Good result tonight against Shrewsbury with some promising performances from the younger players however the evening somewhat soured by reports that Danny Ings may want to play for a champions League team, obviously with the recently disclosed financial report the club needs to be careful with the finances but what we must not do is loose key players and put Ralph in a position that he does not see a big future for himself and the club.

Ings is happy at the club he just doesn't want to be priced out of a move should a big club come in for him which is what the sticking point in the new contract is, he wants a release clause, the club don't. No reason he'd definitely go if that release clause was met, just wants the option.

If only Danny would take a step back and look at all the players that ‘big moves’ turned into disasters. In fact it’s easier to look at the other way round - the only player who’s career grew and grew was Van Dyke; to be fair to him, one of the greatest centre backs ever. But other that not much to shout about, even Rickie Lambert was never the same!
Does Danny want to be a squad player elsewhere? I doubt it. Is he playing the best football of his career? Absolutely without doubt . surely £££££s won’t sway him .

That's exactly it, he's happy being the star man here, he's happy with the money the club has offered him, he just doesn't want to be priced out of a big move where he'd be the star man at a champions league team, he doesn't want to go and sit on the bench somewhere else.
