I have a slight worry in that I don't see CA featuring as much as he would like this season unless Gabbi gets injured or his form is terrible. Does anyone or the ED's Know if Gabbi is first choice striker every time and CA will just have to play second fiddle, maybe some Sub apperances? For me CA has to play regular for Southampton to get the best from him.
{Ed002's Note - I don't know Ben.}

Good to hear from you Ed002, I read some messages back around transfer deasline and there was some idiot giving you a hard time. True Southampton supporters that comment on this forum appreciate all yours and the other Ed's effort to answer our questions. Please ignore the idiots. Keep up the good work buddy.
{Ed002's Note - Appreciate that Ben.}

I agree with you Ben, Charlie A (and for that matter Shane L) are at their sharpest when they play regularly. Reality is, Gabbi is pure class, but I think he would benefit immensely from having CA playing with him. Until the manager gets it into Redmonds and Tadic's head that they need to pass to a player in a better position rather than shoot, it won't matter who we have up front! I would be even more radical and put Shane L as one of the wide men, the same role as Jay Rod pre injury. He is never greedy, can pass, cross and score!
I would like to ask Ed has he ever encountered someone like Redmond who, how do we say politely, rates himself and his ability to score, far higher than anyone else! In other words how do you get them to pass to someone in a much better scoring position . so frustrating .
{Ed002's Note - I recall Mourinho saying Kalou always ran too far before passing. Robin Friday quitre correctly knew he was better but I was not living in England when he was playing. I am sure that there are others.}

I'm assuming the "idiot" you're referring to Ben is me, just for pointing out that we'd been told that vvd would be 100% leaving but he didn't. If you go back to my original post that you're referring to I didn't give ed a hard time at all. I've always been very greatful of his answers, info and patience with regards to transfer knowledge of our club. I've never hounded him or called bulls**t on his info. it was a jokey comment about him getting that ONE thing wrong when he seemed to be so sure of it. I didn't expect such a touchy response. Maybe it didn't read quite how I meant It? How that makes me any less of a supporter than others on here I don't know. Some of the crap I've seen written from other fans like 87, constantly attacking the board, manager, players and constantly calling out ed is a joke of a "fan". What I wrote with regards to vvd once the window had closed was meant to be take lightheartedly, not as a personal dig.
{Ed002's Note - I am sorry, I explained things as they were and I would never write anything like "100% leaving". You can answer the questions from now on.}

Ed 002 is right Milky he never ever said VVD was 100% leaving, what he did do is answer the posts to the best of his ability on the information he was aware of. He stated quite correctly that VVD 's position at the club was untenable which let's face it, it is. I know you say it was light hearted when you posted rather smugly that VVD was staying and if I was an Ed I would have reacted the same way as he did, We ask for information and the Eds give us as much information as they can and remember most of it is their opinion. I have never known an Ed like 02 who goes out of his way and at great length sometimes to explain the complexities of things and we would certainly miss his input.

Milky. why?
You made your point, albeit like a 6 year old girl, in your original post. It did read badly and I commented at the time along with others.
If you want snippets of info you otherwise might not get, or you want your questions answered, stop being a di**!
For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure the phrase used was "I fully expect VVD to leave"

Milky u are just a hyped up computer warrior
I will say what I feel like about the board and there way of doing things.
And any crack pot that celebrates because the board couldn't sell a sell out sulker
Needs to be checked up
Yippee we have a cb that don't what to be hear or play.
In my opinion if he does come back into the fold it will be to help his career nothing to do with are team.
I would rather drop a few places than help him
Anyway just my opinion.

I totally disagree with that comment 87 if he comes back into the fold and does well we can justify the asking price. I agree he needs to go if he doesn't want to be at Southampton but the board standing firms sets a message out to others which is good for the club. Not trying to pick an argument but there are positives and negatives from vd staying.
We are loyal to Southampton so think he's a tit for the way he has behaved but let's be honest if we were in a similar situation with our own jobs to get around 3 times the salary. We'd all take the chance.

The reality is a deal has to be done you can go for x and you can go in x then it stops all the rubbish that is going around. I was quite smug watching a fire Liverpool back line today then had to watch an inept performance from us against an at best average team. How many times will out me big money signings not deliver why didn't we buy traore or likewise 13m skin player burn pace and duff a cross at least he doesn't cut inside going to be a long hard season and all our decent youth strikers are on loan.

Milky, I don't think you meant any offence, but. if you are going to write something on the lines of "don't cry about it" expect a backlash.
