There was so much wrong about the way we played against Burnley.

To start with Stephens was bizarre? Even is Stephens looks composed and plays well in training, he can not transfer that into a 'real' game. Is it his concentration? his nerves? . or is it quite simply that when under the pressure of a real game he just can't do it, he has less time to think, to act and he is simply not good enough.
Yoshida has shown time and time again he can perform at this level, so to bench him and play JS is bizarre!

But for me the really bad bad part of our performance was how disjointed we were. In fact I think it was the worst i have seen us play for a couple of years. The players rarely linked up and the interaction between midfield and attack was almost none existant. Always looking to go backwards and when the defence received the ball, I have NEVER seen us so static? Vestergard and Stephens particularly were just standing on the ball/ holding the ball, with what looked like absolutely no idea where to pass it to or who to pass it to?

The attack did not function at all, very disjointed, very little inter play and awful off the ball movement .

I'm going to stop there as the glass of wine that awaits me has far more appeal than anything else i could write about an abysmal performance!

Positives . Redmond very sharp .

Best part of the game .
