A player I hope we take a serious look at is Paulo Dybala of the recently relegated Palermo. 19 year old Argentine winger is pretty highly rated and I think he'd slot in brilliantly in our attacking set up.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sounds good, Josip Ilic would be nice from them too

Agree0 Disagree0

How the hell did Palermo get relegated. To be honest a fair few players on their team would be good for ours but Dybala fits the mould pretty good; young, technically very capable, Italian league where Cortese like's doing business, Argentine so Poch might be able to convince him and he fills a spot we need. Should defo sign this bloke, read a while ago that we had showed interest, hope there was something to it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoffenheim will stay up. Awkward.

Firstly, great news about Cortese. I was always confident the Don would be here to lead the charge.

Seriously, our local paper should be boycotted for their pathetic journalism always doing their utmost to smear Cortese and scaremonger.

Other news.

Schneiderlin a target for Arsenal (still) and expected to launch bid of around £10m. , don't waste your time. £10m is what the likes of QPR pay for has-been's. Our player of the year in his early 20's has to be worth at least double that.

Oh, and Shaw to Spuds - dream on. Even if someone did match the huge (financial fair play damaging) price Cortese would put on his head, why would he opt Spuds over us - let alone Chelski who actually win things and who he supports.

Very exciting times ahead and now we can all really get behind the team tomorrow and show our support for the players, the manager, the chairman and the Liebherr family! Together as one! The future's bright, it's red and white! COYR!

Well, with NC back in UK and the "project" back on track suspect the London clubs and media will be sent packing and told to stop trying to unsettle our players!

What an astute statement from NC. This guy is the real deal (remember the nonsense that used to come from RL?)
And thank you Katharina, your continued support means a lot to a great many people in and around Saints. (With the exception of the Echo, but I stopped buying that comic some while ago, and I suspect a lot more people are doing/will do the same!)

Can Saints go on and fulfil the dream Markus had? It will be tough but for us supporters it may be a really good few years during the attempt.

AND IF ANYONE CAN DO IT, NICOLA CAN!

(Now for a great win tomorrow, and the smiles will last through the summer!)

Toby-the local paper reported the facts. There wasnt a word of speculation or scaremongering in any of their articles relating to the latest series of events. They said Cortese was reviewing his position after difference if long term ambition/opinion and that Pochettino would follow if he walked. Both of these points were facts.

Agree0 Disagree0

The daily Echo always put an anti Cortese slant on all their reports concerning him, like small children that have been told off they sulk and mutter under their breath. We knoiw Nicola is not Media friendly but he is damn successful so I will take that at the moment!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with your post. But, not certain that enough people ask themselves in reference to the Echo, why on earth should Cortese be media friendly to them? The failure of the Echo to show any degree of integrity to either the club or Cortese puts them in a place where they deserve nothing from NC or Saints-and that's what they get.

And whilst I am on my soapbox can we please not have a summer where every move NC makes to run the club efficiently is met by some persons carping on, thinking that a Trust is the same as a charity! Remember the "issues" of programs, visually impaired supporter ticket prices, freebies for past players, refusal to pay crazy agents fees, new kit etc. , etc. The Swiss trains run on time through efficiency not luck, and this is the way the owners expect the club to be run and I believe the benefits of this will really show through next season.

For once, we are in total agreement, Martin. Enjoy today! Tony. Ps. That Man United target, Baines, any good for you? ;)

Not a rumour, but to those who haven't seen, Cortese this morning signed off on plans for the future of the club, and has made a statement confirming that he is 100% happy with the future plans and will stay! Now we can get back to talking transfers and the skates looking to hop on the back of our 'unrest' by saying our players will be leaving can trot back to their League 2 holes!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ah, the dirty rats come sniffing for little crumbs of bad news. The lord giveth, and then he take away. Lol

as I said all along. Couldn't see it being allowed to fall apart. The timing, the fact the press ever heard a whisper and the unity of the club all pointed toward a Cortese power play. Always a scary threatening our worst fears, but now it seems we're not just safe, but reassured that we will be pressing on and on. All the plastic club fans that doubt us and mock us, will be having some red and white humble pie rammed down their throats. COYR!

Cortese - Much relieved and THE signing of the century. Can we all now please get back to rumours of a 100,000 seater stadium, signing players on £250K per week, winning the Prem next season followed by Champions league glory. Btw, who started all the rumours about Cortese? He deserves a good slap!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

£250k a week is far too much for us to be spending on wages for one player. We should be responsible. Keeping Cortese is good but don't go mad.

a web site website reporting this morning that a deal has been reached and Nicola Cortese will be staying. The article has a quote from Nicola saying he is 'unashamedly proud' of the unity the club has shown in supporting him and the future ambitions of the club. I'm delighted this is over and Cortese has what he wants so we can now move forward and improve the team further.

If cortese is as astute as we all like to think then u feel with all his contacts one of them could become a 'new owner' if present situation is not sorted out, as mentioned what good is the Liebers millions if they aren't willing to invest, now is Cortese playing hardball. probably. but with his so called vision possibly even passion and a structure in place that could turn the smallest of profit why would he walk? If he does then it shows we were all wrong in believing in the unflinching hard nose banker, I would like to think he would have a contingency plan in place with future owners as we are now an attractive business to buy into, perhaps with not the wealth of the Liebers but enough to take us to the next level which for me is a reliant 6th -10th place. not all this deluded champions league talk. have u seen tonights echo. pathetic. no wonder other fans bitch about us, yes I know its a minority of saints fans but it really gets my goat. anyway rant over. coyr
