Considering the petering end to the season, Saints have done better then we all expected, and I hope we don't miss out on a Europa League place by becoming sloppy and looking like we are on our holidays already.
The Villa game is huge for both teams for different reasons, so we shouldn't struggle with an incentive to give it our best shot.
As for next season, with Forster out, we DO need another quality keeper to cover him and Gazzaniga isn't a quality keeper.
Also required is another striker to the fold, as failure to find the net became our undoing second part of the season.
I don't see Elia or Djuricic staying and see a few new signings as well as utilising the academy.
I don't rate Gardos or Yoshida, so a major look in the area of the team will be required.
Should Schneiderlin leave (Arsenal possibly), how about a player swap for a few million with Arsenal and Theo Walcott.lol
However Jordy Clasie would be a great alternative should Spiderman go.
No pressure for next season. lol

I agree with most but elia and djurcic should stay they have only been here a couple of months and with a good pre season they will feel more like a team and play better

I think there's more to the team's lack of goals than the addition of one new striker will turn around. Chance creation over the second half of the season has been pitiful.

I remember posting early on in the season that Saints had better hope Tadic doesn't get injured or lose form (which he then went on to do, majorly) as the team's entire attacking potential seemed to be a case of either Tadic or nothing.

We know Wanyama and Schneiderlin are rock solid in a defensive capacity. Davis and Ward-Prowse are a dab hand at simple sideways and backwards passing. But where is the creativity? I presume Elia and Djuricic were brought in to try and provide that from the wings, but I think I'm right in saying they have zero assists between them. Saints have only scored four goals in total with Elia on the pitch - two of them by him, in one game.

For some reason the full backs have stopped overlapping too and Saints' options going forward have become increasingly more basic - the aimless fifty yard lump up to Pelle.

A total rethink is needed in the summer. The balance of the side is all wrong. Too many "nothing" players who neither score nor create.

Tadic has done nothing consistant since november
So if tadic done it all how many assist and goals does he have and how many goals has our squad scored this season more than 7 or 8

Koeman is very happy with our centre backs so other than maybe a Toby replacement there's no chance of Yoshida or Gardos moving on. Both of them have had good performances during the season, Gardos most recently for the U21s.

Toby says that joining Southampton FC last summer is the best football decision he's ever made so let's hope that we can sign him permanently

He's always said the right things about the club whenever asked. Regardless of how his transfer pans out, he's conducted himself with absolute quality while he's been here - hasn't seemed like a loan player at all. He's always been up for the various community events and photo calls and has settled in so well.

Ultimately, though, Atletico will decide his future.

Even though it's an entirely trivial perspective to take, perhaps Atletico, appreciating that Saints are very much of the same mould when it comes to keeping hold of top players, will out of good will and faith allow Toby to come to Saints. Fingers crossed.
