Really depends on what team is out there. The team that was on top form around Dec/Jan last year or the one that finished the season.

Let’s hope the extra additions can galvanise us into the former.

I think Ralph has to start well or he will be under a lot of pressure. I don’t think he will get as much leniency as last season.

Don’t think I would risk any bets on August results with Ralph’s unpredictable history of team selection ( or Millertime could end up owning a brewery)! but would suggest he may need a box of sleeping tablets to help him through the month!.January could be deadline to achieve acceptable target or maybe finitum!

It is interesting . but true! That Ralph’s name crops up when predicting how we’ll get on!
Ralph and his bizarre almost surreal, team selections should be a thing of the past!
Mind you, just looked at the team sheet for our first warm up game today .
Bednerek Captain . does Ralph think that will make him want to stay? There is a reason players like Bednerek and all before him in the Ralph era, want to leave!
Anyway . I also spotted Djenepo is on the tour? I assumed Ralph had binned him too!
The club announce Djenepo, Walcott and Redmond are available to any clubs . 2/3 are not on the tour and the worst player is!
In answer to how many points .

Some interesting and quite different views - no one is right or wrong, just shows the pendulum of optimism.
Talking of which, I need a little of whatever you’re drinking South Hants Rich. I love your ballsy prediction and if you’re even close, you will certainly have earned the respect of fellow pundits on here.
Ok, I will get off the fence and predict 5 points although to be fair, I’m not entirely sure where the win will come from?!

Great goalkeeper will make a huge difference
A striker will (must) arrive before season start
No more Redmond . he slowed our play down and always made the wrong decision with the ball
A more dynamic midfield

I also want to add : I think the new coach is very influential in the decision making. One perfect example : Redmond was a Ralph favourite. even as far as playing him up front with Che and Adam A on the bench, I’m sure he even played him up front with Broja on the bench .
And now not even on the tour!
Pre new coach, Ralph would have carried ‘Redders’ bay for him!

Sometimes it’s not about who we buy it’s about who we don’t play and where we play players .
Don’t play Diallo, Redmond, McCarthy
Play Perraud and kwp in their positions

You’re right and its about instilling confidence in players. Clough was a maestro at that and closer to home McMenemy brought players in the twilight of their careers to add guile and experience.

The best example of all was Sir Alf Ramsey who told a young Alan Ball who had just broken into the England team, “son, you will be picked for the next 6 games - I won’t be looking at your performance until games 5 and 6”.

The rest is history but can you imagine what that did for his confidence. Unfortunately, too many of our players are walking on eggshells either frightened to make a mistake or over eager and trying too hard.

I’ve said for a while, I have no clue what our strongest starting line up is and probably even less now.

I’d go 5 - beat Leeds, pick up a couple of draws - we could literally win any of those games and equally get hammered in all of them.

Can’t see us getting anything from spurs and Chelsea, can see a draw from Leicester and utd and we’ll beat Leeds
