Hi Eds,

Is there any truth that saints are looking at Martin Hinteregger from Frankfurt? Looks a great prospect and got an eye for goal too but never know if these rumours are true!

{Ed002's Note - The odd thing is that his CB partner would be a much better option and probably less expensive - but there is already quite a lot of interest and EF don't want to sell.}

Not sure that Saints would want to pay the reported £22.5M that Frankfurt have asked for but he seems to be a decent defender and Ralph knows him and what he is capable of. A few other clubs reported to be sniffing around Frankfurts central defenders.

It does feel like a lot and I guess it will depend if we can shift some deadwood but we’ve all been asking the club to show ambition and sign a good centre half and I know we got one but he looks more for the future.

Haven’t seen us seriously linked with any other players though, except McKenna (think that’s how you spell it) but can’t see that happening.
