Problem with having our best crossed playing on the left when he’s right footed. Perraud would I’m sure increase the quality, but when our two bets players are RBs that’s the problem.

However, I agree. Really good to watch, creating chances, and that’s 3 1-0 wins in four. Just need that killer instinct to go and score 2/3 when we’re on top and kill the game. But A Armstrong took his goal fantastically, Ralph reacted after 55 minutes to the Villa wave and helped kill the game. Romeu brilliant, and Norwich next. Win and we could suddenly be top half!

Morning South Hants Rich - I agree, best first half display I’ve seen in a very long time. As you say, still need to work on the final ball into the box but the intensity of our forward play was great. Salisu looks like another Liverpool player in the making, reads the game well and very strong!
McCarthy’s distribution was back to his very worst.
Job done - can enjoy the weekend now!

Oh and it was great to see that we can win a football match without Redmond!

The biggest change for me is Ralph making substitutions and formation changes, much, much earlier.
Perhaps he has finally abandoned his ‘my way or the highway’ attitude.
Wasn’t happy before with JWP and Romeu being so defensive minded; just maybe they didn’t trust the back four/maybe they were under instructions, to protect the back four at all cost. Romeu seems a different player now, playing box to box. JWP was irritatingly around and sometimes behind the back four. It adds an unnecessary link in the passing chain. Great to to see Ralph also go to three centre backs - he also did the same with the B team, playing Valery as a CB.

Great to see Djenepo and Walcott not considered as useful substitutions. Without Redmond the ball was definitely getting into box more often and quicker. Although, as I said above, poor crossing into the box; not sure I can think of one that went to one of our players.

All in all, starting to really enjoy watching Saints again.
It’s also much more relaxing to watch knowing that Ralph will if necessary, change shape etc

Love to see Lyanco and Salisu together.

Love to see Broja start. Great goal from Armstrong!
Adams is a very, very clever player.

Love to see all three on the pitch …
