With Obafemi off to Swansea on loan (apparently) and him not really looking like he's in Ralph plans I would love to see us make a move for Balogun, any chance of this happening Ed's? I know there's apparently 15 clubs interested in him.

{Ed002's Note - No, I don't see it.}

Why would we? Yes we could have him as another option, but Ralph is building his squad around a core of players, with excellent ‘stand ins’ especially making full use of the academy. He has created a tactical plan that is being taught to every level at Southampton.
I think we will see a reduction in buys and an increase in bringing players through.

Because Obafemi clearly isn’t in Ralph’s plans and we all know that Shane Long cannot score a goal. Dan N’Lundulu is currently our only back up goal scorer, why not got and get another young goal scorer who’s a free agent at the end of the season so would be available for a cut price fee?

Obafemi isn't in Ralph's plans because he's lazy and can't or won't play the way that Ralph is asking him to. I for one am more than happy to leave the decisions to Ralph. He seems to be making a bloody good job of it.

Our selection is not just about a young player who can score and is a free agent. A huge emphasis is put on character, lifestyle etc when Southampton are interested in someone, they watch, watch, listen, enquire, watch and watch . often in ‘secret’. You can be absolutely sure Ralph knows exactly who he wants . at the moment he is seeing who he can ‘tune’ . Vestergaard and Prowsey spring to mind.

for leicester to let gray run down his contract is clearly an issue. i am not convinced rogers is a great manager he has a plan a but does he have any other. sit deep and hit on the break. gray and ihenacho have not developed at all in their time at the club. would imagine gray would be a good acquisition especially if cheap or free but would depend on buying into the plan and being prepared to wait.

I think Ralph ran out of patience with him. When Ralph first joined, he was heavily invested in Obafemi, you could tell that he wanted him to succeed and must've spent a lot of time on him. And from the sounds of it, Obafemi hasn't returned the favour. So now Ralph will focus his attention on N’Lundulu and Tella.

There's no doubt that Obafemi has bags of talent and is a good finisher and is a good poacher but if he's not willing to be a team player, we're best off letting him have a decent career.
