Here is a ponder for everyone. Comment as you feel but amongst the first players to head "out of the door" were Barty sold to NFFC and Aaron Martin on loan. These were positions we all know were already a little short in, yet they still went. Now knowing how well NC/NA keep their business to themselves, perhaps these positions were already filled, but no announcement was to be made, say, until after the Olympics. I have my thoughts but that is all they are!

It's all very well speculating, but what would be the purpose behind what you are suggesting?

Surely introducing them into the squad for pre-season is far more beneficial than being secretive about signings that have already happened?

NC/NA will have targets for sure, but they won't stall and hide them if they are concluded, they'll want to push forward with the squad getting integrated. As of now there will be CB/GK targets but nothing is final and we can't assume that the deals are done or safely concluded as we all know things can turn sour at the last moment (e.g. what is possibly happening with Buttner right now).

We still need CB/GK but there is no need to speculate about something which hasn't happened yet, we are in no rush and will get the right men in for the job eventually.

Steven Nzoni has handed in a transfer request in order to move back into the prem! Would be bargain of the summer if we got him, he is underrated big strong physical presence comfortable on the ball good runner and defensively brilliant
Hope NC and NA try and get him
He is an established prem player

Why does everyone want Frazier Richardson and Dean Hammond to leave ?
Frazier got 14 assists and was contender for player of the season, Dean was a consistent performer aswell and i thought they were two of our best players

Believable3 Unbelievable4

I agree with Richardson. But Hammond, he's too slow can't pass can't tackle or attack and yes he was consistent but consistently s**t

Agree3 Disagree2

I don't want to slate either of them. They both tried 100% and did a good job for us. However the reality is SFC has outgrown them. It's about evolution of the squad.

Agree3 Disagree1

I think we should keep Richardson for back up, but Hammond? We now have Cork, Morgan & Davis in the centre, all much better than Hammond unless we get a couple of injuries, even then I'd rather play Chappers above Hammond.

Agree3 Disagree2

There is no harm keeping them on board unless we flood a position with new signings. CM still only has 3 defensive-minded players in Cork, Morgan and Hammond (Davis plays just behing the striker, to suggest he and Hammond are interchangeable is ignorant beyond belief), why not give everyone a chance at least coming on as a sub, if they are found to be surplus to requirements come January then move them on.

No need to over-react to promotion and start throwing away every player we think we don't need because we don't think they are good enough and our squad can cope. See how it goes til January, then shift anything we don't need. If we try and second guess what we will need for our prem campaign we may get caught out. I would rather have player loyalty and give them a chance than rope in extra recruits in a panic buy in January.

anyone know the trialist keeper for the U21s today against Winchester? could well be one of the freebie keepers being give a runout

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Trouble is Owen is more interested in his horse racing yard near Chester these days so wouldnt be more than an hours drive from there. Adkins doesnt deal in 'Has-beens' anyway!

Question for you all.... And I have no source. It's me linking certain statements together in the press and want your thoughts too.
Keep hearing we will get a big name sign for us soon.
Could it be Michael Owen?
Le God dropped a note on twitter several weeks back (or so I'm told) asking Owen to consider a move to St. Mary's. Then silence.
Then last couple of days, activity picked up again with Owen saying he's had several offers. Wants to stay premiership and will announce shortly where.
I know we have several quality strikers, I know we usually don't sign older players... But experience and potential match winning sub?
Stussy

Believable1 Unbelievable5

He won't come because he wants to play and he won't get that at saints, the only reason we would get him would be to push shirt sales which IMO we are doing well enough in anyway.
