Should of kept chambers and put in as cb looks so composed

Hard to keep a player who wants to go, especially if you're getting 16m for him - how many other cb/rb's have gone for that?

i'm not saying we are after him but just saying this guy would be a very good option: Aldeweireld, he always played amazing at ajax en he's now very unhappy at atletico because he doesn't get much playing time so atletico agreed on a loan another plus is that koeman has experience with him from the eredivisie

I agree, he'd be quality and is proven in la liga so would be a great signing!

CB who plays RB for Belgium. Would be just what the doctor ordered. But it's not going to happen.

Or we could've just kept Chambers.

Philipp Wollscheid and Alvaro Gonzalez - not sure if we need Gonzalez but Wollscheid for sure - 6ft 4 same as Gardos - both central defenders - that would be some back two - still think we could do with one major Marque signing - a forward - Javier Hernandez starts for Man U today so not sure where that leaves us - Stefan Keissling if still available would be superb- I would have thought that Koeman would of have more targets on his radar?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We won't sign another striker, we're need for a right winger and maybe a CB

Am loving the positivity that has returned to this site. Have been reading for 5 minutes and have not read any: Les Reed is incompetent, Katerina should sell up, I'm not renewing my season ticket comments. Or my favourite one which was the classic, oh no they are asset stripping and then selling the club!

It's fair to say that it has been a turbulent summer!

I believe that the board have done a fantastic job to get the club ready for Sunday's trip to Liverhampton. I also believe that KL deserves a bit of credit for reinvesting the lions share of the money we recouped in transfer fees (as she and LR said they would).

Hopefully, when difficult times come again we can have a little bit more faith in them.

I do agree in part and one of the reasons I have always and will always support saints is that it still has a bit of a family feel.
The board have got amazing prices for some players and the media have blown so much out of proportion its ridiculous. I think we are reasonably well prepared although there's a lot of untested. ness about the manager and certain parts of the team. I'm not saying its not going to work remotely but we did well last year because we gelled so well. There has been no real time to gel properly.
However I do understand why people have lost faith with the board. Not to the level of some screaming BURRRRN THEM! But we were told one thing and then another happened. We sold players and then had none come in for way too long with our board seemingly playing lip service to us.
Without a doubt this has the potential to be the most interesting season we have ever had since Keegan walked out in front of the media and almost yelled SUPRIIIIISE!

Koeman yesterday put out the rumours of a move for Vlaar saying we have Gardos now instead. Said he wants to move for one or two more players, specifically a winger. Also said that spider is ready to be selected and play after a strong week training.

Koeman did state in his press conference that he was still looking to sign 1-2 more players before the transfer window shuts, I'm personally hoping this is Gonzalez and vlaar/van dijk he is hinting at, Gonzalez can also play as a winger which is where koeman also said he wanted improving, and we do need another cb and I think van dijk would be the better option as he will link up well with Forster because of Celtic, how well the players are with eachover means so much and that is my main concern with the other players, that we may have brought in really good talent but none of them have played much with eachover, still, moving on from Liverpool, I think once jrod comes back from injury we'll be stronger than ever, possibly being better than last season, let's get signing and get some points:)

Ron Vlaar is a proper true professional footballer and would link in easily due to his experience in the Premier League. I just think he is the missing link to our squad with his ability to stick with a player and not let him find space to shoot. Very, very under rated player who has been playing for the wrong type of team for far too long.

The fact that Saints have had bids for Sam Byram turned down would suggest RB is one of the positions they're trying to fill, not CB.

I was hoping Jack Stephens would be developing well enough to be promoted to, say, 4th choice CB, but it looks like he's going to be farmed out to Swindon again.

No idea who the winger would be. Redmond and Solly March have been linked, and this Gonzalez chap - then there's Schelotto from a few weeks' back.

It'd be nice to think Koeman has a surprise up his sleeve from the Dutch league that he knows so well - Jean-Paul Boëtius or (rather ambitious) Memphis Depay. Sadly Quincy Promes has just joined Spartak Moscow. Would've been a perfect fit.

I do feel for luke. Gets his dream move, earns us a fortune and then gets injured. Lad has a lot to prove.
