Love the ambition shown signing lovren for €10 million euros. Would love to see astori Aswel then another centre mid, a winger and a goal scoring striker to not rely on lambo all the time. Finally with the interview from lovren I can't see shaw going anywhere when he talks of the young ambitious side the chairman and manager are portraying! Love it

We may need another right back aswell considering we've only got one

Agree0 Disagree0

We defo do not need another CB now, Lovren and Forren should be our starting pair, with Fonte and Yoshida acting as cover then I think we should sell Hoiveld, and use the likes of Jack Stephen and Martin for cover when we need them as both have a lot of potential

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you say that Forren should be in our starting pair of CBs-no one has seen him play in the Premiership yet!

Saint Martin

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he will as we signed him for 4m from some Norwegan side and unless they're decent I doubt Cortese would spend that much on a player he didn't think would add something to the team and if Liverpool and Everton wanted him to he has to be good, expect to see him playing next year

Lovren is a class signing, absolutely brilliant work by Cortese and Pochetino! Hopefully can conclude a few more deals, like Full back cover at both positions, a winger and a striker, so: Gamez, Lamela and Adrian?

We are not going to get anywhere near the type of players being touted on this forum! Very Sad but true! Same as January lots of noise but nothing happened! When we Tried to get the likes of cortinho! Yes we have the money! But in the cold light of day the type of players we want don't want to sighn for us! And they will not untill we can show that we can offer Europen football best chance we've got is sighning young talent and players from are own academy and bringing them on as sir Alex done at Man utd. then and only then will attract the big names players that we all want to see!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Are'nt we

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet Dejan Lovren has just joined from a champions league side! Absolute class, good potential too him and Forren our future partnership!

From our rumours I'm hoping for Astori (£10m), Bueno (£8m), Banega (£8m), Gamez (£3m).

Also like to add a young prolific Goalscorer to that around the £12-£15m mark (e. g. Luis Muriel).

Total spend £40 - £45m.

Would like to sell Guly, De Ridder, Lee, Sharp and Hooiveld for about £5-£7m combined. Net spend of about £33-£40m.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So you want us to keep fox!?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love Lovren, Astori, Gamez, Wanyama, Sinclair and Heung-Min

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi, OP here.

In terms of priority I would personally keep Fox as cover for now. I'm trying to be realistic with the budget and think other areas need strengthening before our back-up LB (e. g. CB, RB back-up, creativity going forward & goalscorer).

However if there was the option for a LB on top of that, I would obviously happily upgrade since Fox will need replacing this year or next.

Hope that helps. Please post your ideal transfers if you disagree!

Agree0 Disagree0

Heung-Min, Verdu and Douglas have already signed for other clubs.

Hoping for Astori, Lamela and Wanyama.

Still need a RB as cover as well as LB as Fox is no where near good enough. ST is largely more difficult. Wanted another bull upfront like Rickie but Lukaku is staying at Chelski and I don't think we would ever go for a loan.

RB, LB, CB, CM, AM and ST.

Realistic Saint

Agree0 Disagree0

Ideal transfers for me would be Astori (£10-14m), Gamez (£3-5m). Sinclair (£5-8m)

Those would equate to between (£18-27m)

Don't feel the need for Banega as we have plenty of good options in central midfield areas (defensive and attacking). Then maybe Bueno or just a random good player who hasn't been linked with us which is likely to happen.

Talk of a Striker but seeing as Mayuka hardly played last season I don't think we should get another one unless he goes, would like to see him given a chance really. Play Lambert less and Mayuka more, Lambert is a fantastic impact sub if we're behind as well. I think he only came off the bench twice last season and scored both times within minutes!

Would happily see Fox and Hooiveld go to Reading or another team in the Championship, wouldn't mind Guly going but I can't see it.

IQ 134 saint.

Agree0 Disagree0

You shouldn't call yourself realistic Saint if you are hoping for Lamela, he has stated he wants to stay at Roma after interest from Chelsea and City. Would be amazing but it ain't going to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

IQ 134 saint, what are you thinking! Lambert has been a class player at all levels. Mayuka is the sub for a late impact.

Agree0 Disagree0

In all honesty I think we need to be careful with the spend this summer. If we have a big budget we should attempt to bring in as much as we possibly can with it in terms of playing talent.

I'll start with goalkeepers, I think we're fine for now. Kelvin and Gazza are both good options if something goes wrong with Boruc who is a great keeper.

Moving to Central defence I heard that Dejan Lovren was on our wish list as well as David Astori and potentially Frederik Sorenson. In my view out of those we should look to sign either Lovren or Astori with Sorenson as a younger option hopefully for a maximum of £15million between the two signings but I'd hope to pay even less. This would hugely boost our defensive ranks and allow us to sell Hooiveld and potentially give Forren a loan while still having options (think if Forren isn't in our first few starting line up plans next season we need to send him to a Championship team for the season to see how he develops in English football).

At right back I don't know who would be a good addition to the squad really and I'm not going to pretend I know much about potential targets here other than Gamez. All I will say is that at absolute most we want to spend £5million, preferably less on someone who we can rely on a good 4/5 years from so we don't need to worry about that position again any time soon. As for left back I think Fox and Targett will do for cover for now. Plus Clyne can play left back so our Right back cover could go on the right with Clyne playing the left.

In the Centre of midfield we don't need any additions to Ward Prowse, Cork, Spiderman and Davis but if we are to sign one I'd hope to go for one who is young and hungry for play time to really keep Cork and Spiderman on their toes. Max spend here is £10million if we can shift Chaplow and Dean Hammond off for reasonable sums. But either of those are decent cover with the others. It's not a priority build spot really.

As for Wingers, I really hope this is where we spend some money. We need one more with serious pace and technical ability to threaten the positions of Ramirez, Lallana and Puncheon. Guly may be worth keeping as he's good for the training attitude apparently. Maybe not first team quality all the time but possibly worth having in the camp. De Ridder on the other hand I hope finds a new club this summer.

Finally onto the attack, I hope we see a good young goal scorer come in to really pressurise the attack in the first 11. We need options to play with up front so we can rotate if a striker loses form. Mayuka needs more game time next season to show what he's got. Lee and Sharp should both be sold as it'll be difficult for them to re-adjust to the team again especially having been previously told they aren't good enough for it and sent away on loan.

Really I can see us spending in excess of £50million this summer depending on how much we earn in player sales of course. But if we make even close to £10million out of Hooiveld, Chaplow, Hammond, De Ridder, Sharp, Lee and potentially others who may be sold (potential for Fox or Guly I suppose despite my defence on keeping them earlier or maybe even Fonte could be sold even though I rate him highly). I imagine that kind of spend could happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think realistic saint did say hoping! And why post interest from Chelsea and City as if Saints were not interested? Think you will find there are several sources that clearly stated we were and had made an approach to Roma. Yes, he is probably another step up from Gaston, but I don't see it as unrealistic-you do need quality players if your target is top 6 in the EPL.

Saint Martin

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes saint martin I never said we weren't interested, we were but he wasn't interested in us

Nigel Adkins wants to make a triple raid on Saints for Danny Fox, Guly and a Season Loan for Ward-Prowse. TBH Ward-Prowse is better of here this season as for the other two I will drive them to the Madjeski myself.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I totally agree about the other 2, but I personally think a loan out for WP to get 30+ matches under his belt in the next year would be a good thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah did you see JWP doing those volleys in England training? We need him in our squad, I think he is going to be better in the advanced role in centre midfield both equally capable of holding as well.
