarious, (and brilliant too) rugby tackle comment:
LOL!
Agree3

That Rickie Lambert - he's changed since he's played for England.
Agree9
Disagree1
Well after seeing what he said about Jos to Adam on the halfway line during the Spurs game [he was correct by the way] it wouldn't surprise me if they suddenly 'don't get on' too well. After all the clip is there to be found on YouTube from Norwegian coverage of our game.
Agree2

Pah, if the bust up was with Hooiveld then Sir Rickie can sleep easy. Hooiveld hasn't got near an attacker all bloody season. *Ba dom dom tish* Thanks folks, I'm here all week.

IceLord do you have a link? Not heard about this!
Agree1

Hmmmm I did. I just went and found the YouTube clip and it is now blocked because it is 'Copyright to the Premier League', you know those people that invented football.
But I can confirm it is genuine as I have seen it [so it's not second hand]. It wasn't shown on UK TV but a Norwegian football programme. It is after the second goal, when they were waltzing past our 'defence' like it wasn't there and Rickie is on the halfway line - he holds head in hands and rubs is face - then walks near Adam and says 'Get Jos off he's terrible' or 'awful' depending on your lip reading skills. They highlight it on the video.
Here is the link to the Norwegian website but I think you need a proxy disguise to view it as you cannot see outside of Norway.

Palace will make Jason Puncheon's move from Southampton permanent as they look to free up a loan space for other reinforcements this January.
Puncheon is due for a £1. 25million, two-and-a-half-year switch.
Believable2
Unbelievable3
I don't know why we don't keep Punch, decent player
Agree13
Disagree6
Puncheon has got a good sprint on him. His burst of pace is quite electrifying. Was a fan of him in his pre-Saints days, he looked a big prospect.
For his sake I hope he can get a deal done with Palace, and if they stay up, he can blossom into a regular top Premier League winger.
I'd like to have him back at Southampton, especially when if/we're in urgent need of width, and extra zip up front. He was pretty good for us last season as well.
But I've heard (I say "heard") we're in for that Lionel Messi again, so I'm guessing the Puncheon to Palace permanent deal will go ahead ;)
Agree3

Punch want's to be close to his family, whether we want to keep him or not, it won't happen

Punchin god player

Cue a load of tabloid headlines about how he will help Palace Puncheon above their weight.
Agree2
Disagree2
Messi? Why? There's no way he'd get in the team in front of Adam
Agree7

Puncheon went on loan to Palace because of his seriously sick baby. By moving to Palace he is closer to his family so that he can get the support that he and his wife need with the tot.
I am uncertain of the details, but also I'm always surprised why the small fee for Puch, who let's face it is far better than the £1. 25M fee quoted.
Either way, I wish Puch and his family all the best.
