Great result!' Lots of comments about how much better we played, especially Romeu and JWP.
It really is simple. For whatever reason, Ralph has stuck to his formation, two CB's and two holding midfielders. JWP has been playing around the ankles of our CB's, contributing little to attack. Romeu also playing too deep.
So we've had a pretty static midfield.

Play 3 CB's and what a difference! Perraud pushing up, JWP and Romeu much, much further up the pitch. So now we have a midfield that really is a midfield, dynamic, lots of interplay, options everywhere!

Great result

What a fantastic all round performance from front to back. JWP has been phenomenal this last month or so and is so much more effective playing in a more advanced position. Mind you, that tackle at the end was out of the very top drawer - tackle of the season.
Competition for places is hitting up - Diallo had IMO his best game for the club tonight and Broja is the first attacker on the team sheet - how we need to keep him.
With Che getting on the score sheet and Adam A due a few goals it’s all looking brighter.
Tricky 3 games coming up but with confidence high, there’s every reason to be optimistic that we can kick on.
As someone who has to make a 250 mile round trip for home games it’s been a while since I felt that after glow on the journey home.
Well played tonight lads!

Millertime :
It’s going to sound all soppy, but it’s fans like you that make an incredible journey to watch Saints, that make this a great club!
My commute is 1 mile and even I abandoned my season ticket because of the dross, so respect!

Unleash JWP and he becomes the engine behind the team. As for that tackle… unbelievable

How kind Rich - thank you!
1 mile or 250, as fans we all deserve a night like last night to rekindle the faith. We can’t possibly win every game but we can die trying and that’s what was missing for a long period. However, hope springs eternal, and it maybe that we are turning the corner. Even Redmond has put in a shift and while he wouldn’t make my starting lineup I cannot deny his recent work rate.
Wasn’t it great to see the smiles on the faces of the new chaps in the box!
