Tadanari Lee is close to sealing a move back to Japan with FC Tokyo. Shame really as when he played he looked great, with so much to offer and the 2 goals he scored were class.

Believable11 Unbelievable5

Such a shame, he's my favourite Saints player. He offers something different compared to Lambert, J Rod and Mayuka.

Agree9 Disagree6

He's no way a prem player

Agree5 Disagree7

How can you know that when he's never been given a chance in the prem? I'd like him to stay at least till Jan, would be good cover for Lallana on the wing, hard working player may just need a run of games like J-Rod did

Agree6 Disagree4

If he hadnt got injured think he would have been a prem player

Agree6 Disagree3

I feel really sorry for Lee. He showed in his limited playing time that he was a good player with an eye for goal, but he has been so unlucky with injury.

If he does go then I wish him all the best.

Southampton could be close to signing Lyon's defender, Dejan Lovren.

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Get French Football on twitter reportd the bid is premature as liverpool are yet to make an offer, saints will start with €10 million. Get French Football are very reliable and have great sources

TopSaint

Agree2 Disagree0

Why are Liverpool and ourselves falling over ourselves to spend 10m on this guy? He isn't even first choice at Lyon.

Agree2 Disagree0

I dunno why he's not first team bust he should be and has been in the past, his style will fit the prem well, physical and play from the back

According to news, Napoli failed with an attempted double raid on Roma for supposed Southampton targets Lamela and Marquinhos with a £34m bid and will now look elsewhere.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

And what news is that on then?

Agree1 Disagree1

Perhaps they had already been sold? LOL
Or could mean almost anything else.

I keep telling myself, remember who we actually sign has nearly always come as a surprise, but still can't resist following the media links!

Saint Martin

Agree7 Disagree0

It means that Saints are going to have to put out a hell of a bid if £34m was rejected

Agree0 Disagree0

It was quoted by the Napoli president. Yes, looks like Lamela would take £25m

Agree1 Disagree0

That would've been 17m for each player although I think Marquinos is worth more as he's 19 so 20m for him and 14m for Lamela, Ireckon if we bid 18m just for Lamela we could do it

Agree0 Disagree3

Lamela cost Roma 17.5 million.

Agree0 Disagree1

^It cost them 17.5m euros. coverted into pounds that's like 14m, hence they'd make 4m profit out of him

Southampton are ready to let their 14.4 million record signing Gaston Ramirez leave St. Mary's this summer.

The Uruguayan had a relatively successful first season with Southampton successfully avoiding relegation.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the south coast club are looking at a price of 18 million for a player who they signed only last summer from Bologna.

Believable4 Unbelievable13

Funny taht gaston sai dhes 'very happy' at saints he won't leave he's part of mp's and NC's plans for teh futre.

Agree5 Disagree0

Why didn't you copy the next bit which said 'The feeling is that Ramirez has at least another season in the EPL'?

Agree5 Disagree0

He's not leaving. We're looking at him, J-Rod and Lamela (should we sign him) to be the future and to build the team around them.

Agree6 Disagree0

Hi Ed, can u shed any light on this?

Agree2 Disagree0

Oh are we mp ^ ^thanks for the info

Agree0 Disagree2

It's obvious, we're not going to spend 20 million on two players and feature then heavily just to let one of them leave after one season. NC is one to buy young players and develop them not sell them for a profit (which would be difficult to get after an uninspiring season)

Agree2 Disagree0

If Ramirez does go, we better sell him for more than we bought him for

Agree1 Disagree1

Not convinced regarding the first post. Gaston was a multiple "ownership" signing, and whilst sources may know what was paid to the major share holder I suspect it would almost be impossible to identify what the total came to.
I think Gaston would really flourish with a few additions into the squad, so hope he stays.

Saint Martin

Agree4 Disagree0

Ramirez has stated that Southampton has shown a lot of faith in him and he wants to replay that.

Ramirez is going nowhere, unless MoPo is pushing to sell him to utilize funds elsewhere. I seriously doubt that he'll leave this summer

Agree2 Disagree2

^We don't need to sell in order to buy though

Dejan Lovren is the latest name to be linked with saints, 23 year old CB from Croatia, currently plays for Lyon. £8.5m bid lodged apparently

Mini-Saint

Believable3 Unbelievable3

That would be quality but I doubt it will happen

Agree3 Disagree1

Quality centre back. yes please!

Agree5 Disagree0

Would be a good signing but probably won't come to saints

Agree2 Disagree2

Would be a good addition, good young player

Agree1 Disagree0

I have seen his name mentioned in previous windows would like this to be true

Agree1 Disagree0

Would love him to sign, think this maybe a recycled rumour from jan though, would be class though

Agree2 Disagree1

Would do a good job.

