I will say it now, Juric is not the man to turn water into wine. As appointments go, this is as bizarre as it is pointless.
No experience of English football, sacked after 12 games in charge at his last club - why would he be the answer.
We need someone who will hit the ground running, steady the ship, maybe even win the odd game.
As I am at pains to say, anyone is an upgrade on RM but come on - another duff appointment isn't the answer.
Yes, of course I would like to give him a chance, but actually there is no time for a new man to settle in and assess his squad and tweak things around.
I would take Moyes or Big Sam everyday of the week and twice on Sunday rather than an odd job manager.
If it proves anything, it is that the Board don't have an ounce of ambition and are totally disconnected to what our once great club is about. Shame on them.

You actually thought them sacking RM was going to bring someone better?
It was always going to be like for like or worse with this board. You get what you ask for though.
I've mentioned in the past fans think they have a choice in who comes to manager them. That by somehow the people in charge listen/read our choices. It doesn't ever seem the case, least not with Southampton. All boards react to is the disgruntled noise in the stadiums, which ultimately means potentiality less ticket sales.
So fans calling for sack will get the sack but nothing more after that. Hence, you get what you ask for.

Well let’s see his average points per premier league game after 16 games. If it’s more than 5 points / 0.313 points per game - then he will have improved us.

If he can change tactics I'm already happy and imo he's better than RM but overall when I saw Fabrizio say it was Juric I was very annoyed it should've been Coberan Rohl or Hjalmund maybe moyes

Then he won’t have improved us. Not who I would pick but I genuinely think that no manager survives 5 points in 16 games.

I'd have to disagree.
RMs approach to his tactics was Gung Ho seeing as didn't have the ideal players to utilize it. His style of play (errors aside) was actually quite attractive to watch. The main emphasis is that he/we lacked that clinical finisher up front. A decent striker and one or two more capable of playing out from the back/cool under pressure and things would have been different.
I'm remember the Claude Puel days. He got points on the board sure, but he earned them through boring the other teams (and fans) to death. He use to let games stagnate, dwindle out and be ok with 1 points. He didn't get sacked because of results, he literally got sacked because watching our team play was like watching paint dry.
Different tactics.be careful what you wish for.

I think all we wish for at the moment is points on the board. Rm had proved his way wasn't working and constantly said he wouldn't change. There has to be a happy medium. I wouldn't minded being hard to beat to get some momentum and confidence in the team by boring other teams. Sure beats them all laughing at us.

RM’s style of play is entertaining? Seriously?
It’s dire - no intensity, no flair, no clue. All huff and puff mostly in our own third.
RM built a side that were frightened of their own shadow - no belief, no courage, no hope.
It has become embarrassing to be a Saints fan.
If we get relegated, and we probably will, then let’s go down fighting - like men. No more powder puff performances like Spuds defeat.

So Lesleee is saying that our new manager will have a worse record than 5 points in 16 games because he’s convinced it won’t get better points wise. We will get more points than that in the next 4 games mark my words and I have no problem admitting I was wrong if we don’t. Therefore it would have got better in a quarter of the time. I will then come back on here and look for any excuses as to why it has got better so the know it all can be right. Don’t use a managerial bounce as an excuse either because by the look and sound of things not many saints fans are happy with this appointment.

Really not sure about Juric, he only plays a lone striker…. will we ever get to see Onaucha and Archer in the same team AND playing alongside each other?

Interesting Millertime! I have been told by someone involved with matchday security at the club that RM had been told it was his last game before kickoff, So that would explain a lot. Something didn't feel right from the first whistle till after the final one

Hi guys,
I watched the Brentford vs Forest game and I could not help but make comparisons between SFC and these teams. Watching Brentford and Forest play out so comfortably from the back transitioning so quickly from defense to attack, just reminded me a) we give the ball away far too easily and when we do go forward the transition is pitifully slow and ponderous.b) The commentators commented how good the recruitment process was on both sides, and both these clubs were great examples of how smaller Premiership clubs should be run,
again ours has been quite frankly appalling. We have consistently overpaid for frankly too many players who are not premiership quality. It is depressing how far this club has sunk and just how much money has been wasted.c) Watching the end of the West Ham game vs Brighton and how brave Wan Bissaka was just before the end of the game and I honestly couldn't imagine any Saints player showing such commitment and potentially incurring an injury. There needs to be a total review of how this club operates from top to bottom as the heart and club ethos seems sadly lacking.I have no confidence that we can stay up and when we do go down, I think it highly unlikely that we will be good enough to go straight back up.I cannot think of a more depressing time to be a Saints fan.Merry Xmas

More than 5 points in 4 games, your putting your neck on the line there Bigredarmy, but I'll take those odds. You HAVE seen our players right, that would be a big ask even for the most talented of managers.
I think you guys think I just make stuff up. The managerial bounce is an actual thing.
Do I think there will be a managerial bounce with us, yes most likely not a massive one though 1 or 2 games and then the cracks will begin to show. Mainly because I don't think RM lost the dressing room, I think a lot of the players bought into his philosophy. It's mainly morale from the losses and unknown factor/players looking to impress new boss that will add to the bounce.
