Nonsense, didn't you know Southampton signed Clyne who fills the spot at Right Back? Also we have cover on the Right Wing with Guly, Puncheon and Rodriguez all happy to play that roll.

Hope not. I just want to see a centre back or two join. If that happens then look for top quality left backs/wingers/keepers so they are actually improvements on what we got.

Yeah we have a right back but little cover and all those RW players aren't prem quality in this position.

Vanden Borre doesn't look Premiership standard either.

How do make out we have no cover at right back ?.. We have clyne, richardson, butterfield and stephens - all can cover right back spot. Butterfield actually looked very solid on tour (more so then richardson). Clyne is always 1st choice, but we don't need more right backs..

Take a look at a few stats for this guy. Full of promise at Anderlecht but has since completely gone off the boil. Sure he's only 24 but compare him to his best mate (Vincent Kompany) and the wealth of talent is laughable. The guy is versatile but we have other players who can already do the job. We still need to find a solid center back and that's it. Don't take a risk on a journeyman who has already had 5 clubs in his very brief career

According to a friend of mine who lives in Holland the talks regarding Jermaine Lens broke down. Apparently he wants to stay at PSV and feels he has what it takes to bring his club far in Europe. (Anyone heard any more on this?)

I really hope thats not true and we get him but it has gone very very quiet worried saint here

Dutch Friend of mine says lens is not that good anyway..very inconsistent.
Don't forget augustin delgado looked awesome on video highlights too.

It's pathetic. Im a saints fan, but seriously, "worried saint here" ? Just let the club do the business it wants. You all sit there and say "we need a cb! Im getting worried!" ever occur to you that the club is stalling over deals because it doesnt want to rush buy which 99% of you seem to want us to do. You say, let's get Dann! Then when he turns out to be sh*t you'll moan again. Grow up. We never had a chance in hell of getting Lens, that was stated from the off. He actually was quoted by SKY that he didn't want to leave months ago.

Saints to confirm Shawcross (£6m) and Walcott (Season loan, with a future fee to be agreed) by the end of the week.

Also Sanogo, Fierro and Lenny Nangis are being looked at by Saints scouts at the moment. Be great signings if we can bring these in.

Anyone know if there is any truth in the rumours around the Moses deal to Saints?

The Shawcross rumours are actually laughable. Just won't happen.

Saints ARE working very hard behind closed doors trying to get the right deals sorted. They have targeted players and spoken to clubs in the correct way but in the modern game these things take time. Your not just dealing with the Player & Manager of a club now it's a long drawn out process dealing with directors of football, chief executives, head of recruitments, players families, agents, etc etc. The list is endless.

But I can confirm that SFC are working on a few targets. Not sure on names as I am not working on the deals and they are very hush hush.

1) Shawcross won't happen - stop trying to drum up a rumour that just isn't there.

2) Why would Arsenal loan Walcott to us?! All that would do is decrease his sale value as his contract runs out in a year. So they would loan him to us for a year, then not get any transfer fee for him?! Rubbish. They will either decide he is surplus to requirements at arsenal now and sell at £10-15mil (which Saints won't spend anyway) or they will decide he has a future at arsenal and offer him a better contract deal. They will not be loaning him.

I do understand this is a long drawn out process but this was started a while ago. Shawcross deal is almost agreed now and Sanogo looks highly likely aswell.

There are a couple of names being banded around the club at the moment but Sanogo, Nangis and Hugh Janus look nailed on now. Shawcross wont happen. and i know people will say im lieing, but i live in yeovil and they had a friendly tuesday night. i asked for shawcross signature at the side of the pitch whilst they were warming up, and i asked him if hes staying at stoke . his responce " im going nowhere" - chris
