Awful match, for us and any neutral watching. We were uninspired, our midfield were sloppy on the ball, there was a massive disconnect between our holding and attacking midfielders.

Romeu, wasn't great. He gave the ball away so many times. Redmond, was very wasteful.

Don't think our best players being on international duty helped Ralph and the team prepare for the game.

Credit where it's due, Palace defended excellently with a makeshift defence.

Yeah I also don't think the formation suits us well. I think 4-3-3 is our best formation with either a defending CM or attacking CM.

It’s only round 1 but even Ralph (being outfoxed by the old master fox - Woy)! will have learned. It appears that Armstrong was greatly missed and perhaps Saints need another quality AM in place of Redmond in order to conquer any future similar situation they faced at Palace. Nice to see Vestergaard raise his game ( maybe we might keep him after all) ! Early days but the signs are there. With the addition of quality DM and AM plus aForward whilst keeping a close eye on our CB progress we have made huge strides forward. Onwards and Upwards! KOM.
