I've been reading from various websites that we are after a cut price deal for Juventus striker Quagliarella. I can't see that this has much substance, other than it might be part of the deal for Osvaldo to move to Juve permanently. Other than that given our younger squad why would we bring in a 31 year old striker? Anyone have any thoughts?

Considering it would probably take him a year to settle, there isn't much point other than another body than can play up front.

I think that a lot of Saints fans are starting to feel a little worried by Lambert. While his all round play is good, his goals seem to be drying up. He also looks a little jaded and in need of a rest.

Some Saints fans bemoan the lack of striking options following Osvaldo's departure. I for one am content with the options that we have, but we will certainly need to bring in another Striker in the summer, or a pacey left sided winger, to free up Jay-Rod for the Striker role.

Our squad is too young so an experienced player might be useful.

But surely an experienced striker who is experienced in the premier league?! I don't want to keep buying fro italy/abroad if we have to keep waiting for players to "adapt to the game/climate/weather/language. Why we didn't go for Shane Long I don't know?! would have been a fantastic signing. There are other experienced strikers who have already mastered this division instead of us constantly looking abroad?

I mentioned Shane Long a while ago - decent goal scorer, but most of all 100% work rate and would have fitted in perfectly (I feel).

Only one player for our striking vacancy: Jordan Rhodes.
Will score in the premier league.
Has the potential to keep improving.
Is English, has experience of playing in. You guessed it. England!

{Ed003's Note - He plays for Scotland :/ }

Little note for Ed. yes plays for Scotland due to family links born in England. Oldham

7.) 11 Mar 2014
I'd rather see us try to snap up the duo who could take Burnley up to the top flight. If Burnley fall short this season for whatever reason Ings and Vokes could be huge swoops and both are noted as saints fans (apparently).

What about mirko vucinic?

{Ed007's Note - He is definitely Montenegrin.}

9.) 12 Mar 2014
Haha Ed. I said playing in England not for England.

{Ed001's Note - but you said: "Is English, has experience of playing in. You guessed it. England!" That certainly looks like you were suggesting he is English, when, in football parlance, he is Scottish.}

Okay I see your point. It's a tough one when they're one nationality in reality and another in a footballing sense.
