Everybody calm down, Southampton could have been better today but you're all looking at the worst points.

Shaw was a bright spark in the game, Wanyama was much more level headed today and Clyne showed real flair. Prowsey nearly got a good goal too!

I know the fans who travelled must be pretty mad about the day but let's forget about it and look forward to the tiki taka play next week. The league is what matters most and we're only going up!

Stay cheery Saint's fans :)

Are you having a laugh? Or are you taking the Micky?
Are season is done and dusted
And I predict a dip in form just enough to make sure we don't get Europer league!
The FA cup was the only thing left to play for
you must work for club? PR!
Or must be wearing the rosiest rose tinted glasses ever!

Agree0 Disagree0

no sir, I am not 'having a laugh'.

I just don't like to see so many fans take the pessimistic view, the F. A cup isn't the end of the world! Southampton are a young team who play good football, but one poor game in a string of 8 undefeated and people like you burst out saying that Poch has lost the plot, players should be sacked bla bla bla.

Just be happy about the good things, put your rosiest rose coloured glasses on, champ! 😉

Agree0 Disagree0

Us being out the cup is a blessing in disguise. If we had won the cup next season could have been a nightmare similar to this season for Swansea who won the League Cup and as a result have struggled with Europe all season. I would rather see us focus on overtaking United in the league.

One very good piece of news out of that game though was the senior debut of McQueen who played superbly well. Could have a very bright future ahead of him. Filled in for Lallana and didn't look miles off the standard.

Agree0 Disagree0

Saints fans complaining that the sason is done and dusted already.
Lord give me strength, I guess we should really be in a relegation dogfight to keep us all happy.

Yes we went out of the cup to a weakend Sunerland but come on if you can't enjoy the rest of the season then go support Man Citehy.
If SRL tap in from a yard hadn't gone over the bar it would all have been quite different.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think like many others poch has been a sensation in the last 18 months but he has no respect for the f. a cup when it comes to f. a cup weekends the only thing he does is sit in the dugout team selection, interviews everything is left down to Perez to do I can't think of any other pl team where that happens it is just very disappointing hopefully he will start to learn that unlike other countries in England domestic cups mean something to the fans and the players COYRS!

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree! McQueen was awesome and now the team can focus getting higher up in the league :)

Agree0 Disagree0

If we had won the cup!
How would that effect next season you field a whole team made up of youth players they get some good experience and the first team are fresh for the EPL!
Where's the problem?
And we have the FA Cup to boot and another trip to wembley for the charity shield
Sorry poor excuse?

Agree0 Disagree0

You are genuinely saying you would be happy for us to take a European competition as a joke having been upset by the fact that we did that with a domestic cup?! I think we are find having left the cup and should be looking to see how far we can push up this league and if we can push more youth into the first squad in the remainder of this season now.

Agree0 Disagree0

No I'm not saying anything the manager is?
He fielded that team! I'm saying treat the europer league with the contemp it deserves
Why should that deprive the fans of the FA Cup? Or at least the chance to win it!!

Didn't see the game, obviously it seems we played very poorly and deserved the loss.

Can anybody tell me how McQueen played when he came on? Interested to see how his (admittedly short) debut went.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The loss wasn't deserved but the team certainly wasn't as strong as usual. Lambo missed an open goal toward the end and Ward-Prowse was really close to scoring in the opening minutes.

I think McQueen played well, he looked calm and got into good positions. Could be good I the future :)

Agree0 Disagree0

The happy man must be drunk on happiness we definitely deserved to lose

An absolutely terrible performance today. By the management who have disrespected the FA cup and more importantly us supporters by picking a poor team.

By the players - who to a man were awful. Don't blame the 6 changes, they all played without any passion.

By Jesus for the worst post match interview.

By the authorities as only one match kicked off at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon.

But credit to the 800 fans who made the trip. If I had the money to refund you all I would.

Now I want MoPo to tell us his plans for the rest of the season. Blood the youth or play the best team - don't mind either - just be honest. Although I support every player that wears the shirt (should be red and white strips) please ensure Guly, Hoover or Kelvin never wear it again.

Very very very disappointed.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If that's our best 11 available to quote Perez, OMG

Agree0 Disagree0

The club and the management have shown little to no! Respect to the fans that pay to watch the team week in and week out!
Just goes to show how little the fans of football clubs are thought of now with the millions made by clubs in the premiership are surpporters becoming surplus to requirements?
Certainly seems that way on the south coast??

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are the fans being disrespected by squad rotation? You pay to see Southampton FC play, the club have absolutely no obligation to play full strength, YOU take that risk by buying the ticket - the name on the front is more important than the name on the back!.

If we had played a full strength side from the start and someone got injured you'd moan about that and it'd leave us short for the league, the comp most people care about most

It would have been nice to go through, yes but we'd have probably gone out next round anyway and to risk an injury, stuffing up the prem and the chance of getting above utd and possibly Europe for the sake of one round? Not worth it imo

Agree0 Disagree0

That's great coming from someone more interested in club kits than football maybe we should have a kit saying we love MoPo no matter what!
Have a word?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahahah maybe!.

Jesus why don't you try not moaning for a change? It doesn't hurt to smile, promise.

GOBSMACKED,,,!,!,!,,

I truly cannot believe what I have seen today.
I do feel for Lallana and LAmbert.
hasus PErez spoke in the week of how wonderful th FA cup is
And we would like to win it. B#+*^X
The team we put out today (and we lost earlier in the league cup to Sunderland, The same way. ) was not up to our usual standard
Come on, I feel for every supporter who attended the game today, of which I was nearly one, that had to pay and travel to watch a load of crap!
What have we to play for that we have to rest our best players? Ie Cork, schneiderlin Fonte and ROdriguez?
Sunderland are not that good. I admit but they are to good for the likes of Guly ( who in my mind did not do a thing worthy of a premiership footballer ) and for our club to treat them as a championship club. Obviously Poch and the others thought we were!
As a true SAints fan and believer I would have liked us to challenge for the FA cup as this was probably our best chance for a while. But the management think otherwise.
I ask this question. Do you still think that Pochettino has the clubs best interest to heart?. because I don't
I feel for RIckie and Adam trying to win a game without the best players around them must be difficult!,!,,, yes?
Don't get me wrong I am a massive saints fan but today am extremely disappointed with the management.

All thoughts on my opinions are welcomed as I feel I have been let down by my club on this issue but I know that we all have different opinions and thoughts. Please let me know yours.

Mauricio Pochettino should put himself in the shoes of the surpporters That have supported are club all of there lives? the FA Cup would have been a massive achievement for this season
Even just getting to the final and a day out at Wembley! Would have made a lot of fans very happy!
He should hang he's head in shame and apologise to the fans?
For they way saints have gone out in the same way as we went out to Sunderland in the league cup!
Talk about not learning from your mistakes? But was it a mistake coming from the man that only a week earlier said he had no interest in europe Inless it was champions league!
Looks like he's was no joking!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Southampton assistant manager Jesus Perez defended Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to make six changes
He said we played are strongest team and we have no more to say on it!
NO MORE TO SAY!
How about sorry for starters for all the fans that traveled on a 650 miles round trip!!

Strange performance today, wasn't so disappointed about the squad selection as some might of been, but none of the players seemed to desire getting the win and were made to look ordinary. Frustrating to end our unbeaten run like that, however the players are good enough to turn this slump around next weekend.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think our players who started against hull looked tired and players who haven't played much weren't ready for a game against Sunderland. So much way-wood passing, its not something we've been accustomed to in recent years
