Lets take Townsend Kane Holtby and Rose in a swap for Adam - sounds about the same amount of dosh.
Or even Flanagan Sterling and Agger
May be Welbeck and Jones
Possible Dzeko and Richards

What a load of old tosh - Adam is going nowhere!!!

Outlets are reporting that Lallana had a secret meeting with Les Reed last night to plead for a move to Liverpool. It is also reported Bournemouth have been contacted by Lallana's representatives, in order to discuss the 25% sell on fee.

This is all contradiction to Lallana's comments of wanting to 'push on with the club. ' It would be an awful shame if he lied to fans and forced a move away, tarnishing his reputation with supporters who love him, and team mates he claimed to love just days ago.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Outlets are wrong. Secret meetings, by there nature, cannot be reported upon. Unless, one of the attendees reveals the secrets, at which point they are no longer secrets and the 'secret meeting' becomes just a 'meeting'.

I also fail to see why a players agent would be involved in speaking to Bournemouth about the sell on few. That would between the two clubs. I also fail to see why Bournemouth would be willing to negotiate. They have strong financial backing and would, like Southampton fc, only benefit from holding out for the best price. More fiction from fact less news sites.

Saw that in the sun as soon as it said 'a Southampton insider' I knew it was more bull

Lallana has already shown he has a cool rational head on him. If he didn't he would have left a while ago. He's ambitious but not aggressively so. This whole story doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Why would he have this meeting now? Why not wait until after the game tomorrow when he finds out whether or not he goes to Brazil? Why not wait until after the WC?

If we assume he wants to leave then we assume he will also want to make as much money as possible. If he goes to the WC, regardless of how well he does, he will be a full blooded competition international. He would be able to negotiate from a position of strength in regards to money and his role in the side. Apply the same logic to the club and there's another reason they wouldn't accept an offer prior to a WC. You might get the first come premium price, but the other party wouldn't choose to negotiate before a WC unless it were in there benefit. And, in this particular, it serves to reason that if it's good for them its bad for us.

These people aren't persons. They know their business. If the wanted to sell and Adam wanted to leave it would not be occurring in this fashion. This strikes me more of the papers trying to manufacture a transfer story to open up that debate. Also look at the development of the Lallana transfer saga as a whole. You can see where it is being manufactured and manipulated - it's so remarkably obvious. The whole thing has been baseless and I've yet to see a modicum of proof to suggest he will go.

For the record I don't believe he'll go. The club don't want to sell and he has made no verifiable suggestion he wants to leave. If anything it's the opposite. When reviewing articles like these it's important to not conflate motivation with intent, correlation with causality, assumption for information and a lack of dispelling a rumour with the desire to see that rumour taken to it's conclusion.

We are i'm afraid in the middle of the silly season when every man and his dog is going to invent stories about our wonderful players wanting to leave. The truth however is that it is all wishful thinking on their part, and the only circumstance in which any of their wildest hopes could come to fruition is if Saints fail to deliver a new plan with the required ambition. I however am annoyed that they have left it this late to discuss Pochettino s contract all it has done is creat huge uncertainty and upset the club s fans. Seriously stupid of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone is concerned about about players leaving but rember they are under contract and will only leaves at saints terms, your club is in a good place, look how well you've done. Palace supporter

Hi chaps, my first time on this site, does anybody think Britt Assombalonga is worth taking a look at for next season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good young player, but would like to see how he does in the championship before getting too interested

Potty off to Spurs, Shaw to Chelsea, and Lallana to Man utd, MoPo will return for Schneiderlin.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lovren to L'pool, Cork to Everton, Chambers to Arsenal, Lambert to West Ham and Rodriguez to L'pool. Boruc, Ward-Prowse, Fonte and Clyne will all spontaneously combust.

Next year we're going to have Guly as our main striker and Jos as our best defender! Can't wait!

I see you've also read the papers lately

Evening all. Having read this site for two years and not contributed once. I now see a sea change in attitude. In the past the talk has mainly been who we will look at / buy / scout but now even we are talking of who will go! I can't help but think this negative attitude fosters disappointment. So my point is believe we will keep our proven talent, and that more will come through. We will splash the cash wisely on decent talent and if he stays we get behind Osvaldo, the guy obviously wants to be loved, so help and trust him and he will pay us back.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree. It's bad enough with the media vomiting lies onto the back pages, but could do without our own fans swallowing these lies and assuming the worst.

If Miss Liebherr was in no way interested in the club, she would sell it now, when we are in a strong position. If she wants to sell all the clubs assets, then we have to assume that she would also relish dancing on her fathers grave while she does it.
The fact that she is showing interest in the club suggests she does want to honour her fathers wishes for the club. Perhaps, she may show less passion and invest less money than he did. That's fair enough and her choice. We have to accept that.
I think we may sell a player or two this summer, but because they are angling for a move not because the club want to sell.
Looking forward to a great summer of football, POSITIVE rumours about transfers. Oh! And a certain former beetroot factory worker scoring the winning goal in the final, thanks to some searing pace down the left wing (from a young left back) and a clever flick from the English Iniesta.

The question is, will the club be asset stripped with the best players moved on, then the club sold to American or middle east owners, let's face it they saved the club they are business people the club was a bargain buy and they have put it back to a good place, like was said players and owners come and go, it's ripe for selling.

Agree0 Disagree0

If they wanted to sell they wouldn't asset-strip first, that would devalue the club too much. I know Saints are a pretty cool club, but really you should go on the page of the team you support

Agree0 Disagree0

Asset stripping BEFORE a sale is utterly redundant. If you are going to asset strip a company you do it for the intention of liquidation. So if you were going to strip a company of it's assets you wouldn't do it before a sale. You might do it after a purchase in order to make an immediate profit, or you might do it to cut your losses before liquidation. Honestly the amount of people here who like to comment about finance and economics without knowing the first thing about it is ridiculous.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sell a couple of players for 60 million would get back what the owners have spent, sell the club for 150 million looks good business, I do hope it doesn't happen but without huge investment this season could be our best ever. Poch has got other plans it's not rocket science to see it.

{Ed007's Note - In future will you please log-in before posting.}

Just makes you wonder why cortese left he had great plans for the future, that alone shows the club has other plans, to his credit though very close to cortese poch has remained at the club. Trouble would be if poch left all his back room staff will go with hin. A well life goes on.

Agree0 Disagree0

I must we had many rumours how ruthless cortese was but give the guy credit his vision and know how has got the club in a fine situation, I just don't want our club to be a 2 season wonder. although we all hoped the club has done so well perhaps punching above its weight it will be a great shame if all expected turmoil end up happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nameless poster nonsense, seems commonplace since the site started requesting people to register. No point believing anything until it's announced on the OS, particularly this summer.

If we believe what the papers say we won't have a team next season! Obviously this hounding by the media is irritating, but the publicity the club is getting as a result of it all is something to be celebrated. We're quickly becoming the neutral's most popular club because of our youth policy and style of football. As a business it would be a huge mistake if the Saints board were to disrupt that, and that is why we have nothing to worry about. We have very sensible heads leading the club into the next five year plan.

Danny fox has officially signed for Nottingham forest on a 3 year deal. Good luck Danny; great championship player but just not quite premier league standard. Hopefully he does will for his new club.
