{Ed001's Note - especially as the time stamp is when it is submitted to the sites, not when we post it up on them.....}

I'm more Itk than Ed and he isn't to keen on that fact. My uncle Dave was pulling my plonker over those other 3

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - and the John Stones post you sent in about him signing for Saints? I wonder why every site ends up with one of you, the muppet who thinks it is 'funny' to send in dross. Like it is the first time we have seen the nonsense.}

14 Aug 2015 20:27:39
Understand it may be the norm in dorset but your "uncle" could end up in the dock alongside a few politicians (allegedly) if you continue playing with your mouse!

Instead of keep trying to pull our plonkers Saintdorset why not spend more time pulling your own then perhaps you won't have time to post so much crap on this site. I think everyone has realised that you don't know anything at all about what is happening at Saints although you do give us a good laugh from time to time.

You can't really blame any of us here for questioning if you're a true saints fan or not.

Everton press conference had a few gems of transfer news and injury updates

Regarding the signing of Romeu, he was already on the scouting list, Koeman knew his agent and said it was the right moment for him to make the move to Saints.

Fonte is our captain, not for sale as far as Koeman is concerned.

When asked about VVD, he said there was nothing much to say, had a big grin on his face when asked if Saints had made a bid, and responded 'I don't know'.

No updates on Wanyama contract talks when he was asked.

Clasie out for 2-3 weeks, Caulker out for the weekend, Bertrand back in training but at least two more weeks until he will be back to match fitness.

why is it that all these young players seem to always be injured? The likes of Jose and Rickie etc. might not be very young but seem always fit enough to play . I just wonder whether the fitness training is pushing them to the limits with muscles and tendons etc. and the older players never had to do the intense training like they do today when they were 16 /17.

I would of thought there's been improvements since sports science has become such an essential department at most football clubs. If you compare our training regime to Man United's we must be doing something right as last season they were seeing players pick up injuries almost every week before even kicking a ball!

Clasie's injury was just unfortunate as a player landed on his ankle.

Betrand needed some sort of corrective surgery on his knees, was probably scheduled by the club in any case.

And Caulker has a sinus infection, not even related to football!

However the exception to this is Gaston Ramirez, he seems to pick up muscle strains repeatedly, that seems to be more to do with the individual that the training regime though.

I can't see why clubs cannot conduct their business prior to the start of the new season.
The transfer window should open from June 1st until August 1st, only loan players can be purchased up to September 1st. easy.lol
And please stop slating Gaston Ramirez, all saints fans know he is not injury prone and is fully fit from 1 min - 20 min in first half and 45 min - 55 min in the second half.lol

Aston Villa in for Fonte?? Hope this is not true.

if you take into consideration his age and probably the last chance to get good money for him , provided we got two ch in his place guess it would make sense . Fantastic servant but maybe time to go

Fonte to Villa or Everton on TV, can't be any truth here?

13 Aug 2015 12:54:13
I really hope this isn't true. With so much change at the back during this summer we need his stability. I suppose it all depends how much money has been offered? Saints may be looking at his age and what else is available in the market, but still could be a risky strategy - Time will tell.

Romelu contract.

Anyone know why we signed him for 3 years not the standard 4?

That only gives us 2 years to develop and then sell him if his values multiplies.

It's also less of a risk if he picks up another serious injury or flops

13 Aug 2015 15:16:12
He has had serious knee troubles in the past. Saints are possibly hedging their bets until they're certain that the injuries are far behind him.

If he plays a full season, expect them to offer a contract extension for an extra year or two in the summer.

Harry Reed will be the same age as Romelu when his 3 years expires - might be in their thinking?

I'm impressed. For 4 mil in todays very inflated market this is a great deal. Haven't seen much of him but seeing former chelsea players like Bertrand and Cork playing so well for us after leaving chelsea, he could continue the trend. A bit worried that we replaced another Englishman with a foreigner but there's still plenty of english players in the squad.
The depth and competition for places is for all to see. All we need now is a quality CB and the squad can cope with the league and Europe. I would love San Jose to come, seeing our good relation with Bilbao, but that looks highly unlikely and most people are fixed on VVD coming in. Although Romeu's interest came out of nowhere under the rubble of Goretzka rumours, so we'll see.

Looks like we will end up with two midfielders and a centre back, and left with some change out of Morgan's sale! Financially, that is pretty good work. Just up to those 3 players to show they can produce the goods in the Premiership but they have every reason to strive to do this and I am still feeling top 6 is possible.

After a CB, I would not be surprised if we did not bring in one more player as a bit of a surprise package. We could still be after the pacey winger we were looking for last season (hope its not Townsend!)

13 Aug 2015 12:19:50
Agree St Martin. CB is a priority and must be done this transfer window but once it is done Les Reed could be considering another signing depending on circumstances (players available, budget, etc) Maybe an additional striker or winger, maybe on loan.

Don't think Townsend would be that much of a bad signing only 24

Maybe when he is 34 he will become part of a team rather than play on his own!
