Seems Mepham has chosen Bournemouth over us, shame. Still hopeful that Ralph is going to pull a Bundesliga blinder our of the bag before February - we've been linked with a couple in the last week tho that's probably just journalists putting 2 and 2 together and getting 9.

If Long continues to perform I could see us not signing an attacking player - not saying we don't need one but maybe the board will think we can make do for now without spending £20m+ plus on a player who isn't worth it in this window.

If Forster and Hoedt go and we get one quality first team player in I'll take that as a successful and realistic month's work.

I think if we can get rid of Forster and Hoedt even without signing anyone that'd be a good window. A CB or exciting attacker (Lookman please) would be the icing on the cake.

Confident we'll stay up with the squad we have plus youth being brought through by Ralph. Then we can invest our money in the summer and push on next year hopefully.

The positives I can see from this match is our youngsters getting some match exp and we can fully concentrate on climbing up the table without being overrun by fixture congestion from another competition where (admittedly) we are far from favorites to come out as champions. Agreed Elyounessi was disappointing but it's highly unlikely he'll leave this January so we can only hope he improves. Don't want two Boufals by the start of next summer.
Ralph has said that our squad is too big and despite the departure of Davis and Gabs I cannot see us selling Hoedt without getting another CB in, seeing that we play 3 at the back and selling him leaves us short. Unless Ralph thinks Alfie Jones is up to the task. With the emergence of Obafemi and the return of Gallagher to full fitness it was an easy decision regarding Gabbiadini and I don't think a replacement for him will come in. Although what we do currently lack is another pacy direct winger in the roster. Why did we ever let Sims go on loan!

Leeds have now signed Casilla from Madrid - that almost definitely rules them out of signing Forster. Hopefully a top half Championship club can take him off our hands 🤞.
