Haven't posted in a while for the same reason as many others on here, some supporters have lost all optimism and whilst it's understandable (who wants to lose 5 of their first team players in one window. ) some have given no patience to Les Reed who has done a terrific job this window. As soon as the board emphasised back in February that we had a difficult 'financial situation' it was clear they would wipe the debt in the quickest way possible. Whilst this was never well communicated, actions speak louder than words and so we have seen these transfers in order to build a substantial transfer budget whilst also receiving payments from the tv money to start paying off the debt. Now whether you like it or not, this is how it is, perhaps KL feels the gap is too big to plug between 8th and a top 4 finish so she isn't willing to flush money into the club for now.

Nevertheless none of our players have left for an undervalued price showing that Reed and Rogers have been committed to getting the best deals for the club. This is again been proved by our signings in return with both Pelle and Tadić coming in on the Lallana money alone. To expect them to just blow the budget straight away on any player for any price is ludicrous. This is a business first nowadays, and likewise the values of who comes into the first team haven't changed, especially given the way Osvaldo and Lovren have acted. These incoming transfers will happen, people just need a bit of patience!

And for some to suggest Koeman would have had no say in the sale of Chambers is crazy, he had a great season last year but Clyne at least in my eyes was always the better fixture at right back and has been so far in pre-season. Therefore why not cash in on him now if Koeman's intention was always to play Clyne before him? His value would only drop after a while and there's already Jason McCarthy coming through the ranks in any case. And as goes Rodriguez to Liverpool or Tottenham there's no chance whilst he's still rehabilitating, neither will pay at least £20 million before having seen him kick a ball again.

I remain incredibly excited for the coming season, and hope by the end of the transfer window some of you will begin to see the light again, just remember it's red and white now.

My only worry is. last season we didn't really have strength in depth. And at this moment in time we have lost 5 and had 2 come in. We still need at least 5 more players in my eyes. Yes, it's ok to bring through the youngsters. But don't you think it's too much too soon?

SaintsFan 29 just what are you on to say Les Reed has done a terrific job - who for. The guy is a total disaster and could not negotiate anything apart from perhaps his own %.
Reliance on unproven kids will fail I am afraid and I only wish I had your optimism which clearly the bookies do not share heck out sanits latest relegation odds0