Agree1 Disagree0

Have any of you seen Lovren play this year? Has been awful, was voted in the worst team of Ligue 1 for the year. £8 mil is far too much for a player of similar ability to Hooiveld

Agree1 Disagree3

Not even the Croatia squad. !

Agree1 Disagree1

Apparently his club need to sell to make up a £25MIL shortfall. Liverpool are very interested.

Agree1 Disagree1

You say he had a bad season but hasn't lots of people, Ramirez, Ba not scored as many, cisse, Holt, silva, vermarlen, these are just some examples, BUT. We all know they poses quality and it shows through when things go right, he's a quailty defender, young and potentially going to get beter and better, we all know he'd been a good addition to the squad

I have been told we are interested in a former academy star. In all honesty I can only believe this would be Bridge, none of the others are both good enough and attainable. Although I always had a soft spot for surman.

Lost

Believable3 Unbelievable11

Chambo got to be
Love to see in a saints shirt again

Agree7 Disagree12

Doubt we are interested in any of our former players but Dyer would probably be the one if we were to. Bridge is in no way good enough to challenge Luke or even Fox and surman wouldn't fit into our style of play now, although I would like to see him in a Southampton shirt again at some point

Agree4 Disagree6

Bridge would be much better cover at LB than Fox. Can't see Ox returning. Walcott would be my outside bet. Was Scott Sinclair at our academy at any time when he was a kid?

Agree3 Disagree6

Bridge going to Reading

Agree7 Disagree2

Bridge has gone to reding done deal i'd hope if we can afford it the ox maybe neer know what NC's thinking

Agree5 Disagree2

Definitely bale

Agree13 Disagree5

Bridge is looking to stay at Brighton that's where he wants to be for the rest of his career. They will get him for a cut price probably.

Agree0 Disagree8

Cut price he is a free transfer, he signed for Reading

Agree8 Disagree0

I hope I don't see Surman in a Saints shirt again or we'll be back in the Championship. The 'definitely bale' comment is the funiest and also the most realistic comment above!

Agree7 Disagree1

Hey, what's your source mate? and is it likely? probably not

Agree3 Disagree0

Bridge is at reading, his agent contacted saints but didn't get a reply.

Agree2 Disagree0

Surely if this is true it has to be matt mills at centre back, i'm pretty sure he has captained every team he has played for and is still only about 24-25

st stuie

Agree2 Disagree2

Shame wayne bridge would of been good cover if we were to sell fox and is a life long saints fan shame he didn't come back.

Agree2 Disagree0

I hope its Dyer if it is true, Walcott, whoever thought that is a deluded person, he signed a huge 5 yr contract that we would not pay any player at this point and he is in Champions league with ox, if anyone seriously thinks they're coming bakc they need there heads testing. Dyer would be good competition for wingers and has rapid pace which we desperately need. and best of all he is a saint

Agree4 Disagree2

Hmm, well I guess its not going to be Bridge then, great signing for reading inmho. Shame, I think he could have done a job. Can't name my source, only that he would know, although he didn't go so far as to give me a name, just a wiley hint over a pint.

Agree0 Disagree1

I live next to gareth bales 3rd cousin and he said he deformed. coming back to st marys :D

Agree1 Disagree1

Chris Baird has been released. Could be him?

Agree0 Disagree3

Lost : Fair play to you for putting a 'name' to your rumour but are you sure it was only A pint?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just seen that chris Baird is out of contact. Could be him? Dunno, if its worth it but on a free I guess it's worth a punt?

Agree0 Disagree1

Chris Baird

Agree1 Disagree1

Please be surman, he'd be a fan favorite, was my favourite when he played for us and would provide good cover on LW and can play LB and CM too, I would like this a lot not gunna lie

Agree1 Disagree2

Im dating waynes sister and its not him, he's going to Reading.

Agree1 Disagree1

Chris Baird! Why do you think he's been released and available on a free and even if his wages were only 10K pw on a 1 year contract that's a £0.5m 'punt'. Please tell me you've ALL been having A pint.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, Baird isn't the brightest star in the league, but as it's aledgedly a former saints academy player, it seems more likely to be him than Walcott, Ox, Bale or indeed Shearer. We are commenting on the likelihood if who the player is rather than who we want it to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surman seems to be leaving Norwich. I would love to see Drew back in a Saints shirt

Agree2 Disagree1

Ok, I will also kick reality out of the window. Le God as Nicola's new publicity officer or the other Mills brother as cover for Clyne?

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets see the "oracle" st gazza find a way to disagree with this.
Apparently saints are likely to stick with red seats in their stadium next season.

Agree0 Disagree1

Oh c'mon, that's an easy one, I just click the button beneath your post :-)
