Not me millertime. I could see us going down and staying down for a while and it's why I was hesitant on sacking RM. Some managers/players are crap at some things and good at others and whilst you will say it was luck he got us promoted I saw enough last year to know he would have secured it for us again. I would have kept him but spent that season looking for a serious manager to replace him when we got back up. *Thanks for the promotion and redemption RM but we've secured against the risk of what happened last time with this new guy, cheers, take care. We march on.*
The commentary on talksport for yesterday's match said and I quote "RM was sacked because of results and style of play and that Juric was brought in to change and make them better . if anything, he's made them worse"
^^ That was exactly my point the whole time I was defending RM and being called delusional. I never overly rated RM as a manager (I hoped maybe) because he was young and time to learn but mainly because our board seems incapable of finding a decent coach. I knew wholeheartedly the replacement would be a Juric type, I mentioned it endlessly and yet so many thought sacking fixes things. Not only that, but we would also get some of the managers on fans radar. We didn't. Also - look currently at those same managers fans on here were calling for, Potter, van Nistelrooy ect ??
A proportion of fans wanted RM gone because they thought with him in charge we were a laughing stock and yet (apparently) after the Bournemouth player scored yesterday he went and gave a Southampton fan his shirt ? .
The Bournemouth game will have been around 10+ games since RM was sacked, so I think it's safe to say yesterday was nothing to do with RM. If we're still a laughing stock without RM, what was the point in sacking him in the first place. You guys thought/hoped we would get someone better who would magically fix things. I saw in RM the best of a bad situation, the best in a line of recent dodgey managers that seems like it will continue for a while until it is seriously highlighted.
Some think we will magically get Rohl now too, why? Him and Sheffield will pass us by whilst we're left to stagnate.

RM had to go. His possession style, lack of flexibility and isolating creative players meant we would never survive in the PL and be a yo yo team at best.
Juric has been a mixed bag. He has brought out the best in Sulemana, Aribo and Big Les but has not given defensive stability, spirit or goals. Damage was already done.
We need to go back to the drawing board, figure out what style can get teams like us to go up and stay up, then build a squad and hire a manager to suit it.
SR did well to get Wood, Edwards and Wellington for 6m, plus get Ramsdale but their success rate on many players and managers is awful.
Hopefully the new Sporting Director can sort it out. We need a 3 year vision fans and players buy into.

That's my point though Kick, you can't keep saying damage is already done.
Are you going to keep saying the same thing halfway into the championship right before Juric gets the boot for having a sub-par season.
If the point of anyone being brought in was to improve the team/players that should have been implemented by now and if like you say that was an impossible job because the 'damage was already done' then what was the point in bringing in anyone at all.
Either the right man could have improved us or it was an impossible task. Meaning we either got/have the wrong guy in and or what was the point in the first place

Lesleee, never in a month of Sundays will I agree with you on RM. His legacy from the Championship will mean he will get work again, but never in the PL - trust me on that.
The squad’s confidence is shot and for that he holds some responsibility.
But for me, we are depressingly mediocre in every aspect on the park. Even yesterday, both sets of suns wee going through their paces at half time. Bournemouth were doing it under the watchful eye of one of their coaches - our lot were just playing keep it ups. Their team came on to the pitch second half looking like a team - ours just ambled on aimlessly - rather like their performance.
Little things can make big difference - unfortunately our little things are rubbish too.
Yep, a 3 year plan with strategic milestones to
Measure progress against targets. Will that happen? I seriously doubt it.

The damage was done in the sense relegation was inevitable by the time Juric came in.
If SR has been more decisive and got a proven PL manager in earlier, had time to change style and bring in players, it may have been a different story but any manager would struggle with this squad, spirit and fitness now.
SR are on their third strike. If they mess up player and manager recruitment again, they need to go.

RM had to go les, we would've been in worse conditions if he still was at the helm. The current condition of the club really is just a mix bag of not good enough players and the fact that most our good players left the club last season when we went down. Look at Alcaraz already scored in the prem. I get he wanted to leave but they club could've loaned him out again or worked around it.
What the club keeps doing is selling our best players and then signing a terrible replacement. Carillo being a prime example.
If we go down we need to start fresh and have a clean slate. Clean up the messes of the club. If we don't I don't even think we will be in the automatic promotion at this rate.
Hopefully in summer we find the pieces to put the puzzle together such as new capable staff and some standout players and as much as I don't mind juric I hope we get Rohl instead.

RM had to go purely based on the results in the premier league, his football style was transparent and very easy to press into mistakes. Juric appointment was strange I don’t understand it. I had hoped for him to bring stability and resolute defending having come from Italian football background but our defence is now all over the place!
The players look devoid of confidence and probably praying for the season to finish now.
The rebuild will be crucial and I don’t think Juric is the man, he was given an 18 months contract but should be released by the end of this season.
Whoever takes the job next season is going to have a very difficult time. A squad with zero confidence, a squad that’s value has plummeted, a squad who quality footballers will think twice about joining!
Absolute cockup by SR.
