Everytime I go on this site I have let known my reservations about forster and have hoped to be wrong but i see no reason to change my concerns, boruc won games for saints last season but koeman has stated he is unlikely to return, davis is sadly past it so it stands to reason we need someone else, how about wayne hennessey from crystal palace, can't get in the first team but watched him for wales against belgium and was brilliant under pressure, just a thought!

He's hardly at fault for today's goal, his weight was on the other foot when the deflection occurred so it was very unlikely he'd still be able to make contact with the ball. Today's loss will do no good for his confidence mind you. All we can hope is that the team is fired up to try and get into the semi final of the league cup on Tuesday.

Well when things are going wrong you just have to pick yourself up and get on with it. Pretty poor display against a team that were average at best. Everton Saturday is a must or the wheels will have come off big time. Confidence has gone and with it belief.

I already think the wheels have come off. Defensively poor and can't score for.
We need to invest in more players in the window so we have depth of squad, a few injuries and we look and play like a mid-table team, whereas the potential is to do and be better.

The previous 3 defeats I can just about understand as we were playing against £ multi million teams with strength in depth but to gift a very poor Burnley side 3 points is almost unforgivable. You can carry 1 or 2 players in games like today's but the whole team seemed lethargic and off the pace today. Now it's time for Ronald to earn his money.

This one played out on form. Burnley have had some good form and showed confidence, an aggressive determination to get the result and deserved it. Saints on the other hand, well we're still out of sorts, inconsistency all over the pitch today. We normally merit ourselves on controlling the game with a slick passing game but there was none. Whilst we weren't tested too much defensively, when we were it was down to our own errors and players being caught out of position.

This will be a real test for Koeman's managerial expertise to dig us out of a hole for what doesn't look like such an appetising fixture against Sheffield Utd on Wednesday.

Just hope the game on Tuesday can give us a kick start.

Utter dross today. The exact same issues highlighted over and over once more the main contributory factors in the 4th loss in a row.

Defensive mistakes: check.

Goalkeeper should have done better: check.

No creativity: check.

Lack of urgency: check.

Tadic AWOL: check.

Mane all over the place: check.

Can't complain at the result. Burnley are woeful, but Saints were no better. Sheffield United will fancy their chances in midweek.

Positives: Ward-Prowse came back and seemed in reasonable shape. Hesketh looked quite promising until he got injured. And that's about it.

Defensive mistakes: *mistake singular
Goalkeeper should have done better: not sure how you expect him to redirect his whole body after a deflection like that.
No creativity: missed a pen. Both fonte and wanyama should have scored headers from jwp crosses, could (should) have been 3-1
Lack if urgency: I believe when we played Leicester it was called patience.
Tadic AWOL: not his best game but we can't expect him to win everything in his own
Mane all over the place: he is clearly still adjusting to the prem. he clearly has talent, it will come

Yes it was a dissapointing result but these things happen. All we need is a couple of wins and we will be off on another roll.

Keep the faith, we are still 5th in the premier league!

Tadic has a groin problem. Listen to what RoKo says, rather than pursue your own agenda.

Mane is trying too hard. He is a good player, he needs to calm down.

I know you think we are just moaning for the sake of it but do you honestly think that we have been good enough recently ? We create very few chances so when we don't take them I believe we have a right to get pretty frustrated, many other teams that have few chances do seem to take them. I still think FF is a factor in our recent insecurity at the back, I believe the back four are not convinced in his ability to control the penalty box and get a bit nervy about whether to leave it to him or not. Somebody said we don't become a bad team overnight and that is true we are not a bad team, we just seem to have lost our way but we need a good shake because the determination, self belief and passion seems to have diminished and we need it back fast otherwise players like Wanyama and Morgan might want to find pastures new pretty soon.
