There's a rather terrible article in the daily fail today saying that the Shaw to United deal is already done. Mixed in with no new facts or quotes or information of any kind. Remember when I said one media source starts a rumour andanother will just expand on it randomly in the hope to guess what happens first? That.

Oh but there is one little portion which says that Shaw is off to united, Lallana off to 'Pool and Poch off to Spurs saying that the squad wil be broken up.

What I hat about this utter presumption is that there isn't even precedent for it. Can anyone think of a team that wholesale broke up their own squad with no internal or external promping or where relegted? Anyone.
I honestly cannot fathom how someone could think a clubs owners could be so utterly moronic to just sell all its best players. Even Tan isn't that mental. It's just so ridiculous that I cannot understand how some people think, experts and pundits too, that it will actually happen. Sure, there has been a horrific saturation of the media of such transfer stories, but everyone knows the medi is full of it. It's like Nostradamus, sure he got some things right, but if you guess thouands upon thousands of thins just by pure volume you're going to get some right. Eurgh, this is all going to give me a brain bleed before the summers over.

Lallana has put his house up for sale. Fact.

Says who?

If Lallana has put his house up for sale, I'd imagine it's to buy a bigger house locally.

Seriously, his family is round here. I can't imagine him cutting all ties to the south coast if he did leave - which I still believe won't happen.

How incredible is it that in 5 years we have gone from the depths of league 1 to getting an 8th place finish in the premier league, with now 3 players, 2 of which were playing regularly for us in league 1 who are going to a world cup and 2 have been named in the team of the year :O that truely is an unbelievable turn around!

never ever doubted Rickie Lambert for a second knew he would make the cut! Well done to Adz n Luke too! Also expecting poch to sign a new deal and Adz and Luke will both stay, Adz isn't done yet at st marys he will look to lead us to the next level, the next Matt Le Tiss if you will. Up the Saints!

Expect after a couple of weeks away with the England squad lallana and shaw will be more unsettled when they start talking wages with the rest of the squad if they are not gone before.

Absolutely thrilled for Rickie to get in to the England Squad for the WC. Lallana and Shaw are going to be there for years, but Rickie this is probably going to be his first and last international tournament. He's worked hard for years to get here and I'm absolutely delighted for him, you can tell how much this all means to him. I hope he can go and bag a goal or two whilst he's there as well!

Great post TJ, I think you've summarised the majority of Saints fans views, he deserves his call up and I think he'll do a good job

Exactly what I was thinking, he was the Saints player I would have been most gutted for if they left him out

So it looks like Luke and Adam will be leaving us. Very sad to think about them leaving us, especially Adam, but that's football. But look on the bright side! The income we are looking at from Shaw, Lallana and Osvaldo could end up totaling £50m+! With this we can first and foremost pay off those outstanding transfer fees before bringing new players in. And with us being a top 8 club now, the players we are able to bring in and afford is quite exciting, and with our style of play if I can see many good players wanting to join us. We can still keep moving forward even without Luke and Adam, we still have a great team without them. It's going to be an exciting and nervy transfer window but I really think we will start the next season stronger than what we are. Who would you like to see come in, what positions? Keep the faith :)

This 'financial crisis' the club is in is nothing, the transfer 'debt' is 22mil over the next 2-3 years - every club has that, more than likely more, it's easily manageable for us, without selling players, it's just more than Cortese let on.

Lallana and Shaw are unlikely to force a move, they're not the type, time is on their side - they'll give it at least another year to see where we end up before possibly moving by which point Hesketh and Targett will be ready to make the step up.

I'm definitely in the minority but if he wants to return I'd like to see Osvaldo back in a Saints shirt - reckon he and Mayuka coming back could be a massive boost

MoPo, Cork and Fonte all have a year left, there's nothing to worry about there - the background that Kruger and MoPo are from, they regularly let contracts go down into their final year, as Kruger said earlier, they have no idea what the panic is about - they're still contracted whether they have a year or 5 years left.
