Today should be a very big warning to all SFC supporters.

This squad is poor.
The manager is not good enough.
The Board are not representing the future of the club well.

There are several players who need to leave at the end of the season and be replaced by fit, enthusiastic footballers. We are goal shy, lack a commanding mid field and have a dodgy keeper.

Now is the time to take action.

finishing midtable with an unbelievable cup run despite a stacked fixture list due to European competition. hardly a need for a "very big warning".

No europe next year, we should be back to 6th/ 7th/ 8th. I am confident this summer we will invest strongly in order to compete with those above us.

As we're currently playing with what are our 3rd and 4th choice CB's at the start of the season, I think we've managed it quite well. We all knew we'd have a dip with the amount of games we would have to play.

I suspect the current 3rd and 4th choice CB's will be our 1st and 2nd choice CB's next season after another summer sale at St Mary's

We look short in many areas, too many 'not good enough' players who don't perform.

I'm a realistic supporter.
We can't compete with the wages that the bigger clubs offer so i'm expecting at least 2 of our key players to leave this summer.
I'm also expecting some of our lesser stars to move on and the board to clear some of the dead wood. At present we have too many players in our squad who aren't premier league quality. Clear them out, replace if necessary and reduce the size of our squad.
Plus I'm expecting offers for about 3 more key players which I hope will be rebuffed.
The key players will be replaced. We will move forward.
No we won't break into the top six until we expand the ground, get it full and increase our revenue so we can compete on an equal footing with the clubs above us.
So anyone out there not expecting VVD to move on really needs a reality check.

Who in our squad don't make it as "premier league" quality?

We won't compete with the top 6 until our owners discover 500 billion dollars of oil under their land and want to move up from the cheap sports like ocean yacht racing, polo or formula one, into premier league football.

How does expanding the stadium make us a top 6 club? If we sell 23 thousand tickets to a match now, we will still only sell 23 thousand tickets if we have a 55 thousand seat stadium. There will just be more empty seats. A bigger stadium will only show a benefit at current sell out matches, probably 2 per season. An expansion has to justify the cost, sell out 15 matches per season and then the club may think about it.

If we started playing better and play more attractive football maybe we might sell out more games.

Right here's what going to happen. The Chinese are going to buy the club I've heard that the deal is being finalised and Puel will go at the end of the season. We will have to see what happens to player's but we will probably have a bigger wage cap which means we will have more chance of keeping them.

Really curious who these players are that aren't good enough. Stephens, I agree, isn't. He'd only in there because of the injury to VVD, however, and our poorly timed need to sell Fonte. I'd be amazed is Stephens is still a starting CB for us next year. I will not hear of anyone still bashing Yoshida - what does the guy have to do to prove his value as a 3rd cb who can come in and start without a major drop off.

Midfield looks solid. Romeu has been amazing this year and I can't be the only one to have noticed the definite step up taken lately by JWP. Davis remains as solid and reliable ever. I would, of course, like to see more from Hojbjerg and Clasie. The former should definitely be given time; personally I think it might be time to move on from Clasie and get someone else in, but we're talking about our 5th cm here. Hardly time for such strong concern.

Up front, this season has shown me that J-Rod will probably never reach his pre-injury form, and certainly not with us. Time for both sides to move on, sell him to a West Brom or a Watford with a sell-on-fee clause so we don't end up looking stupid if the run of games he gets uncovers his best form again. Long is frustrating as hell (please teach this man to finish) but a useful source of depth. Gabbiadini looks sensational when he's played - his movement is matched by very few in europe. Redmond, Tadic and Boufal have each shown promise in their own way, but have obvious ability if they work on key areas.

This season has not been a warning sign. We are set to finish 8th or 9th, and fans like the one who wrote this post are a hindrance to the club. Remember where we were 5 years ago - did you actually think our journey to the top would be a steady rise where we handle european football perfectly and keep improving until eventually we win the league just like you did on football manager? Our squad is imperfect, but a really impressive core of elite players at each level. No warning signs, just a standard season with a 1st year manager. Keep calm, do our very best to keep our players this time round, and keep bringing people in with our currently unmatched ability to find reasonably priced players who can develop into important players for us.
