Made an absolute meal of that, but a win's a win. Game management was seriously lacking - dominated the match until they took the lead, then it was all out panic and Saints stopped playing.

Fantastic goals from Bertrand and Pelle, though should've been more comfortable if only Long and Tadic could finish.

Onwards to Spuds.

people will disagree with me but I am still not sure of Forster, big lump but not enough agility for me, hope he proves me wrong. Pelle was tremendous but why do we keep attacking for 10 minutes and then say you can have it for a while. Great to be 2nd but we need to keep the ball better. They could quite easily have got a draw out of that you know but we are 3 times better than them.

It's a fair shout, chrisdownj - Forster's size is a great asset in close quarters (one-on-ones and such) but he doesn't move all that well.

Hasn't got anywhere near two 30 yard free kicks this week. Not even close.

It's a bit nitpicky, though. He's doing well overall and who knows how much more there is to come from him in terms of potential? Perhaps agility is an area he can improve on in time.

I agree with it being a bit nit picky but when you pay 10 million for a goalkeeper he really should have it all and not have to wait for him to improve in certain areas. Still can't see why we have let Boruc go, he was in many ways a more complete keeper to me apart from his silly antics. I know he is 32 but that's not old for a keeper. I think you all remember that I thought David Marshall was the better option. Just hope I am proved wrong. Last thing what a joke the TV coverage of the Prem is regarding us, we were obviously overlooked before the season started. I can't see why the game against Tottenham wasn't already pencilled in long ago. Maybe we will be recognised one day but not holding my breath, seems like they are just waiting for us to fail.

4 goals conceded in 6 games. Best in the Premier League so far. But of course some people are never happy.

I think what was meant was " they " ( being US ) took the lead and then we stopped playing. It doesn't read quite right but I worked out what the meaning was. Pelle was the difference again yesterday between winning or maybe not scoring at all, what a great buy he was.

Its been a surprisingly good start for Saints, and that's got to be down to the Manager, though there's no point in getting ahead of ourselves here, a top 10 finish would be good.
Tottenham away is the first real test since our winning run began and i would be happy with a point.
The criticism of Forster is a tad harsh, as Saints currently have the best defence in the Premier League, Kranjcar's free kick was way too good for any keeper and Austin's goal was a great piece of skill, I feel his presence makes a huge difference to the players in front of him and gives the defence confidence.
Mane looks a great buy, but a shame that Ward Prowse is out for a while, his attitude is second to none and he brings Skill, Vision and Work Rate to the team.
Steve Davis needs a mention as he is the unsung hero so far.

Sort of agree Russ but as good a goal as Austen's was watch it again and I think some keepers would have got down to it. Just watch all the free kicks against us outside the box and Forster hardly moves for any of them. We have only conceded 4 goals so far for two reasons, excellent defending and very poor finishing by our opponents. I really want to be proved wrong on this one, got a feeling I'll get my answer at the Lane on Sunday. I think it will be our first real test defensively.
