Lovren and Spider-Man will not be leaving st Mary's. We will sign 4/5 decent sort after players and be ready for Lambert and Lallana on opening day of the season.
I'd like to believe you but I am pretty sure we're not out of the woods yet when it comes to losing people.

Almost an absolute fact from very close to the horses mouth. Dejan Lovren is as good as gone. You are all guessing when you say he won't go. I am not guessing 95% certain he will not be here by the end of next week.

I've noticed that the statement from the club about judas leaving for Liverpool is short and not so sweet! No good luck or thanks for your services, and rightly so I'm my opinion.
Now the ego inflated forked tongued tw&t has gone, let's hope that Dusan Tadic proves to be a better all round player and helps us beat Liverpool on 18/8.

The FA should review the way football contracts are issued.
All contracts over 24 months should be honoured by the player and club, with exceptions for career ending injuries that insurances pay off and drastic changes in personal and family circumstances.
A player within 24 months of a contract remaining, may look to leave a club or be sold by a club.
This would put the onus on the player to adhere to the contract they signed, in other words if they don't feel they will be happy at a club for longer than 24 months, they will not sign a longer deal.

When it looks like the days of enduring loyalty to one club are over, let us celebrate the dedication to Saints from the likes Matt LeTiss, Nick Holmes, Jason Dodd, Franny Benali, to name but a recent few. Local (sort of) heroes, every last one of them. We salute you. COYR!

I spoke to an Ex-saints player at the weekend who is close to Dodd and it is felt that those who came out and spoke in favour of NC, were earmarked for dismissal at end of season. Not sure how true that is but it was felt the dismissals were politically based.

Surely all of this talk on the news, in the media and by Les Reed about us using funds from player sales to re-invest is going to drive the prices up on our targets?
The selling club will know what we have available roughly and will try and overprice the players we want.
Fair point but we are not in panic mode and won't be held to ransom. Selling clubs may well try their luck but we just have to be clever with negotiation! Plus with Les Reed talking about succession planning we should already have targets identified and some ground work done. should.

I love to check on this site daily but find it disappointing that us the Saints fans have driven away the only real and convincing input and that being the Eds. As much as I ilke to read "my mate told me", " I've got it on a good source". i'm now board of reading it. Please come back eds and give us any info you have on the Saints Pls Pls Pls Pls!!!!
{Ed001's Note - it is best we stay away while our info is only on players leaving. As soon as we get something defo to share on players incoming, then maybe, as we can at least soften the bad news and lower the abuse levels. Only it does get a bit much having to delete some truly vile posts. It gets like it on every site when a bad time appears after a good run. People don't want to accept the bad things after such a great run of good news. Once people come to accept that the Markus era is over and now the club will be living within its means, they will calm down a bit I am sure. It will help that now the club will be looking to buy a few players to bolster the squad. I just hope no one here really expects the club to spend as much as they think was received in transfer fees, as large percentages are lost in all the additional costs surrounding them. Not just sell on fees, but agent/s' fees, solicitors' fees, paying up contracts, cuts to go to the player who left (though I believe that Ricky Lambert waived his right to a percentage of his contract as he was so keen to play for the team he supports, I do need to check that to be 100% sure though), plus any sell ons etc.}

Such a good insight ed, most real football fans understand that people can't be right all the time. This is a rumour site and as said in this good constructive post your insight is valuable. Whatever the amount spent whoever stays or goes most of us are true saints fans who will support the club and respect posts regardless.

Rangers fan here, just curious to get you guys' opinion on something.
What do you make of the quotes from Adam Lallana today after he completed his move to Liverpool? He said something along the lines of hoping during last season that he would be able to play for Liverpool. I understand players have ambitions which is fair enough, but it seems like a disrespectful thing to admit your head was pretty much elsewhere when captaining a team that's supposed to be in your heart. Not something players say very often.
He has turned into a big head fwit since called for England.
I am glad to see him go, no honour with any mention of Saints just how great Liverpool are. Stated at the end of season dinner that he wanted to stay at this special club so you can't trust a word he says.
I certainly thought it was shady. Shaw showed far more respect to Saints than Lallana has.

According to a journo, he said he would never play for Saints again whilst trying to push this move through. He's not going to receive the same amount of respect as Lambert when Liverpool play at St. Mary's. Shame when the only other player I know who told Saints this was Kenwyn Jones! Sad.

Official Southampton website has been down all morning, I guess we are to receive the inevitable bad news that lallana has gone. I know we are all expecting it and it's old news but it really annoys me the lallana transfer. I certainly won't be clapping him at anfield although I will be clapping lambert!
Pls please pls let's not allow any more departures. We really need to stand stong now and tell these players they are going nowhere! Liverpool did it with jaws and he had his best ever season and so did Liverpool.
Why can't we replicate this, now with a better manager in Koeman and the chance to being some real quality to the existing squad the players wanting to leave will soon forget about it when we are steam rolling the premier league!! COYR!!
