I hope its wrong but a friend of mine who claims to be in the know says that Southampton's transfer business is finished for this transfer window.

What's that smell? Smells like bull. well you get the idea with that.

Aha that explains why taider didn't sign tonight I guess. I can picture it now him poised to sign his contract then les barges in yanks the contract from him and says don't need you now sunny we are all off to las vegas with the bonuses we just got no money left for transfers toodle pip. As he runs out the door with crisp 50s flying out his back pocket.

They are too busy tucking the money under kl mattress to bother running the club

4.) 05 Aug 2014
As the expression hopefully
they will turn up like buses
fingers crossed
bit annoying Newcastle have signed 9 players
god knows who were trying to get
but i'd like to think these players know each other from either national or club sides

Well with Koeman saying that he wants to bolster our squad with '2 or 3 more signings' last weekend and also saying that Taider would bring quality to the squad should we get him in, I would strongly doubt that your friend is correct. I would also suggest that Koeman is both clever and experienced as a manager and I would trust him to realize that we need to strengthen in certain areas. I would seriously question this idea that we are done for business.

Did you know the word 'gullible' isn't actually in the dictionary!?

With the information I received today, I'd say the first half of Salisbury St John's post is closer to the truth.

I think Aussie saint that while the gullible does not appear it the dictionary it is mentioned in the boardroom of SFC when referring to the fans

Really Ozzy saint? That's unreal. I have always thought that was a real word. I will look at life differently from now on, thanks

Whilst I don't agree with the original poster, the hysterical replies smack of fans affected by denial.

I see to recall similar responses whenever someone warned about Shaw leaving. "he won't go, he loves this club, he loves the fans, he signed a new contract. oh"

There is an emerging trend which continues to suggest that Southampton don't have as much money as thought. This would explain some of the hard haggling over Forster and Rojo, as well as why there has been less activity than hoped for.

Nothing to panic about. Board seem to be doing a good job. Pragmatic and careful.
