So the club has done great this season and they deserve all the praise they have been getting but as fans we know we have to push on from here. in my opinion we still lack in some big areas. so here are a few players I think we should aim to get in positions I feel need we need to buy in.

Holger Badstuber (Cb) Bayern (it would have to be a big bid though)

GK ter Stegan he is a great young goal keeper worth a bid atleast

Luis Muriel (St) I rate this player and I think he could be the kind of Suarez style player we are looking for (before you say anything i'm not saying he is like saurez i'm saying he could be that kind of player we are looking for)

rafa braga again another good player.

some of these ae maybe a step to far but if we want to push on thee are the kind of players we should be looking at.

Badstuber and ter stegen are a step too far at the moment

Maksym Koval from dynamo kyiv is one of the best young 'keepers around (definitely better than ter stegen was at the same age) who we've apparently been looking at. Astori or Umtiti (hopefully) will be the CB we go after

Muriel would be great, on a 5 year contract so he'll probably cost near £20 mil but would be worth it (maybe do a swap with osvaldo + some money if he doesn't go to juve or work it out here)

Koval looks to be a good shout :)

Ter Stegen is almost certain to go to Barcelona but Badstuber and Muriel could be more realistic, it really depends on Pochettino's preference. I think he would be aiming to bring in Spanish speaking or 'saints-esque' players if he can. Banega and Osvaldo for example. But if Southampton were to sign any of these players I'd be delighted none the less :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Are we still on the Banega rumour?

So do we go Hernandez from Man Utd. Right age and proven in the Premiership. Pick him up for the cost of Osvaldo. Along with Richards/Shawcross or Caulker that should see us top six. Getting excited about next season already. COYR.

I would take shawcross as I think Richards wages could be a sticking point and stats why this season shawcross has been awesome!

Rather have Ings, So many reasons why.
1. he's young
2. he's english
3 he's a Saints fan
4. he has looked really impressive every game I have seen him this season, (I would argue more impressive than Jay Rod was season before we picked him up)
5. he can play up front or just off striker which is what we need
6 he has loads of energy (good for pochs tactics)
7. he is good finisher and great at link up play.

Nobrainer for me if not too expensive

Agree0 Disagree0

Coud not agree more regarding Dany Ings a fantastic prospect we should have gone for him in the January window. can't see Burnley leting him go easily now.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't get why everyone is raving about ings, it's too early for him, this is his first good season, J-Rod had 3 good season at championship level before he came here and it took him a season to find his feet in the prem, who knows if Ings can do it again he might go off the boil next season, I'd rather us wait until atleast jan next year, if he's scoring as regularly as he has this season then, then yeah get him but the summer is definitely too early, there's a reason no prem teams went after him in Jan

Possibly ship one of our youngsters on loan there next season if we can have first refusal on Ings

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember a certain Rickie Lambert knocking Saints out of the FA Cup for Brizzle Rovers when we were in top flight football.

While I agree that Ings is on the inexperienced side, he certainly showed against us that he can play against the top sides. He also holds an affinity for Saints since we is a fan.

We could do a lot worse, and the deal would be relatively cheap. He'd also add a certain amount of pace to the front line.

While he isn't that glamorous signing that many people would want to see, I think he'd do very well for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd love Ings to sign, as he's a great prospect young, English and above all a Saints fan so he would play his heart out for us. Has lots of potential to and would fit right in with our tactics, sign him up I say or give Gallagher more of a chance, as I think he has even more potential

Agree0 Disagree0

Lambert never played for Bristol Rovers when we were in the top flight?

I'd love us to sign him too

Jay Rod, Ings, Lambert and Gallagher would be a decent front 4 for next season. all english!

{Ed003's Note - little story about Rickie used to watch him as a youngster on the training ground when he was at Blackpool,the kid was class but when pro contracts were given it was a choice between him and a kid called McMahon,McMahon got the pro contract (can anyone guess why ?) }
