Hi Saints fans,

I am feeling a tinge of confidence about our potential team. I think the below 25 man squad has real potential. As many of us have said, we need to shift about 10 want away players for a happy squad, then bring in championship experience down the spine that can play Martin's system like Cabango, Grimes and Piroe (or others)

With a year or two experience, winning confidence, team spirit and proper organization, we could have a core of players with PL potential and hopefully we get promoted within 2 years.

Then add 3 or 4 experieced PL players and a couple of young stars and we could be a good side. COYR.

I wouldn't have thought kwp will be a saints player this season. And as long as we have bazzuna and McCarthy as our keeper options I think we will struggle. I don't understand why we signed lis and loaned him straight out last season. But to get him back and loan him out again, this season, before the manager even sees him, seems very odd to me.

Keeping KWP, Tella and Alcaraz may be some wishful thinking on my part but I hope some will stay. Would love to keep Tino, Sulemana and Lavia of course!


I am not overwhelmed by Baz and MCarthy either. I think our Centre backs and GK are our weakest links right now. I just hope that with a league down and some confidence Baz can do the job this year.

We need strengthening about the back but have about 7 players more than we need right now in the squad, so we need to sell 2 or 3 for every one we bring in.
