I am feeling a tinge of hope amidst the sour situation if we get Danny Rohl in. He is a clean slate, flexible, sets up in a 4 2 3 1 and if he can take a bottom championship side to mid table, maybe he can take a mid table side to the playoffs.
Ramsdale, THB, Bednarek, ABK, Dibling, Fernandes, Bednarek, Bazunu and Onuachu/AA or Diaz will fetch us 150m
Sugawara, Bree, Wellington and Manning are good wing backs at this level. Edwards or Sanda could take THB's place
Charles and Downes (if he stays) is a strong double pivot, then Sulemana Edozie and 3 of Archer, Armstrong, Stewart and Diaz are good attacking players for the Championship.
All in all, a similar quality squad to last time, if we buy and loan well. Then Rohl is probably a better and more flexible level than Martin. I can see 4th to 6th finish

I believe suga said he will stay, I don't if that's confirmed but I do remember him saying he will stay on the sinking ship but I guess we fill find out

Remember though SaintKick that theory relies heavily on us A) Getting Rohl and B) Us getting him early doors.
Just how everyone thought sacking Martin was going to bring us in someone awesome. I was never obsessed with Martin the way everyone here seemed to think I was, what I was though was not under any delusion of our board to hire someone exactly the same or even worse and that's exactly what happened.
In all honesty I'm hoping for the best situation in the championship.and that's looking more and more from us saints viewpoint as Rohl, but what I honestly think will happen is Juric will be given half a season to see what he can do in the championship. By the point the board realise he's not up to the task, both promotion and Rohl may have passed us by.
Rohl early doors for me. No1 pre-season signing .and then have to hope he is the man we all hope he is.

True Leslee we need to first get Juric however I do not think he will stay for 1/2 a season as he is already set to leave at the end of the season hence why Rohl and Southampton talks are happening. I hope the board doesn't offer Juric 1/2 a season in the championship. Out of all the managers they could've signed earlier this season they chose a manager that ruined roma and got sacked 2-3 times by the same club.
Let's say we don't get Rohl, what other managers would be best to drive the club to success?

If SR had been shrewder, we would have moved Martin on earlier and had a chance to bring a good manager in but we are where we are.
At least Juric has brought some players in from the cold who can play an important part but overall not a great appointment.
Rohl in early and some statement signings and hopefully we can sneak in sixth or higher.

IF sr will be more shrewder. Time and time again they've shown us they haven't been. Wether it's incompetence or naivety I'm not sure but their track record with us is why I'm not getting carried away.
It's honestly not negative to suggest we will be mid table at best next season as I honestly see them giving Juric a rubbish in the championship and or if not signing some other unknown ass opposed to Rohl.

I see your point lesleee. Their track record is poor, so.a bad situation can be worse.
Let's hope Rohl is brought in early (I expect another RM situation about when we are a championship club on the compensation), convinces some key players to stay, gets the players he wants and we perform to our potential.
Under this scenario, I think we have a playoffs shot, otherwise it could be mid table I agree.
