Finally some positive news from the press! Nothing official yet but definitely sounds like Koeman will be our new manager and will hopefully be announced when he returns from holiday, he would be a top signing for us and his philosophies fit us perfectly, as well as being a Dutch and Barcelona legend who will inspire the players. His trophy success rate is also great, so could have a good cup run too! Hope he brings a couple of his young Dutch gems from Feynoord too, COYR!

Right reading all the snippets from the eds it appears the club have a massive underlining problem where a lot of players feel like promises have been broken.

What i'd like to ask you eds is what does this actually mean for southampton in the short term does this mean we can see lallana shaw who we expected to go anyway aswell as lovren and i'm guessing more on top of that trying to force there way out? Will we actually be having to completely rebuild the team?

Or does the new manager have a key part in this. could the manager change players minds is it that simple? Or will they be expecting the departures and inturn are we going to have a massive change this summer?

I can't remember a team losing 4 or 5 key players ever. has that happened before because I can't see that being a positive thing and surely if the club don't want to sell that many key players they can be held to there contracts?

From a non biased point of view is it as bad as it sounds are we in that much trouble or can this be fixed as simply as getting a manager of a high calibre to show we are still ambitious to save face.

Thank you for your time.

I think it will all come down to the club and new manager's ambitions, if say we give our new manager (most likely Koeman) a decent budget and we tell the players that we're pushing for Champions league football next year then I reckon they'll stay because a lot of players like Lallana and Shneiderlin who were with us when we were in league 1 probably thought they'd never have the chance to play in the champions league or even get near it and now they rightly see it as the next step in their career but if we show them they can do it with us by signing some quality players then at least we can have a good go next season and at least keep them for another year.
