Love the new appointment, really feel it could even be an improvement on Poch. Can hopefully persuade at least Adam to stay and we can reinvest the money from Shaw.

Koeman has plenty of links to some very good players who would fit our vision as well.

I think the tabloids are going to link us with every young dutch player or who has the slightest connection with Koeman in the past. Large pinch of salt being taken whilst the world cup is on. Then I think we'll see what transfers in and out happen. Might just be that Shaw wants to learn from one of the best defenders of his time and likewise Lovren. The most important thing is we now have a decent manager and are out of limbo. Onwards and upwards

I do hope we can keep to our english tradition of players - Understand the need for more depth and some foreign players can do that for us. But don't want to completely cut out the english talent we already have. (i. e. JWP, Chambers) I do expect some foreign players to come in but the main point of Keomans appointment I bet was to carry on producing high quality youngsters.

It's nice to see that Koeman genuinely wants to be at the club and isn't just looking to better himself by coming here, he has a great record and a philosophy that matches ours, a great choice in my eyes

I know its a small point but I actually liked it when he said he was proud to be managing the Saints rather than Southampton.
Be interesting to see what happens over the next month or so. Looking at what the chairman said about reinvesting funds, it does make you wonder how much we do have.
If I'm honest, I wouldn't be devastated if Shaw went as Targetts coming through and the money rumoured could be amazing. If its true about Lallana making waves and upsetting people to get the move then bye bye. If he doesn't want to play for us then I don't want him. Use the money for people who do and will give their all for us.
Lovren is the one I think we would miss the most.
Certainly some exciting times ahead.

For me if we can get 60 million for shaw and lallana it's good business. Already have a left back who has more potential

We are being linked with lex immers, looks like a bit of a tough nut with lots of passion in the middle of the park

Feyenoord have a lot of young gems which is why so many are in the Dutch national team would love to De Vrij in a Saints shirt, Jordy Classy would be great to but I think we have enough players in those positions for the time being, but could be good options if we sell

Looks like we are going to be linked to every dutch player going, great to have Ronald koeman as our new manger, hopefully will attract some big names. will we want or be able to pay the big wages that comes with big names is another thing, exciting times ahead I think, if players want to leave. let them go! reinvest the money on players that want to wear the shirt. going to be a good summer boys get behind ron and the board, they have shown intent

The more I read about Van Gaal the more I think that Shaw's move away might not happen.
I now think we might just have another year out of him. Likewise I'm not sure about Lalland shifting. He might just be worried about a full time starting position (not saying he wouldn't be a regular at Liverpool but I don't think he would be a nailed down first choice).
Think Lovren might be heading for an exit though unfortunately if the right offer is made.
RK will hopefully get a few new faces in and might just get the best out of Gaston. If so I think we will be right up where we were this season gone or maybe higher.
How about Chambers playing CB? He's got all the attributes?
Here's hoping for the official manager announcement today so we can start pushing forward instead of being in limbo.

I don't understand what's happened with Lovren, he's gone from saying he'd be happy to stay to apparently handing in a transfer request, doesn't seem right to me
