Manuel pellegrini to be the next Southampton manager is looking very likely, good news :)

The bookies have been all over the place with the manager vacancy, no clear favourite and good odds being given on all of them . They really have no idea and until somebody lumps on one of them big time cash wise it is pure guess work . I still feel that Claude Puel has the credentials we need at SFC and he has always been very loyal to his previous clubs . Ed 002 said that he is a good chap and that may be helpful with man management . Unless we can get a big name at the budget we can offer them he seems a sensible choice . Pellegrini seems a good honourable man but unfortunately we thought that of RK . We need somebody that will knuckle down and give everything and from what I have read Puel would give us that.

You can get 4/ 1 on Pellegrini with some bookies, that to me doesn't ring much of very likely.

bookies odds mean nothing in reality, it's only who people are betting on. If every saints fan put a bet on Mr Blobby being saints manager his odds would quickly go down.

Also been offered the Russia Job - a "millionaire" contract to manage them for 2 years up until the World Cup that thy will be hosting.

I imagine he would have a preferance for still managing in the Premier League, but, do Russia have the better funds to line his pockets. Pellegrini may also be afraid to say know after seeing the Russian Hooliganism!

I saw this too. Managing Russia is very different to managing a club in the premier league, It would very much depend on what his preference would be. Perhaps given his age, the Russia job might be a better fit purely because of the lower work load. We will see.
